Ryan Gosling and Will Ferrell, the 'Knife Guys'

Jimmy Kimmel didn’t think he could just move up a time slot and not anger anyone, did he? Will Ferrell, with the help of Ryan Gosling and an array of knives, helped put Kimmel back in his place on Wednesday night’s ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ on ABC.

Kimmel made news this week when his late night talkshow got bumped up from the 12:00 midnight time slot to the 11:35 timeslot. However, it seems he inadvertently bumped into Ferrell’s ‘Knife Guys’ weekly QVC taping.

Ferrell comes out on stage unannounced, to the ‘surprise’ of Kimmel. The Irish American comedian is quick to explain that Kimmel should have checked the “sign-in sheet,” as Ferrell’s ‘Knife Guys’ has been holding that studio time for three months now.

“I have knives to sell, Kimmel!” yells Ferrell.

Ferrell continues on with his QVC bit selling the ‘Stabmaster 2200’ with the help of none other than Hollywood stud Ryan Gosling, who can all but keep a straight face during the bit.

Will Ferrell was snapped at an art gallery in Miami sporting a retro Irish soccer jersey earlier this week. God knows the Irish could do with all the support they can get.

Ferrell was also sporting a dashing mustache when is believed to be for his genius news anchor character Ron Burgundy. The Irish American actor is currently filming “Anchorman 2”.

The comedian famous for his impersonation of George W Bush on “Saturday Night Live” and his massively successful movies such as “Anchorman” has travelled to Ireland previously to trace his Irish roots with his brother and to accept the James Joyce Award from University College of Dublin.

In fact you may remember Ferrell’s appearance at the college wearing a full rugby kit including the tighty whity shorts.

He told the crowd “As you all know, I’m kind of a big deal, and this is a big deal…As I perused my leather bound volumes of Ulysses, Finnegans Wake, Dubliners, and Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man, standing in my mahogany library, a lot of feelings ran across my head, like, man, I should have read these books.

“James Joyce spent a lot of his life living outside of Ireland. I too have spent a lot of time living outside of Ireland.”

He was awarded the James Joyce Award for contribution to the field of comedy entertainment by the college’s Literary and Historical Society.

Will Ferrell's Thanksgiving Day meal was disrupted by a house fire

The 'Elf' actor was celebrating the holiday last Thursday with his family - including wife Viveca Paulin and children Magnus, eight, Mattias, six, and two-year-old Axel - in Needham, Massachusetts, when one of the children discovered a fire had broken out in the garage.

Relatives were so shocked that they immediately called the local fire department to put the flames out, who raced to the scene and restored harmony.

Law enforcement sources told TMZ that there were no injuries or major damage, and that Will was extremely friendly with the firefighters - posing for photos and making jokes with them to make their Thanksgiving shift more pleasant.

The 45-year-old comedy actor is known for his sense of humour and recently joked that he wants to buy Ben Stiller's penis a Rolex watch to thank the 'Dodgeball' star for being a good friend.

He shared to the audience during Ben's honouring at the American Cinematheque Awards: "The greatest gift of kindness I could bestow on a friend is to buy them a new Rolex. I would buy Ben Stiller's penis a Rolex. That's how much it means to me.

"So thank you for your talent, you're friendship and your penis.”

Will Ferrell thinks every American home should receive a wheel of cheese

The 45-year-old actor does not think he could run for public office in his native country, but if he did, he would like to promise every home they could have dairy produce which they could exchange as they wished.

He said: "I wouldn't be able to keep the talking points straight. You watch people in office and you realize they have to remember a lot of s**t.

"I would campaign on the platform of bringing back government cheese programmes. Every household would receive a wheel of cheese. Once a month. I'd allow people to exchange their cheese wheel if they wanted cottage cheese of yoghurt.

"My policies would always be rooted in some sort of dairy produce."

However, Will believes only good-looking people get into office these days, no matter how good their policies are.

He told ShortList magazine: "I think that if you have a basic mind for policy and the American public finds you charming to look at, then you're in.

"But if you have the most brilliant political brain yet you're the ugliest human being alive, with thick Coke-bottle glasses and a lisp you would never get elected."

Funnyman Will Ferrell, currently doing press for his new film 'The Campaign,' stopped by Conan on Thursday night. Host Conan O'Brien almost immediately knew that something was bothering Ferrell.
Ferrell was at first reluctant to share his emotions with fellow Irish American O'Brien, but soon let loose as to what was bothering him.

In what appeared to be a spoof of super-fan Nutty Madam's tearful video post about Kristen's cheating, he said: "I don't know if you follow the news at all, but there's this actress, Kristen Stewart and she goes by K-Stew, and she had a boyfriend Robert Pattinson - he's R-Patz - and she cheated on him. And they've broken up, they're not going to get back together, ever."

"What they had was so special Conan, you don't even know what they had, they were in love and she just threw it all away."

Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, both of 'Twilight' fame, both made headlines recently when it came to light that Stewart had been cheating on Pattinson with her director from 'Snow White and The Huntsman' Rupert Sanders. Sanders is married with two children. The scandal reportedly left Pattinson feeling humiliated and heartbroken.

"I don't know if there was anything I could have done to prevent this," said a comically emotional Ferrell. "I don't know what it means to the 'Twilight' franchise. It's not going to be fine ever! (shouting) It's never going to be fine.

"She is a trampire, that's what she is!" proclaimed Ferrell, to which the audience responded with laughter and applause.

Will Ferrell's two-year-old son loves telling people they have a ‘little penis’

The 'Campaign' actor says Axel - his third child with wife Viveca Paulin - is being encouraged by his older brothers, Magnus, eight, and five-year-old Mattias to insult random strangers, and while he is trying to discourage his behaviour, he admits he finds his gags very funny.

He told 'Late Show' host David Letterman: "The two year old unfortunately is just wandering into vulgarity - he has two big brothers, it wasn't from me.

"I'm trying to prevent it. I'm doing everything humanly possible. I'm having a good laugh and it's out of my hands, I can't control it.

"He thinks it's hilarious - and so do his brothers - to walk up to anyone, male or female, and say, 'You have a little penis.' He'll get on a roll and say it over and over again."

Will is even planning to use the youngster's love of the insult to play a joke on some showbiz pals.

He explained: "My brother-in-law wants me to have a big Hollywood party and invite loads of actors, then hopefully he'll walk up to a George Clooney type and say 'You have a little penis'. He thinks it would be really funny."

Meanwhile, Will revealed his 'The Campaign' co-star Zach Galifianakis gave him a generous gift for his recent 45th birthday.

The 'Hangover' actor presented his pal with a cheque for $5 million - but then was told to "wait to cash it".
Will added: "There might be a hold on it."

Will Ferrell's "Anchorman" sequel is "literally five pages of story notes"

The sequel to the Will Ferrell starring movie - about hapless local news reporter Ron Burgundy - has been given the green light by Paramount studios, and now Will and director Adam McKay have to decide what shape the story will take.

Adam told Empire magazine: "The script? It's about two per cent. Or half a per cent? It's literally five pages of story notes and pieces and chunks of story. We're holing up and writing for the next three months."

The film has a huge legacy to live up to after the first movie was so well received, and the director concedes it is unlikely to be as popular, but that doesn't mean it won't be a great movie.

He added: "We almost have to walk into this knowing it'll never be as good as that fresh first time, and once you give that up, you can just worry about making a good movie.

"We're trying to get our minds set to the idea of, 'Let's just do the craziest stuff'. Whatever makes us laugh, we're doing. There's going to be a lot of improvisation in this."

The actor had to get hot and steamy with his co-star Genesis Rodriguez in the Spanish-language comedy, but he doesn't think his erotic performance will excite many cinema goers.

During an appearance on the 'Today' show, he said: "This is the most unsexy sex scene ever committed to film. And the silliest I think I have ever seen."

The 44-year-old funnyman plays Armando Alvarez, the heir to a Mexican cattle ranch whose land is threatened by drug traffickers, and he had to learn Spanish before shooting commenced.

Will practiced day and night to master the language because he didn't want to have a bad accent in the film.

He explained: "I started working with a translator a month prior to filming. Then it was just literally every day and every night and then I started dreaming in Spanish. It was just this intense immersion."

Will - who was born in California - got the idea to make a movie in Spanish from watching telenovelas and he thinks 'Casa de mi Padre' is a "groundbreaking" comedy.

He said: "I just had this crazy idea for the longest time. I think from watching telenovellas which we all love. It's one of the comedies that breaks all the rules ... it's a groundbreaking film."

The 44-year-old actor – who now has three sons with wife Viveca Paulin – first became intimate with a woman during his junior year of college, and admitted the experience felt like “the way it was supposed to happen”.

He said: “In my mind's eye, it seemed like the way it was supposed to happen.”

However, the ‘Anchorman’ actor explained his mother thought he had lost his virginity during his high school years to a girl who was particularly popular with his male classmates.

Speaking in an interview with Rolling Stone magazine, he added: “She said, 'If you slept with this girl, you'd better slap a condom on that pecker of yours’.”

Will’s college years in the Delta Tau Delta fraternity at the University of Southern California also saw him strip off on a number of occasions to impress his fellow classmates.

He said: “In college, they had this thing where you'd run naked on fraternity row, and if anyone challenged me, I'd be happy to do it.”

All hail King Will Ferrell at the Mardi Gras Parade in New Orleans

Will Ferrell donned the red gown and crown as King Bacchus, the Roman God of Wine, in the New Orleans' annual Mardi Gras parade.

The Irish American actor has been in New Orleans since last November working on his upcoming political comedy "Dog Fight". In his new movie he plays a political idiot Cam Brady alongside his costar Zach Galifianakis. "The Hangover" star was also on board at the Mardi Gras parade.

Speaking to the Times-Picayune Ferrell said "I don't know what to expect. I do have to say, everybody is coming up to me and...they have the same speech pattern. They go 'Have you been here before for Mardi Gras?' And I say 'No.' Then they pause. 'Oh. You're going to have a good time.'"

He adds, "It's slightly ominous, almost like it's going to be fraternity hazing or something. But I don't know what to expect. I'm not going to try to predict [what happens], and I think it's going to be crazy and fun."

Will Ferrell had to get a new trailer on the set of "Dog Fight" - he was convinced his other one was haunted

The funnyman is currently shooting his latest film 'Dog Fight' in New Orleans but was left freaked out by the "ghosts" he was convinced were in the trailer and refused to return to it until producers had replaced it.

A source said: "During a break in filming, Will had gone to his dressing trailer to rest, but when he got there, he heard an eerie rattling noise – then strange voices coming from the bathroom."

Will thought there were intruders in there so asked security to get them out but when he returned he could still hear the noises.

The source told National Enquirer magazine: "After a while Will went back into the trailer – but once again, he heard weird noises coming from the bathroom. This time he threw open the door and was shocked when he saw nothing.

"He ran outside and told the guards, 'It's ghosts from that graveyard and I'm not going back in there!'"

So producers got a new trailer so filming could start again.
