“It [doesn’t] really matter if it’s a boy or a girl. What really matters is that the baby is healthy.”

While the baby will be film producer Susan's first, Robert, 46, already has an 18-year-old son Indio from his first marriage to actress-and-singer Deborah Falconer.

Robert – who has battled drug addiction in the past - has previously credited Susan with providing him with a more stable relationship than he had with first wife although he admitted he is constantly surprised by how much work it takes to make a marriage successful.

He said: "Susan is cut from a slightly different cloth from Deb and I, and she's provided a great new framework for lots of things.

"Susan doesn't care if this building fell down and we never did another movie again so long as we were happy and loving and together, but so long as it hasn't, she's operating on the fact there's a lot of s**t to get done.

"She is a master at it - I wouldn't be surprised if she built the pyramids.

"Do we have to work at the relationship? More than I thought. And usually more than I would care to.

"But ultimately, it's nice to have pure communication with, for me, a woman. Historically this is not something that, for me, was not really achievable."

In an interview with AARP VIVA magazine, she said “(In Hollywood) it’s ’My self-esteem,’ my self-this,’ ‘my self-that’. Believe me, I’ve been there - I’m an actress. At one point you just get nauseous with it and think, ‘I have to take my mind off myself!’ ”

As she has gotten older, Raquel – who has been married four times -insists she has become far less selfish and always considers the feelings of others before she acts.

She explained: “I wasn’t impossible before, but in the past 10 years I’ve made a concentrated effort to think about what I have to do for other people, what I woe, what my part is in whatever relationship or situation I find myself in. It’s getting older, I guess, that makes you think that way.”

However, the judge ruled she could only seek damages for one year's pay, approximately $980,000 after declaring the show's producers had discretion to write out Nicollette's character Edie Britt when they saw fit to do so.

In yesterday's hearing, the judge – who has already thrown out her harassment claims against show creator and executive producer Marc Cherry – ruled the actress cannot make reference to the program chief's alleged rude behaviour towards others during the trial.

In January, Nicollette agreed to remove her claims of discrimination and harassment based on sex, age and sexual orientation from the suit.

The month before, she decided to leave the claim of intentional infliction of emotional distress out of her case against Cherry, ABC and Touchstone TV so she could avoid undergoing a psychiatric or physical examination.

Nicollette filed a lawsuit last April, claiming wrongful termination, retaliatory termination, assault and battery, discrimination based on sex and age, gender violence, breach of good faith and intentional infliction of emotional distress - the charge which she has subsequently dropped.

In her original suit, the actress claimed Marc hit her across the face and sacked her when she complained to network ABC.

However, the broadcasters have claimed the director gave her a "light tap" while they were rehearsing a scene.

The 'Lose Yourself' hit maker requested a wooden pond filled with the colourful fishes to be built in his private backstage garden at the Tennent's Vital festival in Bangor earlier this month.

Koi carp are said to be calming to watch, and are an expensive variety of domesticated fish, costing between £200 and £600 per fish.

The 45-year-old actor is accused of punching Heather Bormann in the early hours of Sunday morning when she refused to let him on a bus that had been rented by a bachelor party he was involved with in Cleveland, Ohio.

The former 'Desperate Housewives' star's car was struck by the public transport vehicle while driving in California just days before starting her new role on 'Body of Proof', but the over-enthusiastic driver seemed to forget she had just been hit by him when he got out to attend to her.

She told the Daily Mail newspaper: "I'd just left yoga classes at 8.30am with a cup of coffee and felt very calm driving my car until a woman behind me started hooting for me to make an immediate left turn even though people were crossing.

"I was about to get out to tell her to stop when the green light turned amber and I decided to make the turn … But at the same moment, I saw a bus coming towards me out of the corner of my eye. I thought, 'You've got to be kidding.'

He said: "I can't get in touch with any of my kids because when Dina is around no one talks to me.”

He was speaking about Robert Pattinson’s and Kristen Stewart’s acceptance speech for the ‘Best Kiss’ award during the 2011 MTV Movie Awards. When he audience cheered for the on-and-off screen stars to kiss, Pattinon responded by running into the audience and puckering with Lautner instead.

Lautner was at the awards show without the ‘Twilight’ crew to promote his new film ‘Abduction’, but he got little chance to talk to MTV about the new film and instead was questioned about the ubiquitous Robert Pattinson.

Nancy Grace in, Ryan O'Neal out, those are the two major surprises in DWTS for next season I'd say. ABC just announced the entire list.

The grapevine had it that O'Neal was definitely in the show while there were real questions about whether Nancy Grace, with her nightly show, was just a tease or the real thing.

Looks like O'Neal might have proved too much of an unsavory character with his daughter alleging he tried to pick her up etc.

Nancy Grace doesn't have that problem though her hectoring style on TV can get on anyone's nerves.

She's also taking a career chance here. DWTS stars tend to be either over the hill or never climbed the hill. She's at the top with a lot to lose if she becomes frivolous and silly.

She has a stellar record and will donate any winnings to a foundation for missing and exploited children.

Still it is hard to see 'Miss Frosty Face' lighting up the stage as a ballroom dancer with her presence.

I have a feeling she will not last very long.

An online report has leaked the official line up for “Dancing with the Stars 2012” and this year the light-footed dancers include two of Irish ancestry Ray O’Neal and Nancy Grace. The official announcement is set to be made on tonight’s “Bachelor Pad 2”.

Ray O'Neal who was recently featured as a guest on Piers Morgan's CNN cause controversy saying that he believes his troublesome children cause his wife Farrah Fawcett's cancer. He also admitted that he tried to his his daughter Tatum.  O'Neal can trace his Irish ancestry to his maternal grandmother.

Mel Gibson and his ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva have reached a settlement in their custody battle

Following more than a year of bitter fighting, the former couple have agreed on how their 21-month-old daughter Lucia will be cared for although the exact terms and conditions are yet to be released.

Everything will be finalized at a hearing this Wednesday.

A statement released by the Information Office of the Los Angeles Superior Court on Friday night said: “As the result of a multi-day settlement conference, the Court announces that Mel Gibson and Oksana Grigorieva have achieved a settlement in their ongoing dispute.

"The terms and conditions of the settlement will be set for hearing on Wednesday August 31, 2011 … Matters concerning the civil financial agreement will be heard in open court before Judge Peter D. Lichtman. Custody issues will be heard in a closed session.”

Mel – who has seven children with his ex-wife Robyn Moore – was believed to be demanding a completely equal custody arrangement before this announcement was made.

Since they split in June 2010, Mel and Oksana have been at war with each other with the Russian-born beauty making allegations of domestic abuse.

Earlier this year, the 55-year-old star agreed to plead no contest to simple battery relating to an argument he had with Oksana, 41, in January 2010, a lesser charge than corporal injury on a spouse, which he was originally facing.

While Mel felt he was in a strong position to win, his lawyer, Blair Berk, said he accepted the plea to escape a long court fight.

Jim told BANG Showbiz: "The chemistry is sort of in the words and in the screenplay. Dexter and Emma have great chemistry so we just kind of act that! We were lucky me and Anne got on so well. We were really blessed to develop a friendship of our own when we went through the filming experience. But we never really talked about it, like, 'How are we going to get this chemistry?'

"We played a lot of cards. We listened to music. We were stuck in a make-up chair for such a long period of time and we just played each other songs, just sort of hung out. The card games? It's a swear word! S**t Head. You know that game? Good, I'm not mad. We played that a lot."

Anne believes the best way to get good chemistry with a co-star is to let it happen naturally and relax in each other's company.

She added: "I find the more pressure you put on chemistry, the worse it is going to be. The thing about chemistry, it's about people not feeling self conscious around each other so, I think if you sit down and do bullet points, it is kind of pointless. We just kind of relaxed."

She said: "I surround myself with people that are beneficial in my recovery and my recovery is still a daily battle and I definitely hang out with people that support me in making the right decisions.

"I'm a happier and healthier person today because of the choices I've made.

"Having the support of other artists and musicians and actors is really incredible and I'm thankful for that. I'm thankful to have that kind of support from people I look up to."

Among those who have supported Demi is newly-married Kim Kardashian, who the 18-year-old star describes as a “big sister."

The 'One Day' actress explained while she was keen to enter the Christian order when she was a child, it was always more of a "side-bar thing" as she was secretly hoping to fulfil her dreams of becoming a movie star.

She said: "When I was younger I thought about becoming a nun for a while. You know how it is when you're growing up and you're going to be a lot of different things, but I actually wanted to be an actress before I wanted to be a nun. The nun was more of a side-bar thing."

However, the 28-year-old star admitted she does struggle to cope with the pressure of "nailing" her dramatic performances, and is always "devastated" if she doesn't feel she's got it exactly right.

When Ashton was asked by David why he was sporting a shaggy beard, he replied: "Believe it or not they requested this.”

The 33-year-old star also praised the departing Charlie, calling him a “lingual genius”, and admitted he was hesitant to replace him because he "didn’t want to be a troll” – the preferred term the actor uses for people who are against him.

Ashton added: "But I think it's going to go through the roof, I really do. I've been laughing really hard."

Nine MSN are calling Claudine the “wag of the week”. They said that if the Galaxy’s can’t company to Premiere League teams at least they can “boast one of the game's hottest WAGs”.

Yankees legend Derek Jeter and Irish American actress Minka Kelly have split it has been reported.

They had been three years together and were expected to marry.

Justjared.com stated the split was friendly.

“The split was amicable,” sources told the site . “But they remain friends. They still really care for each other.”

Kelly's public relations person confirmed the split the site said.

Kelly, (31), is currently in Miami, filming a new version of Charlie's Angels. Jeter,(37), remains a linchpin of the Yankeees latest push for the World Series.

Tragically her mother died of breast cancer in 2008.

Her mother was a Las Vegas dancer and a stripper and was extremely close to her.

Sadly for years she suffered from depression and bulimia but carried on in her duties as Princess. She was photographed looking awkward and smiling on Prince Charles arm and her every move, item of clothing and action was scrutinized.

It feels like this could be exactly what's going on with Prince William and Kate who are being papped almost everyday. Most recently they were spotted laughing at crude jokes at the premiere of the "Inbetweeners" movie. The press seemed to be questioning if this young royal couple should be entertaining such rude jokes.

We love Kate. We love that she wears Karen Millen, Nine West and other high street brands and that she re-wears coats. She is a style icon and a beautiful woman. But some recent photographs have really been shocking.
 
According to the Belfast Telegraph’s recent report Kate is down to a size 2 (UK size 4). They also speculate that it’s the dramatic change of going from a normal upper class girl to a Princess over night, being papped and scrutinized that is cause her to shrink in size. 

Happily unlike Princess Diana and Prince Charles, William and Kate seem to be a much happier couple. Hopefully she will get over this shock of this dramatic change and settle into the life of the Duchess of Cambridge.

Pregnant Lily Allen feels like a penguin that 'waddles'

The pregnant pop star woke up this morning feeling like the aquatic species of bird – which is known for only being able to move slowly on land – because of her ever-expanding baby bump, but her penguin dilemma led her to start thinking about the chocolate biscuit that shares its name with the animal.

She wrote on her twitter page: "I feel like a penguin, not the chocolate covered biscuity kind, but an actual penguin that waddles … now can't stop thinking about chocolatey penguins doh! (sic)."

Lily – who got married to Sam Cooper earlier this summer – is starting to feel the effects of pregnancy as she enters her third trimester.

In a twitter post last Sunday, she wrote: "I can't see my toes and I'm not bendy anymore."

Since tying the knot in June, Lily and Sam have been living in domestic bliss at their country home in Cranham, Gloucestershire, South West England.

The 26-year-old singer has even been learning how to knit and sew, previously saying: "I'm being taught how to knit. I'm so not rock 'n' roll anymore. I'm embroidering too. I'm actually in the process of making cushions."

Anne Hathaway changed 'certain layers' of her 'One Day' character to 'communicate the story more effectively'

The Irish American actress plays an English girl called Emma in the movie – which spans 20 years of her life – and she admits the book of the same name it is based on had too much character detail to include every aspect.

She told TV show 'BBC Breakfast': "We had to change some things about Emma, not huge things, but there were certain things about Emma that you get to know and there were certain layers to Emma in the book that were very difficult to make clear in the movie so we had to change it in order to communicate the story more effectively."

Anne – who stars alongside Jim Sturgess in the romance – also talked about the challenges of portraying Emma's ageing in the film, and how it is not as stark change as people might expect.

She added: "It was a definite challenge to figure out how to communicate aging without doing it dramatically, because people don't age dramatically, it's actually a slow thing then you wake up one day and you're older.

Roy McIlroy was recently snapped with his new girlfriend, tennis star Caroline Wozniacki enjoying a stroll in New Haven after her latest round of the U.S. Open.

The new couple were seen together enjoying a walk after the Danish beauty’s latest victory at the competition.

Speaking after her victory the 21-year-old said: "I'm happy to have won here," she said. "It was a pretty tough game, but it ended up one where it was nice to start feeling my game and playing the way I wanted to play."

The U.S. Open champ sat in the front row of New Haven Tennis Open on Tuesday during his girlfriends latest challenge. Casually dressed in jeans and a T-shirt , he signed autographs and greeted the crowd who were pleased to see the Irish golf pro at the event.

After splitting from his girlfriend of six-years, Holly Sweeney, in December, the Holywood golfer met Wozniacki at a boxing match on July 2. Sources close to the couple say they have been inseparable since.

U2’s Bono has denied any health scares while in Monaco, South of France

There was a report in the Sunday Independent newspaper claiming that Bono was rushed to a hospital in Monaco suffering from chest pains, but the 51-year-old U2 frontman and his people were quick to deny the story, saying that Bono visited the hospital for a routine checkup only.

Bono and his family have been vacationing in the south of France, where they own a home, after U2’s massively successful but grueling world tour ended last month.  Naturally he’s feeling tired, but that’s about all.

"Despite press stories to the contrary, Bono has not suffered a recent health scare," a U2 spokeswoman said. "Reports of his being rushed to hospital for emergency treatment are untrue. Bono is in good health and enjoying a family holiday in the south of France."

Irish soccer star Robbie Keane signed a deal last week to join the LA Galaxy soccer club for $8 million, where he’ll play alongside David Beckham, who made the same leap across the Atlantic (for waaaaaay more dollars) a few years back.

But what of Keane’s wife, Claudine? Will she be the shy, retiring type who wilts under the LA sun and pines for the dampness in her native Dublin?  Will she recoil at the challenge of watching a Galaxy game in the same family box with the Queen Bee Victoria Beckham?

Uh, hardly, as you might be able to tell from our photo.  Claudine is 10 years younger, blonder, skinner and can preen for a camera every bit as well as Posh can.  Why, Claudine even knows how to smile unlike the stone-faced Posh, currently on maternity leave from the paparazzi but sure to eventually roar back with a vengeance now that there’s a new WAG (member of the wives and girlfriends club) on the scene.

Claudine, 27, and her hubby took a first class flight from London to LAX last week, and already she’s got the camera ready recipe down flat – board the plane in a tracksuit and sneakers, and then depart 10 hours later in killer Louboutin heels, skinny jeans, a barely there top to show off the washboard abs, and a Birkin bag to show that she has indeed been keeping up with the Kardashians.

Claudine – a model at home and in the U.K., of course – was all ready for the waiting paparazzi at the airport, smiling and posing and looking for all the world like she died and went to heaven. Dublin Airport was never like this!

While Robbie got acquainted with his new teammates and got down to the actual business of playing – he even scored a goal in his debut – Claudine had to make do with pampering at the Ritz Hotel and shopping.  Tough life.

The Irish papers are agog now that they’ve got their own homegrown version of Posh and Becks, and they’re dutifully reporting on the couple’s every move, and where they might eventually purchase some LA real estate. Beverly Hills, near the Beckhams, of course, seems to be the favored locale.

Meanwhile, you know you’ve arrived in Hollywood if the penultimate gossip website, TMZ, puts you on its radar, and that’s what’s happened with Claudine.  A few days ago it showed bikini shots of Posh and Claudine under the headline “Who’d You Rather?” inviting readers to cast a vote. Claudine won with 58%.  Nothing like being the new blond on the block!

He added to The Sun newspaper: "Reg has said that the person that she has been painted as in some quarters was just so far away from the Amy he knew. Some of the stories of her last few days were just not how they led their life together."

The results did show the 'Rehab' singer had alcohol in her body, but it is unknown whether that played a part in her death.

A source close to the family said: "The report is the hardest thing Mitch has ever had to read.

"The family had been upset at some of the speculation about the circumstances surrounding her death and at people coming forward claiming to know what happened who clearly did not.
"They wanted to end rumors about drugs. Mitch made it clear at the funeral how he thought it happened - and these results begin to back that up."

Last night, a statement released by her family read: "Toxicology results returned to the Winehouse family by authorities have confirmed that there were no illegal substances in Amy's system at the time of her death. Results indicate that alcohol was present but it cannot be determined as yet if it played a role in her death.

"The family would like to thank the police and coroner for their continuing thorough investigations and for keeping them informed throughout the process. They await the outcome of the inquest in October."

Despite her difficulties, the actress – who was born in New York and raised for most of her childhood in New Jersey - worked hard at mastering the accent, but was disappointed that she never dreamt in her British voice.

Anne – who read the book 'Watching the English: the Hidden Rules of English Behaviour' to held her with her accent – told The Sun newspaper: "I stayed in the accent and used British-isms. I was a little disappointed because I hoped I would start dreaming in the accent.

"That one morning I would just wake up and be in the accent. But that never happened. But once I was in it, the American accent became the 'other'. It was hard to mix the two so I just wound up staying in it all the time. At the wrap party it freaked people out when I started talking like me."

While the actor – who has also appeared on TV shows including 'Game of Thrones' and 'Stargate Atlantis' – doesn't care much for seeing himself on the small screen, he does enjoy trips to the cinema, for the experience of watching a movie with other people.

Jason, 32, added: "I guess if I had a home entertainment system that was like a screening room it might be different but I love going to theatres. It's a communal thing and you go there with like-minded people to see something which you love.

“I get my popcorn and my hot tamales and I love when the lights go down and I watch the previews. To me that's my tradition, that's my childhood. That's when I escaped and went into different worlds.”
