Anne Hathaway would "stare" at her friend's baby bump during 'Les Miserables' shoot to cheer up

Anne Hathaway

The 30-year-old actress shed 25 pounds for the role of prostitute Fatine in the musical movie and found herself wanting to see her pregnant friend to cheer her up during the "hard" process of being away from her husband Adam Shulman and being on a diet.

She revealed: "Making the film was so hard. I was hungry and I couldn't see my husband. One of my old school friends, who now lives in London, was pregnant, so I would go see her when I had time off and just stare at her bump to make me happy again.

"We use to sing backstage all of the time. It took my mind off being hungry."

Although Anne put herself through hardship for the film she found herself "weeping" when watching the final piece - praising her co-stars  Hugh Jackman and Eddie Redmayne's singing voices.

She added to heat magazine: "I watched it and I absolutely wept. The first time I started to cry was during Hugh Jackman's first song. He hits this big note, the camera pans up and the music kicks in and I wept buckets.

"My make-up was everywhere. Amazing. There was this moment where I was like, 'Wait, is Eddie [Redmayne] singing? It's just so beautiful."

Ben Affleck's family hated his beard for his ‘Argo’ role -VIDEO

Ben Affleck in 'Argo'
The 40-year-old actor - who has children Violet, six, Seraphina, three, and seven-month-old Samuel with wife Jennifer Garner - sported facial hair for his role as CIA specialist Tony Mendez in 'Argo' and he admits his new look didn't go down well at home.

He said: "My family unanimously hated the look. There was a united front and my littlest daughter said, 'Can't you shave your prickles. ' I said, 'I have to wear this for work.'

"My daughter said, 'What kind of work would want you to look like this?'"

Ben admitted he had mixed feelings about his beard, finding it "cool" some days but worrying he looked like Bee Gees star Barry Gibb at other moments.

He said: "Sometimes it looked cool like Kurt Russell in one those early '80s movies, but sometimes I looked like Barry Gibb.

"The hair and the beard were no joke. There were definitely some mornings when I thought, 'Can't Tony just get a haircut?'

"I know my hair didn't impress anybody. You know, you can't cheat. You've got to do it right. While nobody says they thought it looked great, nobody says they didn't think it was realistic, either."

Jessica Biel and Colin Farrell bonded over poetry on the set of "Total Recall"

Jessica Biel & Colin Farrell
The two stars appear opposite each other in the sci-fi remake and after chatting between takes discovered they both share a mutual love of verse.

Colin let Jessica borrow some books of his favorite poems and then they would discuss the ones she liked the best.

She revealed: "Colin really likes poetry and I'm a bit of an amateur poet myself. He was telling me all about different poets he likes. He would let me borrow a book and I would look at his poetry book over a week and then I'd pass it back and we'd talk about which poems we liked best."

The 30-year-old actress insists it is important to bond with your co-stars at the start of a new film and she always tries to find out what her fellow actors like when shooting starts on a project.

She added: "When you have to have chemistry with somebody you've just met the best thing to do is find one thing about them that you really like - whether it's that he's kind or really funny or a good chef.

"It's something that you grab on to and you make the basis for your fascination or obsession or passion for that person whom you really don't know at all."

The brunette beauty - who is engaged to Justin Timberlake - recently revealed she writes her own poems because she finds it very relaxing.

Jessica said: "I like being able to write when I find the time to get into it. I love reading poetry and I've written poetry myself since I was in school.

"It's very calming and spiritual to be able to get in touch with emotions and states of mind to write poetry."

‘Total Recall’ star Jessica Biel says co-star Colin Farrell has a ‘kind of magnetism’ which attracts people

Jessica Biel and Colin Farrell

The 30-year-old actress loved working with the reformed hellraiser on new sci-fi movie 'Total Recall,' Jessica - who is engaged to Justin Timberlake - believes people are drawn to Colin simply because he is excited about life, rather than because of his partying and womanizing reputation.

She said: "The thing about Colin is he is just so respectful and such a good guy. When you meet him the sparkle is more about having a curiosity of life, excited about the world and excited about what they're doing or travelling, it's that kind of sparkle.  It's that kind of magnetism that I feel he puts out there in the world, he's just cool to be around."

Meanwhile, Jessica is still caught up in Olympic fever even though the London 2012 Games ended last Sunday and revealed she would love to compete.

She explained to UK radio station Magic 105.4's Breakfast show: "Every fourth year that comes around, I'm watching those gymnasts and they're all 4ft 11in and I realize it was never going to be a reality. I'm like 5ft 7in, it was never going to happen, but in my mind I'm always thinking, 'But could I have done it? Could I be a diver? No they're all 5ft 4 in. Could I have been a pole-vaulter, or a long jumper? So I'm always putting myself in there thinking could I still do it."

Jessica has been in London to promote 'Total Recall' - a re-imagining of the cult 1990 film which starred Arnold Schwarzenegger.

The movie also features Kate Beckinsale, Bryan Cranston and Bill Nighy.

Anne Hathaway enjoyed bashing men "a little too much" in 'The Dark Knight Rises'- VIDEO

Anne Hathaway as Catwoman

The 29-year-old actress plays Catwoman in the Batman movie, and she loved grappling with guys in a more action-packed role than she usually takes on.

Speaking at the European premiere of 'The Dark Knight Rises' at London's Leicester Square on Wednesday, she told BANG Showbiz: "Being in the movie was fun because I had to learn to beat up guys - I enjoyed that a little too much."

Christian Bale reprises his role as Batman/Bruce Wayne in the third movie in Christopher Nolan's trilogy, and Anne found the 38-year-old star "really inspiring" to act alongside.

She added: "The first minute you work with Christian Bale it's just amazing. I found him to be really inspiring. It was really great to work with him."

The brunette beauty looked stunning in a white designer dress beaded with silver sequinned flowers at the premiere, and she admitted she loved wearing her skin-tight cat-suit in the blockbuster.

She explained: "I probably should've felt more pressure playing Catwoman because of her history but I knew who was directing me so I focused on trusting Chris.

"I felt so lucky to be the one wearing the cat-suit, I just loved wearing it every chance I got."

Anne was joined at the premiere by fellow cast members Christian Bale and his wife Sandra Blazic, Tom Hardy and his fiancee Charlotte Riley, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Cillian Murphy and Morgan Freeman.

'The Dark Knight Rises' is released tomorrow on Friday.

Lindsay Lohan wore violet contact lenses while filming 'Liz & Dick'

Lindsay Lohan as Elizabeth Taylor
The 'Mean Girls' actress underwent a huge transformation to play Dame Elizabeth Taylor in the new film, including changing her eye colour to match those of the late actress.

New York Post columnist Cindy Adams revealed: "Lindsay's yellow hair, red hair, auburn hair got dyed dark for the film.

"But what you don't know is, she was fitted with violet-coloured contact lenses."

As well as the physical changes, Lindsay will have spent a lot of time in the wardrobe department during filming as she had a staggering 66 costume changes in the biopic.

Movie bosses recently admitted the costumes were a key part of the film.

Producer Larry Thompson said: "Part of the magic is the wardrobe. And Lindsay wants to bring magic to the movie."

The 80-minute television film recounts the tumultuous relationship between Elizabeth - who died in March 2011 aged 79 - and Richard Burton.

The pair were married twice, from 15 March 1964 to 26 June 1974 and from 10 October 1975 to 29 July 1976 and had a famously turbulent relationship.

'True Blood' hunk Grant Bowler plays the Welsh actor in the movie.

"Total Recall" star Colin Farrell spends some quality time with his family in Dublin

Colin Farrell takes a walk on Sandymount Strand in Dublin
Colin Farrell snuck in a week-long trip to his Dublin hometown last week, just before the publicity machine revs up for his big-budget remake of Total Recall which is released next month.

Colin was the guest star at a Q&A at his old National Performing Arts School, reports the Sunday World, and kids peppered him with questions about his career. The school is now co-owned by his brother Eamon.

"The students are on their own individual journeys, whether it's through dance, or singing, or acting. The important thing, and I think they realize it, is that they're all part of telling stories,” he told the paper.

"I don't know what I'm doing half the time so the idea of imparting some grand wisdom from the last 15 years is kind of ridiculous.”

Eamon Farrell remembers that Colin had something special way back when.

"My abiding memory of Col's first class was (acting coach Conal Kearney) coming out and saying, 'He has something special, he's quite unique.’ Now you hear that all the time, but Conal was insistent," Eamon said.
One of the kids in the class asked Colin if he ever paid to watch his own films in a cinema.

“I said, 'Are you mad? I know how s***e they are!,’” Colin joked.

"I admitted to once walking into something, but only because I'd bought a ticket to the screen beside it. It was in New York for one of my first films, American Outlaws."

Colin and his sister Claudine, who also works as his assistant, will be back in Dublin next month for the big European premiere of Total Recall.

Kristen Stewart spent her first day on the set of ‘On The Road’ naked - VIDEO

The 22-year-old actress plays the sexually adventurous first wife of Dean Moriarty, (Garrett Hedlund) in the big screen version of Jack Kerouac's classic novel and although Kristen knew she would have some racy scenes, she and Garrett weren’t expecting her to have to strip off so soon after she started shooting.

Garrett – whose character attempts a threesome with Kristen’s and Sam Riley’s (Sal Paradise) – told E! News: “Our first day of shooting was answering the door naked and her being in bed over there.”

Kristen added: “That was maybe the one day I didn’t feel as free as I did.”

However, despite her initial shock, Kristen admitted she was surprisingly comfortable with the sex scenes and is shocked with her performance when she watches the movie at premieres and screenings.

She explained: “I genuinely did feel so completely comfortable that watching it now even I’m like ‘Whoa!’ Which is fine, that’s the way I should react to it. I’m so not like her, as I’ve said.”

Robert Pattinson refused to bare all for his new movie David Cronenberg’s "Cosmopolis" - VIDEO

The British heartthrob stars in David Cronenberg’s ‘Cosmopolis’ and although he is a huge fan of the director and had promised to do anything he asked, he drew the line at frontal nudity.

Robert is quoted by Metro France as saying: "Five minutes before we filmed, David told me, 'I want to see the bottom of your balls on the top of the frame.' At the moment, I reminded myself that I would do anything for him. So I went back to see him and told him that wouldn't happen.

"He took it really well. At the start, it's a very bizarre scene that you won't see again in another movie, I promise."

While he enjoyed making the movie – based on the novel by Don DeLillo – ‘Twilight Saga’ star Robert admitted he was anxious he wouldn’t be good enough for the role.

He said: "I spent two weeks in a hotel room worrying and confusing myself.”

Robert is currently at the Cannes Film Festival where he attended the red-carpet premiere of girlfriend Kristen Stewart's film, ‘On the Road’ on Wednesday (23.05.12) and the couple are also expected to attend last night’s screening of ‘Cosmopolis’ together.

Robert Pattinson secretly attended the London premiere of 'Snow White and the Huntsman' to support Kristen Stewart

Kristen Stewart at the Snow White premiere
The 26-year-old 'Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2' star didn't walk the red carpet at the Empire Cinema on Monday night but was present behind the scenes.

Kristen, 22, who plays Snow White, presented the film with the cast on stage while Robert watched from the audience.

A source told Us Weekly: "Rob was Kristen's date. Rob was cheering and clapping for Kristen as they walked off stage. He looked proud of his girlfriend."

After the premiere, the cast attended Ciroc Ultra Premium Vodka's official after party at the Royal Courts of Justice.

The actress - who stars as Bella Swan with her real-life partner's Edward Cullen  in the vampire movies - changed out of her black lace Marchesa gown into a leather jacket and jeans.

Apparently, Robert - who celebrated his birthday Sunday - also dressed casually in his trademark baseball cap.

An insider added: "Rob met Kristen there. They stayed together in the VIP area all night and looked really cozy. They made sure no one saw them or photographed them."

The publication reports that he also brought his family to the event.

'Shame' star Michael Fassbender felt the sting of this year’s Oscar snub - VIDEO

Michael Fassbender

The past few months have certainly been a whirlwind for Irish/German actor Michael Fassbender.  Fresh from all the Oscar hype – which didn’t translate into reality in the form of a nomination – for his full frontal nudity in Shame last year, Fassbender is now on the roller-coaster of promotion for Prometheus, one of this summer’s anticipated blockbuster set to open on June 8.

Fassbender is on the cover of the new GQ magazine, and in the accompanying interview he comes across as an unaffected, regular guy who chooses to embrace his success rather than complain about the media scrutiny that goes along with it.

“I take my work seriously but I can't take myself too seriously. I'm in such a crazy privileged position—s***, this is the pinnacle of the dream when I was 17. Nobody wants to hear really how difficult it is,” he told the magazine.

He readily admits that the Shame Oscar snub did sting a bit, because he got caught up in all the hype.  The film, rated NC-17, starred Fassbender as a sex addict, and he literally stripped bare for the part.

Speaking about the Oscar circus, he jokes, “They promised me paradise!"  But instead, he wasn’t nominated and didn’t even attend the ceremony.

"At the beginning people (say), 'You're going to be going to the Oscars,' and you're like, 'Whatever, doesn't matter, don't think so.' But after a while it does penetrate. After a while you're like, 'Anyway, so I'm going to the Oscars...' " But it didn’t quite work out that way. "I thought I was going. And then I found out I wasn't and I was upset. I was very upset by it. The first reaction was, 'What the f***?’

"It's a vanity thing. It does become important to you. And it shouldn't."

Though he didn’t collect an Oscar for Shame, he did acquire a girlfriend.  Fassbender says he started seeing his co-star Nicole Beharie after filming ended.

“We’re trying to see each other as often as possible," says Fassbender, who lives in a small apartment in East London while she resides in New York.

"Nothing happened while we were filming. We started talking more on the promotion thing. So, yeah, it just sort of unfolded like that."

Fassbender, 35, who was born in Germany to an Irish mother and raised in Killarney, Co. Kerry, says his dad keeps him up to speed with gossip because he follows his son’s activities – real and imagined -- on Google Alert.

Fassbender tells one funny story about his dad relaying a tabloid story about a fan vomiting on his shoes.

"My dad was like, "What's this about some fan vomiting on your shoes?'” Fassbender said.

"I wasn't there for it.  It just didn't happen. What are you going to do?"

Here, check out the trailer for Fassbender's upcoming film 'Prometheus':

Kristen Stewart says people are uptight – star takes on vampire sex with Robert Pattinson and now a threesome in 'One the Road'

Kristen Stewart in "One the Road"
If you thought the sex scenes between Bella Swan and Edward Cullen in “The Twilight Saga” were risqué wait until you see what Kristen Stewart gets up to in “On the Road”.

Stewart reveals more than just skimpy lingerie in the new adaptation of Jack Kerouac’s novel and she’s even filmed taking part in a threesome with co-stars Garrett Hedlund and Sam Riley.

Speaking to MTV she said “I wasn’t scared, honestly…It’s kind of insane to watch now. I’m like, ‘Who is that?’ But I think — as every actress says when they do this is — it just felt so right. It was so within a different world and so within a different environment that I don’t even really feel — I mean, I am personally connected to it, of course — but it is something outside of myself.”

“On the Road” follows young drifters Dean Moriarty and his best friend Sal Paradise as the epitome of the Beat Generation. After Sal’s father dies, the duo embarks on a trip across America with Dean’s wife Marylou, a 16-year-old with an affinity for marijuana and sex.

Stewart said she had no problem playing the sexually promiscuous Marylou. She said “I have kind of no qualms about it either…I think people are a little uptight.”

Similarly speaking the Daily Star she said much of her “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn” sex scene with boyfriend Robert Pattinson was edited out.

She said “It is a bit full on but it's edited. I see scenes and I think why is music playing over that, I was definitely making sounds and it could be so sexy and it's not. The ratings board breaks it down so technically and apparently, thrusting is a huge problem for the children.”

This May Stewart and Pattinson both have new movies premiering at Cannes Film Festival in the South of France. The starlet admitted there was a little healthy competition developing between them.

She said “It’s such weird timing. I think if it was us or them. I think we’d take the cake…I haven’t seen ‘Cosmopolis’ yet. I’m dying to see it. The first time I get to see it is actually in Cannes.”

When asked which move was better she said “Mine.”

Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis’ public display of affection in NYC

Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis
The Irish “House” star Olivia Wilde and “Saturday Night Live” funny man Jason Sudeikis were spotted kissing in New York City this week. It seems this beauty and the goofball romance is going swimmingly.

The pair were snapped in the city on Sunday as they stopped to cross the street. The paparazzi snatch and impromptu shot of the actors who can’t seem to keep their hands of them.

It seems that art is imitating life, or vice versa, as the pair are set to star in the movie “Relanxious” together, playing a couple. In the movie Wilde’s character deals with crippling anxiety while Sudeikis’ suffers from agoraphobia. Maybe they could get a two-for-one deal with “House”?!

Robert Pattinson poses for 13-hour photo shoot with pregnant woman - VIDEO

Robert Pattinson posed for a revealing 13-hour photo shoot with a pregnant brunette, and it’s not Kristen Stewart!

The London-born actor posed for the magazine shoot to honor Cosmopolis director, David Cronenberg.

The pictures, which will appear in the June issue of France’s Premiere magazine, show the 25-year-old holding hands with a pregnant woman, the pair only covered by a red silk sheet as they lie in bed together. In the same image another R Patz is also pictured beside the mystery brunette gazing at the couple. The pose is inspired by Cronenberg’s 1988's psychological drama "Dead Ringers."

Another graphic shot shows a shirtless Pattinson sporting a deep gash on his belly, which is inspired by Cronenberg's 1983 s
ci-fi horror "Videodrome."

The concept for the 13-hour shoot was apparently Pattinson’s own idea.

In “Cosmopolis” Pattinson plays Eric Packer, a 28-year-old billionaire who finds his life changed forever after he sets off for a haircut in Manhattan one night. The film will be premiere during the upcoming 2012 Cannes Film Festival.

The “Twilight” star said that working alongside David Cronenberg has increased his confidence.

He told Premiere magazine: “Before, I spent my time doubting myself. As soon as I read a script that I liked, I was working myself up, asking myself if I was good enough. Now, I tell myself: 'F*** it! If they want to hire you, go!”

Watch David Cronenberg talk about casting Robert Pattinson for "Cosmopolis":

Kristen Stewart said "thrusting" was a problem in the sex scene in 'The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1' film

In the fourth film in the movie franchise, Kristen's character Bella Swan and her vampire lover Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) finally consummate their relationship after marrying but the actress insists the scenes they shot were heavily edited because the censors had to make it acceptable for younger film goers because of the required rating.

During an appearance on 'The Graham Norton Show', Kristen - who is dating Robert in real life - said: "(The scene) is a bit full on, but it's edited. I see scenes and think. 'Why is music playing over that? I was definitely making sounds and it could be so sexy and it's not.'

"The ratings board breaks it down so technically and apparently thrusting is a huge problem for the children."

The 22-year-old starlet can next be seen in fantasy film 'Snow White and the Huntsman' in which she stars opposite Charlize Theron and Chris Hemsworth.

During shooting, Kristen was worried that she had hit Chris too hard during a fight scene and left him with a bad bruise.

She revealed: "He's a huge sex symbol so he needed a bit of roughing up! It wasn't too bad, I left a mark but he was able to keep working. I punched him right out of his close up. It's funny now but when it happened I thought, I have just ruined the movie and I love this thing and we are going to have to stop filming.' "

Colin Farrell’s father and sister join him on set of “Dead Man Down”

Dubliner Colin Farrell has always been exceptionally close to his Irish family, which he showed yet again last week on the set of his new film project 'Dead Man Down' in Philadelphia.

There were Farrells all over the City of Brotherly Love as Colin was accompanied by his dad Eamon, a former pro soccer player in Ireland, and his sister Claudine, who has worked as his personal assistant.

The film is a crime thriller, and in it Farrell plays a mobster hell bent on getting revenge for the death of his family.  Judging by the shot of him here with a rifle in his hand and a fearsome face, Colin is getting into character quite nicely.

The film is due for release sometime next year. In the meantime, he’ll be in the hotly anticipated 'Total Recall' remake in August.
