The boy band joined the cast of 'Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues' for a performance of 'Afternoon Delight' on 'Saturday Night Live' and Will, who plays news anchor Ron Burgundy in the comedy sequel, was surprised by their talent.

He said: "It was great to be there in support of Paul [Rudd] who was hosting and we got to perform with One Direction, or should I say they got to perform with us. I was kinda shocked; they actually are good singers. They're so down to earth and incredibly sweet."

The band - featuring Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne - "nailed" their performance and Will was delighted to get to meet them.

The 46-year-old actor has been thrilled with the reaction to 'Anchorman 2' and says playing the idiotic news anchor has been one of his best ever roles.

He explained: "It's been so much fun, who wouldn't want to play Ron Burgundy, he's the biggest idiot of all time.

"It's always fun to play people who think they're smarter than they are. At the same time getting to poke fun at modern news, that combination was very pleasing."

Patrick Swayze's widow Lisa Niemi is engaged again

Lisa Niemi, who was married to the 'Ghost' actor for 34 years before his death from pancreatic cancer in September 2009, is set to marry jeweller Albert DePrisco after he proposed earlier this week.

A spokesperson for the 'Beat Angel' actress told People.com: "Albert proposed to Lisa on Christmas Eve."

The couple began dating 18 months ago after being introduced by mutual friends at Lisa's birthday party.

The 57-year-old dancer previously admitted that she would like to find love again shortly after the first anniversary of Patrick's death.

She said: "I would love companionship love. Absolutely. I hope I'm not one of these women who never want to have another relationship. But who knows, that's another bridge I'll cross when I come to it. I may get there and go, I don't know. But I like to think that I can."

Earlier this year, Kirstie Alley claimed that she fell in love with Patrick while filming 'North and South' but never acted on her feelings because they were both married.

She said: "Both of us were married. We did not have an affair. But again, I think what I did was worse. Because I think when you fall in love with someone when you're married you jeopardize your own marriage and their marriage. It's doubly bad."

Kirstie insisted she was good friends with Lisa and was even asked to speak at his funeral after Patrick died.

The 'Best Song Ever' group - comprising Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson - are with each other all the time so it is only natural that they turn for one another for support when they are having love problems.

Harry - the only single member of the band - said: "Yes [we give each other girl advice]!You know we travel all the time together, so if someone's having problems with a girl, they'll come into the car, the put it out into the car and tell everyone what's going on. Then we all kind of give our advice to them and talk about it."

Harry - who has been romantically linked with famous women including Kendall Jenner, Taylor Swift and Caroline Flack - thinks you cannot predict when you fall in love, as it could happen "at any time".

Quizzed on the best way to get his attention, the hunk said: "It depends really. If I spotted the right girl, it could be at any time. I think love sometimes finds you when you're least expecting it and often when you're not looking for it."

Hugh Jackman has dropped out of the upcoming Broadway production 'Houdini'

Hugh Jackman

The 45-year-old Australian actor was due to take on the leading role as the legendary escape artist, Harry Houdini, in the eagerly anticipated show in New York City next year but will not longer be taking to the stage because of his busy schedule.

The 'Wolverine' star issued a statement saying: "I have greatly enjoyed the collaborative process on 'Houdini.' Ultimately, though, I wasn't able to commit to the time this role will require."

The actor, who won a Tony Award for best actor in a musical in 2004 for 'The Boy from Oz,' in which he performed for a year, added: "I have tremendous respect and admiration for the creative team and I wish everyone the best. I know they're well on their way to making something extraordinary."

Hugh signed on to star in the project in January 2012 but just weeks later 'The Newsroom' creator, Aaron Sorkin, who was also due to work on the production, dropped out.

He also blamed a conflict in his schedule but 'Venus in Fur' playwright, David Ives, and 'Hairspray' director, Jack O'Brien' are now attached to the project.

The show's lead producer, Scott Sanders, insisted that the production would continue without Hugh, according to People.com.

He said: "Hugh has been terrific to have on this part of the journey. We will continue to move forward with our remarkable creative team, as they craft this ambitious new musical."

Mariah Carey would be open to more kids - if husband Nick Cannon could carry them

Nick Cannon, Mariah Carey and their children

The 'Art of Letting Go' warbler had such a difficult pregnancy with the couple's two-year-old twins, Moroccan and Monroe, she wouldn't want to put herself through that experience again and would only have more children if her spouse could go through the gruelling nine-month pregnancy.

Appearing on US talk show 'Watch What Happens Live', she quipped: "I had pre-eclampsia, I had gestational diabetes. [It was] a really difficult pregnancy and I was alone most of the time ... we love Nick, but he was working! He's the hardest working man in show business.

"If Nick could have the babies himself, then maybe. Then, bring 'em on. We love kids!"

Once the jokes subsided, however, the 43-year-old diva claimed she was more than happy with her family and feels content with her two children.

She added: "Nick and I have a boy and a girl, I couldn't ask for better."

The 'We Belong' Together hitmaker also revealed that having children has changed her outlook on her career and she makes decisions based on her kids' needs.

She explained: "I'm responsible for these children 'til forever so I look at it like, they didn't ask for this lifestyle. Here they are, and it is so different than being able to just be like, 'OK, bye, well, I'm going here now. I just did a show, I'm leaving.' "

Mariah had an eventful year as a judge on 'American Idol' but quit the show in May following her famed feud with fellow panellist, Nicki Minaj.

The singer, who recently described her 'Idol' experience as being akin to "hell", insisted she'll never be a reality show judge again after feeling duped by the show's producers, who changed the judging panel from three people to four after signing her up to a reported $18 million deal.

Mariah said: "[They said], 'It'll be a three-person panel' ... the typical thing. And then, they tie me up with this; it was [a] typical showbiz 'twirl the moustache' moment. I'm not blaming anybody.

"This is a disclaimer - this is not about anyone in particular - I wouldn't have done the show had I known that they were doing a total experiment village moment and I get to be the person who's out in front. It wasn't my bag."

The blonde socialite has hit out at the 27-year-old actress claiming that she is on her "naughty list" after she allegedly arranged for Paris' brother Barron Hilton to be beaten up.

Speaking to the paparazzi as she left the airport in Los Angeles, she said: "She's on my naughty list this year."

When ask if she thinks she'd ever make up with Lindsay, she gave a stern, "No".

Paris was determined to make the troubled star "pay" for allegedly arranging for Ray Lemoine to smash up Barron's face at a house party in Miami on December 6.

However, the investigation into the beating has now been closed as Barron, 24, is reportedly being uncooperative with police.

The 'Liz & Dick' star previously fell out with Paris in 2006 when society heir Brandon Davis launched a huge rant against Lindsay, egged on by the socialite and businesswoman.

The One Direction heartthrob was planning to head back to his hometown of Mullingar, Ireland, to spend the festive season with his family but is finding it difficult to get a flight from London due to a storm.

The 20-year-old took to Twitter to vent his frustration after spending Sunday night at The O2 to watch JLS' final concert.

Niall tweeted: "Well this is sh*t! Looks like we ain't goin home for Xmas! F*ck you wind. (sic)"
His friend Willie Devine then tweeted: "Wanted: two spaces at a Christmas dinner table this side of the Irish Sea for myself and @NiallOfficial. (sic)"

Fans responded in their dozens offering the pair a place to spend Christmas.

One girl tweeted: "Always welcome at mine, a ton of food is here, lots of drink, and ace decorations. (sic)"

'Directioners' then got "#getniallhomeforchristmas" trending on the social networking website to try and help the pop star.

Niall's mother Maura Gallagher says Christmas is always a "big deal" and she keeps it traditional cooking "turkey, ham and all the veg" for her superstar son and his older sibling Greg.

Mariah Carey paid $1 million to perform for Angolan dictator Jose Eduardo dos Santos

The star played a show for the leader - the second longest serving dictator currently in office - and has been criticized for singing for the man who has been accused of abusing her power and ordering the execution of his opponents.

However, her manager has responded to her critics and insisted she hasn't "done anything wrong".

Jermaine Dupri told the New York Post newspaper: "I don't feel like we have done anything wrong.

"The president of the United States took pictures with this guy's daughter and congratulated this man on his many years of being in office.

"If he can rub shoulders with these people than why is Mariah Carey being accused of doing something wrong?"

The 'All I Want For Christmas Is You' has been blasted by the Human Rights Foundation, and she reportedly gave the president a shout-out during her set.

She said "I am happy to be here in this room, and I am honored to share this show with the president of Angola."

Susan Boyle was "emotionally blackmailed" by her brother

Singing sensation Susan Boyle
Singing sensation Susan Boyle

The 52-year-old singing sensation - who shot to fame after finishing second on 'Britain's Got Talent' in 2009 - handed over the huge sum to her elder sibling Gerry, 59, after he  visited her in the US and told her he would kill himself if she didn't give him the money, her family claims.

Susan's nephew Alan Boyle, 34, told The Sun newspaper: "It was emotional blackmail.

"Susan felt like she had no choice and had to give the money to him. She doesn't deal with pressure very well and he knew the buttons to press."

Businessman Gerry, who runs entertainment company Instant Arena, is said to have wanted the money to turn an old cinema he is renting in Edinburgh, Scotland, into an impressive venue fit to hold big showbiz events.

But Susan's family are now concerned Gerry might ask the 'I Dreamed a Dream' hit maker for more cash at a later date.

Her sister Bridie McCaw said: "In New York she hadn't spoken to him for weeks when he asked for the £50,000. She wasn't well and had a viral infection and tonsillitis. She just said she would give it to him."

Susan's niece Kirsty Foy added: "He is wildly ambitious beyond his capabilities. His track record speaks for itself."

A spokesman for the singer said: "It is true. There were threats of suicide if she did not pay yet another large amount of money."

However, Gerry has laughed off the claims.

He said: "I've heard it all before.

"I've got nothing to say. I'm actually busy on the phone to some adults right now."

Olivia Wilde is trying to be a "strong" pregnant lady like her mother was

Olivia Wilde
Olivia Wilde

The 29-year-old actress is expecting her first baby with her fiancé Jason Sudeikis and she is trying to follow the example her mother, TV documentary maker Leslie Cockburn, who traveled to war zones while she was expecting Olivia and her two other children, Chloe and Charles.

When Olivia is worrying about things like whether she is exercising too much while expecting, she reminds herself of what her mother was capable of doing.

During an appearance on 'The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,' the 'Rush' star said: "I have a great mom. But she set the standard quite high. When I'm worrying about, 'Am I allowed to get on the treadmill?' My mom's like, 'I was in warzones with you guys!' It's good. It makes me feel like I'm not afraid of anything, I can keep going."

Olivia also revealed lots of people don't realize she is expecting or aren't sure because her bump isn't huge and so don't mention it for fear of insulting her.

She added: "I find that people will go to such great lengths to not mention it. People will be like, 'Hey would you like a glass of whiskey?' Or, 'You want to get on this roller coaster?' And I'm like, 'Oh well I'm actually pregnant.' And they go, 'What!?'

"I think it's because unless someone is watching you give birth they don't want to make the wrong call, because that's the worst thing in the world - when you congratulate a non-pregnant woman on her pregnancy."

Maura Gallagher wanted to make sure the One Direction singer and his older brother Greg had "every present on their lists."

She told the new UK issue of Star magazine: "I remember trying to convince him he could hear Santa's reindeer on the roof! When they're young Christmas is fantastic.

"It's always a big deal. Niall loves a family Christmas and all the food. We keep it very traditional, with turkey, ham and all the veg. I spend the day steeping the peas and mash and roast potatoes!"

Maura misses Niall, 20, when he's away from his Irish home and touring the world but said they keep in regular contact via text messages.

She said: "As a mother, you miss being able to do things for him. When I moved to London, I loved doing his washing and cleaning around the house.

"But I felt so alone there. I was miserable and realized I had to get home."

She said the rest of the band - Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne - are the "loveliest lads", calling Harry the "charming one" and Zayn "quiet and mysterious."

Maura doesn't think they will go off the rails and says Niall is very grounded.

She added: "When he comes home to me, he's the same as always. To me, he'll always be my little Niall."

Evangeline Lilly accused "Hobbit" co-star Orlando Bloom of lying about them getting drunk

The 34-year-old actress, who has a two-year-old son, Kahekili Kali, claimed her 'The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug' co-star was exaggerating wildly in a recent interview on 'Chelsea Lately,' during which he said they got so "wasted" together that she threw up.

The Canadian brunette beauty was eager to clear up the story when she appeared on Chelsea Handler's late-night E! series on Tuesday night (17.12.13) and said: "He's the nicest guy, but I heard he was here telling stories about me that weren't true. He changed the story to a ridiculous degree. Because I don't remember him being at the party!"

The former 'Lost' star said that her boyfriend, Norman Kali, was not at the party either, despite Orlando's claims that her "husband" was with them at the time, and she also denied she vomited in front of him.

She said: "Total lie. I am a classy dame. I might have run into a wall, but I did not throw up.
"Clearly Orlando was not at this party! I was there with my girlfriend!"

Charlie Sheen has shut down production on 'Anger Management' several times

Charlie Sheen
Charlie Sheen
The 48-year-old actor, who parted ways with his manager, Mark Burg, entertainment lawyer, Jake Bloom, and publicist, Larry Solters, last week, was reportedly forced to miss work for two days and cut short filming this week because he developed laryngitis from partying too hard.

A source told gossip website RadarOnline.com: "Filming with Charlie came to a halt last week for two days because he had come down with a nasty case of laryngitis. He was unable to talk at all last week, and has only worked half days this week because Charlie's voice isn't 100 percent.

"It has essentially shut down production because Charlie is in all of the scenes of the FX show."

Another insider insisted he developed the illness because he has been partying with his new girlfriend, Brett Rossi.

The source said: "The reason he got laryngitis is simple. Charlie has been partying non-stop ever since Brett came onto the scene.

"There is a constant stream of cars coming and going from his Beverly Hills estate. It's the same pattern of behavior that led to the infamous 2011 meltdown."

A source previously claimed that Charlie, who is currently embroiled in bitter feuds with two of his ex-wives, Denise Richards and Brooke Mueller, relating to their children, was dumped by his trusted advisors after they expressed concerns about Brett, whom be began dating six weeks ago.

But the actor told TMZ.com that the decision was "mutual."

He added: "I couldn't be more pleased with the current state of my team. Much like their fearless leader, they don't believe in excuses, fatigue or failure."

Charlie was fired from 'Two and a Half Men' in March 2011 over his erratic antics, which included partying with prostitutes and blasting the show's creator, Chuck Lorre.

One Direction's Niall Horan is dating a Victoria's Secret "Angel"

Niall Horan and his supposed new girlfriend Barbara Palvin.
Niall Horan and his supposed new girlfriend Barbara Palvin.
There's a rumor every day about One Direction’s Irish heart-throb, Niall Horan and his alleged gal pals – but the current one has photo evidence!

Niall, who’ll travel home to Co. Westmeath for the holidays, has supposedly landed himself a Victoria’s Secret model from Hungary named Barbara Palvin.  The duo left a club on Sunday together after the U.K. X Factor show ended its season.

And in another sign that they’re hot and heavy as the tabloids allege, Niall and Barb went to see the new Hunger Games movie in London last month.  True love!

These kiddies are only 20 years old, so undoubtedly there will be plenty more suitors in both of their futures. In the meantime, Palvin should prepare for an army of 1D fans who will hate her, like, forever … or at least till she exits stage left!

British singer Ellie Goulding had a brief thing with Horan, she admitted last Friday night on Ireland’s Late Late Show, revealing that they “did kiss” during a Kings of Leon concert.   These days, though, they’re back to being good buds.

Horan and his British bandmates are voracious Twitter users, and the social networking site proclaimed that 1D had three of the five top tweets in the world this past year.  One of them sent by Niall was number three, when he tweeted on September 12, “Yesss! I’m 20!  Wohooo!  No more teens!” The newsflash was re-tweeted more than 367,000 times.

The band is taking a break for a while before returning to their world tour which will bring them back to the U.S.  Next summer they’re going big, playing outdoor stadiums like MetLife in New Jersey and Gillette Stadium in Foxboro.

Congrats to Jamie Dornan, who landed the plum starring role in the film version of Fifty Shades of Grey – and an even bigger part late last month when his wife, Amelia Warner, gave birth to the couple’s first child, a girl, in Vancouver.

Other details were hard to come by at press time, but a rep confirmed the good news to People magazine on Tuesday afternoon. The couple has been based in Canada while Dornan, 31, spends his days bring Fifty protagonist Christian Grey to life alongside co-star Dakota Johnson.

Jamie, a former model originally from Holywood, Co. Down, and Amelia, also 31, married in April.

Will Ferrell stole a bus while filming 'Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues'

Will Ferrell as Ron Burgudy the Anchorman
Will Ferrell as Ron Burgudy the Anchorman

The 46-year-old actor almost ended up behind bars after he hijacked the single-deck vehicle with his co-stars and whizzed around Atlanta, Georgia, the stunt attracted the attention of police who followed them around the city.

He recalled: "On a lunch break, we stole a city bus, and we were just driving it through the streets of Atlanta and the cops were chasing us. It was art imitating life. We were gone for four hours, and then we hopped out of the bus and said, 'Hey, it's us,' and everyone had a big laugh."

Meanwhile, the funnyman admits he was surprised by Kanye West, who has a cameo appearance in the sequel, and his passion for comedy, and admired his creativity and dedication to his career.

Speaking to the Confidenti@l column in the New York Daily News newspaper, he explained: "That was really fascinating because he came on the set and he was the exact antithesis of what you thought he'd be. He was such a fan of comedy, he was almost reverential and quiet around us.

"He stayed for two days. He wanted to hang around the whole time, but he's probably the most prolific, creative person I've ever been around, because while he was off set he was on the phone talking about a photo shoot, he was writing down lyrics. His mind is constantly working."

However, he recently admitted the 'New Slaves' rapper caused a scene on the set after he refused to turn down his music and reduced a young intern to tears.

He said last week: "Even when you're trying to film, he's playing the tracks. They're loud too. We got a scared 18-year-old intern to ask him to turn them down."

Irish American Mark Wahlberg opens up about is his deep Catholic faith

Mark Walhberg
Mark Walhberg

The Irish American son of Boston has spoken about how he often goes to Mass twice on a Sunday.

The 'Lone Survivor' star, who has four children, Ella, 10, Michael, seven, Brendan, five, and Grace, three, with his wife Rhea Durham, is extremely religious and his Catholic faith is "the most important" part of his life.

The 42-year-old actor told Parade magazine: "It's the most important part of my life. I don't try to push it on anybody and I don't try to hide it.

"If the kids are good, I'll have doughnuts for them at 6:30 in the morning, and I'll say, 'You guys gotta let Mommy sleep in!' I'll go to church at 7:30 and everybody will be eating breakfast when I come home.

"Then we'll go to church again at 10:30, if things aren't too hectic. Or if one of the kids has a game we'll watch them play. It's a nice family day."

The 'Pain & Gain' star likes to spend as much time as possible with his family when he isn't working.
Asked who is in his entourage, he said: "My wife, the kids, and a wonderful nanny. When I'm filming, all the guys are with me; but if I'm not at work, I'm with my family."

Despite his success, the former rapper and underwear model, who lives in Boston, is still very ambitious.

He said: "I don't think it was customary for people from a music background to be accepted in film in a serious way. Considering what I had to overcome, I've had plenty to motivate me. Even more so today--I'm passionate about what I do. I'm a little older, but I'm not getting lazy."

One Direction booed at the NRJ Music Awards in France

One Direction get booed at NRJ Music Awards in Cannes

The British/Irish boy band was greeted with malicious jeers as they took to the stage at the awards ceremony held at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes, France, to pick up their two trophies for Best International Group and Video of the Year for 'Best Song Ever.'

French fans were outraged by the audience's spiteful reaction to 1D and took to Twitter to complain.
One ranted: "For those of you who booed 1D, if you're not happy you should have voted, you bunch of idiots! #NMA"

Another sadly declared: "Katy Perry's mic didn't work, One Direction were booed! We're not going to be seeing any more international stars here in the future... #NMA"

Even those who aren't fans of 1D's brand of pop defended them on the social networking site.
An angry user wrote:"I don't understand why One Direction were booed bearing in mind that THEY actually made the effort to come to France. Everyone has different tastes! #nma"

Katy Perry - who picked up two prizes including Song of the Year for 'Roar' - gave her pals' confidence a boost, however, by dedicating her Best International Female Artist gong to Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne and Zayn Malik.

She said: "I would like to thank my French Katycats, I love you. I would also like to dedicate this award to One Direction. Without you, I wouldn't be here. Thanks!"

This comes after One Direction was booed at the MTV VMAs in August and the boys were given a pep talk by Lady Gaga backstage, who reassured them they were worthy winners.

Electro pop sensation Stromae, Bruno Mars, French singer Tal and James Arthur were the other big winners of the night.

Anne Hathaway movies make Beyonce Knowles cry

The 'Pretty Hurts' singer, who surprised her fans by unveiling her new self-titled "visual album" exclusively on iTunes in the early hours of Friday morning, ran into the Oscar-winning actress at vegan restaurant, Café Gratitude, in Los Angeles last week, and gushed about her love of the 'Les Miserables' star, who was left a little starstruck.

An eyewitness told UsMagazine.com: "She said to Beyonce, 'I love your music.' And Beyonce told Anne, 'And I love your movies and I cry every time I watch them!' "

The duo bumped into each other at the organic eatery after Beyonce, 32, brought her husband, Jay Z, there to celebrate his 44th birthday on December 4.

The rapper recently revealed the couple, who have a 23-month-old daughter, Blue Ivy, are sticking to a plant-based diet until Christmas Day.

The 'Holy Grail' hitmaker wrote on his Life and Times Blog: "It just feels right! So you can call it a spiritual and physical cleanse. I will post my progress. Any professional vegans out there that have any great food spots please help out! Please! I don't know what happens after Christmas. A semi-vegan, a full plant-based diet? Or just a spiritual and physical challenge? We'll see. P.S. B (Beyonce) is also joining me."

Niall Horan

The One Direction heart throb - who is claustrophobic - was panicking when he and some young fans were trapped in a lift in Milan.

He tweeted: "Eight of us got stuck in a tiny lift. Claustrophobia is a terrible thing, and people telling you to calm down is worse. I was freaking out. My heart is still thumping."

He was on his way to the lobby of his hotel with the elevator stopped and while it was said to be just for "five minutes," the singer's fear meant it became his "worst nightmare."

An insider told The Sun newspaper: "Getting stuck in a lift is Niall's worst nightmare and he started to get panicked.

"It lasted maybe five minutes, but once he got outside he was fine. But it felt like a lot longer than that to him."

The 'Story of My Life' hit maker has opened up about his claustrophobia in the past, particularly if he's surrounded by over-eager fans.

He has admitted: "I do get a bit scared sometimes - when we're in the tour bus, fans start climbing all over it and smacking on the windows, trying to get in.

"They start chasing after us, screaming. I'm claustrophobic and I don't like everyone crowding around and shouting questions. I get a bit scared."

The 'How I Met Your Mother' star's 18-month-old, Keeva Jane, is already turning into a domestic goddess and keen to help with household chores, despite her young age.

Alyson told People magazine: "She's sort of a perfectionist. The other day, we were going outside after a snack, and I said, 'Where's Keeva?'

"I went back and she was taking her plate from her little table and trying to put it on the counter, which she couldn't reach.

"I was like, 'She's putting the dishes away!' She [made] me look really bad so then I went and did it too - I had to."

Alyson - who also has four-year-old daughter Satyana Marie with husband Alexis Denisof - has also been making festive decorations with her young ones, in preparation for Santa's arrival in two weeks time.

She added: "My husband [Alexis Denisof] said we should try doing some more homemade decorations this year, so we've been doing that as a family.

"I made a bunch of pom-poms and draped them from a ribbon. Then you tape them onto the ceiling. The kids love it because they try to jump and hit them. It's a lot of bang for a little buck."

Lindsay Lohan is writing a tell-all book

Lindsay Lohan
Lindsay Lohan

The troubled actress met with literary agency Waxman Leavall in New York to discuss the project.

Although the book is in its early stages, Lindsay started it as a series of journal entries while in rehab.

The book is expected to see Lindsay open up about every aspect of her life including becoming a child star, allegations of drug use, relationships with famous people - including her same sex fling with DJ Samantha Ronson - legal troubles and rehab stints, her most recent of which saw her complete 90 days of court ordered treatment in California.

Since leaving rehab at the end of July, Lindsay has sworn off drinking and partying and moved from Los Angeles to New York.

However, earlier this month she was accused of ordering a friend to beat up   socialite Barron Hilton at a party in Miami, although witnesses maintain she was sober at the party.

Journalist Lindsay MaHarry wrote: "Due to her probation, and the $2 million sobriety contract with Oprah [Winfrey], she was laying low, firmly on the wagon."

After leaving rehab, Oprah helped Lindsay turn her life around, and inked a deal for an eight-part documentary series about her post-rehab life for her OWN network, which reportedly includes a clause that Lindsay must remain clean and sober at all times.

Oprah has said of the star: "I believe that she believes that she is ready to move forward in her life. We'll see. I'm anxious to see whether or not this young woman ... will be able to allow us into her life and let us see the trajectory of trying to put the pieces back together."

Brian Griffin comes back from the dead.

Fans of the animated TV show were left distraught last month after the beloved canine, voiced by the show's creator Seth MacFarlane, was killed off in a car accident, but the intellectual pooch was resurrected in the Christmas special, 'Christmas Guy', which aired in the US last night after Stewie, also voiced by Seth, came up with a time travel plan to save his friend.

Brian's death had sparked much protest online with 150,000 people signing a petition demanding he be brought back.

In the special, Stewie goes to the mall with the Griffin family's new pet mutt Vinnie - voiced by Tony Sirico - and asks Santa for his best friend back, but when that doesn't work he remembers he has a time travel machine in his rucksack and he uses it to go back to the moment just before Brian is tragically killed.

He says: "You're alive my friend! I couldn't live without you so I came back from the future to save your life."

Brian replies: "Thank you for saving my life. A lot of other families would have just gotten another dog and moved on."

After the episode aired, 'Family Guy' creator Seth, took to Twitter to tell his fans that they would have been "f****ing high" to think they'd killed off Brian for good.

He wrote: "Oh and hey ... thanks for caring so much about the canine Griffin. He is overcome with gratitude.

"I mean, you didn't really think we'd kill off Brian, did you? Jesus, we'd have to be f***ing high.

"And thus endeth our warm, fuzzy holiday lesson: Never take those you love for granted, for they can be gone in a flash."

'Downton Abbey' Michelle Dockery pretends she's Whitney Houston when she sings karaoke

The 'Downton Abbey' actress, who plays Lady Mary in the ITV drama, says she can't stop herself from grabbing the microphone and having a sing-a-long when she's had a drink of alcohol.

She said: "It's starts with something like 'Back To Black' ... Then I will have a drink - because everyone has a drink when they are doing karaoke.

"Then it'll be 'Total Eclipse Of The Heart', and by the end of the night I'll be desperately trying to do Whitney Houston, which never goes down very well for anyone."

While she was in New York last year filming for the upcoming movie 'Non-Stop' with Julianne Moore and Liam Neeson, the cast would head to a karaoke bar in Koreatown and Julianne would grill her on 'Downtown' scoops.

Speaking to In Style magazine, Michelle said: "She's a big 'Downton' fan so she'd want to hear the gossip - I'd try not to give away too much."

However, it wasn't all fun and games during the four months they were filming in the city as she arrived just as Hurricane Sandy hit.

She added: "I was staying on the 34th floor of a building and it completely blacked out."

The 29-year-old actress, who is expecting her first child with her fiance, Jason Sudeikis, has reintroduced animal products into her life after five years of following a plant-based diet.

Asked if she was sticking to vegan food during her pregnancy, the 'Her' star, who was named PETA's Sexiest Vegetarian celebrity in 2010, told E! News at the launch of Revlon's New Age Defying Collection in New York City: "No, I'm not."

However the brunette beauty insisted she still supports the idea and hinted she will return to being a vegan once she delivers her baby next year.

Olivia previously revealed she often found it challenging to be a vegan even though she had been a vegetarian for years.

Last year, she said: "I have been a vegetarian since I was like... 12. But [being vegan] has been something that, for the past four years, has at times been consistent, other times less so. It helps if you have the right support system."

She added: "[Being vegan] is not always easy and accessible. But it's a way of life and makes me as a person feel really good and physically look better."

Boyzone nowadays...is it just us or do they look better now!

The Boyzone singer was devastated when the band decided to go their separate ways in 2000 to work on their solo careers, and he admits he blamed his co-member for the split, but he believes they've changed their ways since then.

He said: "[I] hated [Ronan] with a passion.

[It's more] cups of tea and hugs [now]. We were reared on the quiet side of the tracks. We were nice lads, none of us were the tough guys in our area. We got together, went off in our own bubble and we were on an exciting rollercoaster."

The group - consisting also of Keith Duffy and Mikey Graham - will rejoin for their one-off special TV appearance '20: No Matter What', for their 20th anniversary, and are ready to take to the stage without their other member Stephen Gately, who died in 2009 from an undiagnosed heart condition.

Mikey explained: "The memories will always be there, but we've managed since Stephen's passing to accept the new shape of Boyzone, and to build upon that slowly."

Ronan added: "It's mad, Warner Music are doing a four-album deal [with us] so it doesn't mean it stops here, it's only just started.

However, the 'No Matter What' hitmakers aren't sure their dance moves are up to scratch anymore, but they have promised they will continue performing as long as fans are still buying their records.

Speaking to the Belfast Telegraph newspaper, Mikey said: "As long as we have fans who buy our records and want to come and see us perform, why not? But I don't know if we'll still be doing a lot of dancing at 40 though!"

The 42-year-old actor didn't realise he had infuriated the 39-year-old star until it came to him auditioning for 1995 drama movie 'The Basketball Diaries', and he claims Leonardo – who played main character Jim Carroll in the film – was determined to make sure Mark didn't land a part in the motion picture.

Speaking in the latest issue of The Hollywood Reporter magazine, he said: “Leonardo [DiCaprio] was like, ‘Over my dead f***ing body. Marky Mark’s not going to be in this f***ing movie.’

"Because we’d had a thing - I didn’t even realise it, [but] I was a bit of a dick to him at a charity basketball game.

"So he was like, ‘This f***ing asshole is not going to be in this movie.’ "

Despite the initial animosity, Mark impressed the producers and landed the role of Mickey and the pair ended becoming really good friends.

He added: "So I come in and I do the audition and I kind of look at him and he kind of looks at me, and then we do a scene, and they’re like, ‘Hmm, this f***ing dude’s pretty good, right?’

"The next thing you know, boom, we’re hanging out.”

Madonna and Sean Penn to spend Christmas together...ho ho ho.

The 'Material Girl' singer recently went on a charity trip to Haiti with the 53-year-old actor, to whom she was married between 1985 and 1989, and it's thought the pair may be rekindling their romance as she recently split from her boyfriend of three years.

A source told The Sun newspaper: "She needs someone who is more of an equal. She needs to be challenged, which Sean does.

"Sean and Madonna now want to see each other over Christmas and Madonna's even considering getting a place out in Haiti. They're in touch non-stop. Friends are joking they'll be remarried by this time next year."

Madonna, 55, was reportedly urged to split from Brahim, 25, after getting spiritual advice at the Kabbalah Centre in New York City.

The source added: "The leaders there told her to finish it, saying Brahim's energy is not right for her at the moment and that she needs someone older.

"Brahim was good for her for a while, as she needed someone young and fun with no strings attached."

The 'Hung Up' hitmaker and actor Sean spent some time together in Haiti last month when she toured the country to see the relief work achieved in the aftermath of a devastating earthquake in 2010.

Demi Lovato got sober for her younger sister's sake

The 'X Factor' USA judge admits the biggest motivation for her checking into rehab in October 2010 to curb her drug and alcohol addictions, self-harm issues and bulimia was the fear of setting a bad example for her 11-year-old half-sister, Madison De La Garza.

The 21-year-old star recalled in her tell-all interview with Access Hollywood: "The last time that I had an intervention, it was my management, my entire team, manager, lawyers, everyone, and my parents coming into a room saying if you don't get sober - my mom specifically said, 'You know, we're going to move back to Texas and you're not going to be able to be around your little sister.' "

Demi's mother Dianna Hart, who has also battled an eating disorder, warned Demi she would cut her out of Madison's life forever if the singer didn't get her act together.

Dianna explained: "I had to set an example for Madison ... I had to protect her and [Demi] knew that. So when I said, 'I'm moving back to Texas,' she knew that I finally meant it that time, and that's when we all sat down with her and said, 'This is it, you have to make a change or we're all going our separate ways because if you don't want this career, we're not going to want it for you.' "

Demi credits Madison, who played Eva Longoria's on-screen daughter Juanita Solis on 'Desperate Housewives', for saving her life.

The 'Neon Lights' singer also opened up about her depression and self-harming in the interview, during which she confessed to her past cocaine problem.

She said: "There should be no taboo about it. I self-harmed, and [my mother] worried all the time. Sometimes when you're feeling so numb just by being depressed, you just want to feel."

Peaches Geldof believes her house is haunted

Peaches Geldof, her son Astala, and the hand!!

The 24-year-old star took a photo of herself in the bath with her 20-month-old son, Astala, and when she checked the image she was shocked to discover a set of discolored fingers by her shoulder.
There is no explanation as to why the eerie digits are in the snap, and the former model believes the hand belongs to a woman who committed suicide more than 100 years ago after she delivered a stillborn baby.

Peaches – who lives in the property in Kent, England with her husband Thomas Cohen, Astala, and their other son, eight-month-old Phaedra – said: "The house was built in the 1920s by a rich man and his pregnant wife. However, his wife had a stillborn baby and was so grief-stricken she went mad. She apparently drowned herself in the bath."

She added: "The presence I feel isn't malignant or angry, rather maternal and friendly – the house has a lovely atmosphere.

"Maybe she's just making her presence known because she loves having babies around."

Peaches has started to leave her door open when she sleeps at night in case the "ghost comes back."

The blond beauty – daughter of Bob Geldof and the late Paula Yates – decided to investigate the history of the house after posting the spooky snap on her Instagram account accompanied with the caption: "Close up shot of the mystery ghost hand in pic I took of Astala and me in the bath!! And no that isn't my hand – one of mine was round his waist to hold him during the photo, the other holding the camera to take the shot. Also the hand is around my shoulder so totally weird angle if I did it myself. How terrifying!! (sic)"

A fan, Amber Micki, commented saying: "You should totally look up the history of your house and it's grounds!"

The Rolling Stones legend, who offered to personally teach the One Direction singer some of his skills for the young star's birthday in September, has admitted they haven't been able to spend any time together due to their busy schedules.

Speaking at The Sun's 2013 Military Awards in London, the 66-year-old rocker said: "I know, he's worse than I am ... He's always out on the road."

But Ronnie insisted he has no plans to renege on his offer and will meet up with Niall as soon as they're both free.

He said: "Oh yeah, I'll definitely do it."

A source previously revealed Niall, 20, was "made up" after Ronnie promised to help him improve his guitar skills.

The British star also offered up some advice for the 'Story Of My Life' singer and his bandmates, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik and Liam Payne.

He said: "Just don't argue amongst yourselves, try and stay together!"

Ronnie was one of several celebrity guests at The Millies, which recognize the excellence and sacrifice made by Britain's Armed Forces, hosted by Phillip Schofield at the National Maritime Museum, and was happy to show his support.

He said: "I'm always busy at this time of year normally and they've always asked me for many years to present and this year I can do it. It's nice to pay something back to the military."

Other guests at the event included Tom Hardy, Katie Piper, Joe Essex, Kian Egan, Gordon Ramsay, Ricky Gervais, Jimmy Carr and Holly Willoughby.

Tara Reid claims she was glassed in the face by a "psycho" clubber

The 'American Pie' actress was celebrating her birthday on November 8 last year when Maryam Hassan attacked the blond bombshell with a smashed wine glass at nightspot Beat in London's West End, a court has heard.

Tara - who was taken to hospital with a scratched eyeball and cuts - claims the incident was unprovoked and Maryam was previously unknown to her, but in her opinion appeared to be motivated by jealousy.

According to The Sun newspaper, Tara told London's Southwark Crown Court: "I guess she was not getting any attention. She threw her drink over my chest."

Tara then explained she retaliated by chucking her own drink back at her, shouting, "you whore, you slut."

However, the former 'Celebrity Big Brother' star was stunned by Maryam's erratic reaction, and recalled: "She went crazy, she went psycho like Naomi Campbell."

Maryam - who comes from Jarrow in the northeast of England and works at the Carlton Cole Foundation - has also been accused of launching "a torrent of racial abuse" at doorman Zimzan Lelo as he evicted her from the club.

Maryam, 27, denies the charges. The trial continues.

Amy Adams hit Bradley Cooper so hard he needed an ice pack on "American Hustle"

The actress had to punch her co-star during a scene in the new 70s thriller but initially wasn't doing it hard enough and had to be encouraged by director David O. Russell.

She told ABC News: "I believe you can accomplish something without hurting someone, so I kept hitting him and I guess it wasn't reading as hard enough. So  David's yelling, 'Hit him, hit him', and Bradley's yelling, 'Hit me, hit me', So I did. And his face started swelling.

"It really started swelling in real life and I said, 'I certainly hope you have it [the shot] because I think Bradley needs some ice. I felt very badly about that."

Amy, 39, is also seen in a number of glamorous period outfits during the movie, but says numerous costume changes were a hassle.

She added: "I had to change costumes like 50 times. My character is trying on all of these different costumes and she's trying all of these different personas, so the costumes were a big part of how she defines herself, it's like her armor.

"It seemed to be, the stronger she feels the less clothes she wears. She uses it as a manipulation and as a weapon. But it was such an insane shoot, a lot of the costume changes were, like, in a closet at some warehouse. You'd just find anywhere you could change and maintain a little dignity and modesty."

The 'Mean Girls' actress, who is starring in a documentary series that will air on the chat show queen's OWN channel early next year, reached out to assure Oprah that she had done nothing wrong after being accused by the hotel heir, who is Paris Hilton's younger brother, of ordering Ray LeMoine to attack him at a house party in Miami.

A source told gossip website RadarOnline.com, "Oprah knows the truth about what happened and there are no problems between the two.

"Lindsay has tremendous respect for Oprah and she apologized to her for even having her name involved in incident."

Ray, who has fled to Cuba, previously insisted Lindsay, 27, had nothing to do with the confrontation.
He claimed he got into an altercation with Barron, who suffered lasting damage to his face, after the 24-year-old socialite refused to leave the house.

He said, "My friend's name was on the lease of this mansion and we didn't want anyone to trash it, so we started kicking people out.

"Eventually things got so heated that he (Barron) pushed me. And that's when the alleged assault, which of course I deny, took place."

Ellen DeGeneres slammed reports her marriage to Portia de Rossi on the rocks

The talk show host, 55, who tied the knot with 'Arrested Development' actress, Portia de Rossi, at their home in Beverly Hills in August 2008, has branded rumors they are about to split "ridiculous."

The comedian insisted she is "very happily married" after seeing a story in a magazine that claimed her relationship was crumbling, and joked on 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show,' "I was like, 'Oh, what happened? They seemed so happy.' And then I was like, 'Wait, I'm Ellen.' And I should know if that was happening."

She added, "It's so ridiculous to me. There's not one ounce of truth to any of it. I'm very happily married. In fact, the only thing we ever argue about is who loves who more. That is all. It really is true. And we argue if we'd let a kangaroo carry us around in its pouch for a year. I would. She wouldn't. She'll change her mind. Who wouldn't want to be in the pouch of a kangaroo for a year? Hopping around. And she's like 'no' but anyway."

Ellen also assured her viewers that they could trust her to share any important news about her life.
She said, "If there's anything you need to know, I'll announce it here first."

She said: "I'd love to have more kids. I think it's about being mentally healthier and then you are physically fit."

The 'Cougar Town' actress was accompanied to her friend Jennifer Aniston's Christmas party on Sunday by the pianist-and-guitarist and onlookers at the bash say they were inseparable for the entire evening.

One source told Life & Style magazine "They arrived around 7pm and left together about three hours later. She drove and he sat in the passenger seat."

Another source added: "Courteney definitely looked like she was on a date! They were holding hands during the party."

While it is unclear how the 49-year-old actress - who has nine-year-old daughter Coco with ex-husband David Arquette - and the 37-year-old rocker met, they are both friends of 'A Team' singer Ed Sheeran, sparking speculation he may have played matchmaker between them.

Ed took to Twitter recently to drum up support for Courteney to win a People's Choice Award for her role in 'Cougar Town'.

He tweeted: "My friend Courteney is nominated for a People's Choice Award for favorite cable TV actress. She's never won one before, and she lets me live in her beach house, so how's about we all vote for her and win her the ... thang eh? Safe. (sic)"

The U2 frontman and 'Monster' actress joined political leaders from around the globe to pay tribute to the former South African president - who died last week aged 95 following a long illness - at a service in Johannesburg.

South Africa native Charlize - who first met the anti-apartheid campaigner in 2004 - was one of the first famous faces to arrive at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg, and blew kisses as she was cheered by the waiting crowd.

Talk show host Oprah Winfrey had been due to attend the service, but reportedly failed to arrive.
The service was delayed by an hour due to bad weather, prompting Cyril Ramaphosa, the Deputy President of the ruling ANC party, to say in his opening address: "In our tradition, when it rains when you are buried, your gods are welcoming you to heaven."

US President Barack Obama arrived an hour late for the service but still received prolonged applause when he paid an emotional tribute.

He said: "To the people of South Africa - people of every race and walk of life - the world thanks you for sharing Nelson Mandela with us.

"His struggle was your struggle. His triumph was your triumph. Your dignity and hope found expression in his life, and your freedom, your democracy is his cherished legacy.

"Mandela taught us the power of action, but also ideas; the importance of reason and arguments; the need to study not only those you agree with, but those who you don't."

Other speakers at the service included South African President Jacob Zuma - who was booed whenever he appeared on the stadium's big screen - Archbishop Desmond Tutu, British Prime Minister David Cameron and former French President Nicholas Sarkozy.

The 'Black Skinhead' makes a cameo appearance in the much-anticipated comedy sequel, and Will - who plays lead character Ron Burgundy in the movie - admitted his new co-star struggled to get to grips with the filming schedule.

Will told Rolling Stone magazine: "He was playing [his new music] through the sound department, on the speakers on set, at the park, as people were setting up for the next shot. Which was great.

"But then he didn't understand when it had to be turned off, when it was time to actually film. He was like, 'Hey man, what's going on?'

"We didn't want Kanye to get upset, but at the same time, we kind of had to film."

As well as giving the crew a sneak peak of his tracks, Kanye also treated them to the occasional performance, which director Adam McKay described as "hilarious."

He added: "I think it was 'New Slaves' - the really strident one. Whichever one gets off on a rant.
"He was like, 'You guys want to listen to some new tracks?' We're like, Yeah, sure!

"Then he started performing, and it gets to the point where he's screaming. He goes a full 100-miles-an-hour. Then he'd turn off and go, 'Anyway, thanks.' It was hilarious."

The 46-year-old actor has revealed he jumped on a plane to California to be by Cheryl Walker's side as soon as he heard that his 'The Fast and the Furious' co-star had died in a fiery car accident last Saturday.

In a heart-breaking post on his Facebook page on Friday, Vin wrote: "When I heard, I immediately flew back to California, and went directly from the plane to his mother's house...

"I thought they needed my strength, but realized when I got there and broke down before his family, that it was I who needed theirs.

"His mother hugged me and said I am so sorry... I said sorry? You're the mother who lost a son?... She said yes, but you lost your other half..."

Paul has left behind his 15-year-old daughter, Meadow, and his girlfriend of seven years Jasmine Pilchard-Gosnell, 23.

A coroner has concluded the deaths of both Paul and his business partner, Roger Rodas, who was driving, were an accident, but investigators are currently looking into the cause of the single-car smash up, with speed believed to have been a factor.

The family and friends of the Hollywood star held a private memorial at the site of the crash in Santa Clarita, CA on Monday night, and a public memorial service is being planned for December 15.

Paris Hilton's brother plans to sue Lindsay Lohan after ordered attack

The hotel heiress' younger sibling, Barron, has vowed to take the 27-year-old actress to court after she allegedly ordered for him to be beaten up by Ray Lemoine at a party on Star Island in Miami on Friday night for "talking sh*t" about her boyfriend.

According to TMZ, sources revealed that Paris met with a lawyer on Saturday afternoon before introducing him to Barron and getting the lawsuit up and running.

However, sources have since claimed the attack was nothing to do with Lindsay and it was merely a party that got out of hand after Barron, 24, refused to leave the property.

Although in an interview with police, Barron, who posted a picture of his injured face on Instagram three hours after the incident, said Lindsay, who famously fell out with his sister Paris in 2006, was laughing as Ray hit him.

Meanwhile, Ray is currently on the run from authorities and is reportedly attempting to take refuge in Cuba because he's scared that the Hiltons may come after him.

Ray said: "I'm scared of the Hiltons and Paris' Cash Money crew [she has a record deal with the company], so I am seeking refuge in Cuba. Castro hates the Hiltons and took their Havana hotel in 1959 as a base after conquering Cuba, so they are stoked I'm coming down to hate capitalism. Viva la Lohan!"
