Siobhan Magnus stays in as Didi goes out and Diddy does what exactly?!

Siobhan Magnus has stayed in for the next round of "American Idol" despite being roundly blasted for her version of "Through the Fire" for the R&B week.

Judge Simon Cowell accused her of manslaughter last night which was a bit rough while several bloggers have nicknamed her "Screech Magnus" for her rendition.

Mind you, I don't know how judge Simon Cowell could criticize Siobhan and then hug the newly-named Diddy-Dirty Money for his brutal ditty.

Diddy's ditty "Hello Good Morning" was one of the worst things Amy's ever seen or heard on the show.

Diddy/whatever was caught out in the final seconds of the song when it was obvious he was lip-synching.

It's hard to make out what he's doing - dancing and pretending to sing on a show that's supposedly dedicated to real hopefuls.

At least one thing's for sure.

Screech Magnus ain't faking!

That girl is really hitting the notes - whether or not that grumpy old Brit likes it or not!

Inside Gerard Butler's luxury bachelor pad in New York City

Well girls! Here's something we'd all like to see for ourselves, huh?!

It's the inside of movie heart-throb Gerard Butler's new pad in Chelsea.

The luxury pad measures some 3,300-square-feet and takes up two stories.

“I wanted something elegant and gorgeous and at the same time rather masculine and raw,” Butler told Architectural Digest.

“I guess I would describe the apartment as bohemian old-world rustic chateau with a taste of baroque.”

Butler's on the front page of Architectural Digest for May and there are some other places he would be more than welcome!

Butler says his apartment - which includes13-foot-tall mahogany doors, crystal chandeliers and limestone lions - is a place “to retreat and spend time on my own."

“New York is such a frenetic, crazy city, so I love to use the place for just some peace and quiet.”

Robert and Kristen nominated for MTV's hot kissing award

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are nominated for the Best Kiss in the 2010 MTV Movie Awards.

The sought-after award, most famously won by Toby Maguire and Kristen Dunst in "Spider-Man," may go to Pattinson and Stewart for their kiss in "The Twilight Saga: New Moon."

Oddly, they are facing some tough competition in themselves. Stewart and Dakota Fanning are nominated for their kiss in "The Runaways" and Emilie de Ravin and Pattinson are nominated for their kiss in "Remember Me."

The results will be announced live at the Awards on June 6.

Is Lady Gaga the next Carrie Bradshaw?

Sarah Jessica Parker said she sees resemblances between the zany rock star, Lady Gaga (above), and the eccentric character she plays in the tv show/movie, Carrie Bradshaw.

"She breaks all the rules; she's unconventional," Sarah Jessica Parker said of the comparison. "Well, that's extremely flattering."

Parker's co-star, Kristin Davis, who plays Charlotte York in the TV/film franchise, said "Sarah Jessica is always ahead,"

"We love Lady Gaga!"

Cynthia Nixon, who plays Miranda Hobbes said she one met Gaga. "And she is a big fan of our show."

"I didn't know that!" responded an enthusiastic Parker.

"I want to say one thing about Lady Gaga, which is, a year and a half ago, I was in an editing room working on a project and had already downloaded as much music of hers as I could onto my iPod. And she was not in the mainstream yet, and people [made dismissive comments when I'd play it], but I loved her," said SJP.

"The thing that I loved best about her recently was when she sat down at the piano at the Grammys and sang, and just played the piano," she marveled.

"And you could hear how lyrical her voice is. I really hope she does an album just of singing with the piano."

Megan Fox turns down role as Lara Croft in "Tomb Raider"

She's hot, she's sexy and she has raw talent, thus Megan Fox would have been the perfect candidate to play the role of kick-ass hero, Lara Croft, in the upcoming installment of "Tomb Raider."

But Megan herself didn't think so.

Fox has already been compared to Angelina Jolie on several occasions, so she would have been the perfect fit to have replaced Jolie as the in the next instalment of the franchise.

According to sources close to Fox, she was offered the role but declined the offer.

"The offer has been on the table for Megan for a while but she’s reluctantly turned it down. She’s the logical choice to play Lara and she loves the character but the comparison with Angelina is too much. It looks like the movie will now star an unknown," said the source.

Maybe the resemblance to Jolie is only skin deep.

What I want to know is who will they chose now. Jolie will be hard to replace!

Lindsay Lohan urging people to watch her Documentary

Bad girl gone good? We'll kudos for trying i guess.

Lindsay Lohan is urging people - through every medium possible including her very active twitter account - to watch her documentary on BBC on child trafficking that she shot in India last year.

Lindsay, 24, gave up the glitz and glam of Hollywood life for a short period late last year and traveled to India to shoot the documentary.

Although it's not available in the U.S. just yet, Lindsay fans with a more serious side can go online to watch the documentary after it airs in the U.K this Thursday.

"My documentary for the BBC network is coming out soon... It's about child trafficking in India... I'd like to encourage everyone to watch it!," Lohan wrote.

"It's a massive world issue, and it goes on every day. I just want people to recognise the more important things in the world-rather than gossip. (sic)," she added.

Naturally for poor Lindsay the whole thing didn't go as smoothly as it should have. She got in trouble by immigration authorities after she entered the country on a tourist visa even though she was there to work. She also peed off an Indian NGO after she claimed to have rescued 40-child workers. Not true.

But we like your spirit Lindsay and you're willing to do something for the greater good of the world.

Shannen Doherty voted off "Dancing With The Stars"

What on Earth, America? You eliminated Shannen Doherty last night? Seriously? In a shocking turn of events last night it turned out that Shannen Doherty's stay on Dancing With the Stars wasn't so charmed. She's the first celebrity to be voted off this season.

She took it on the chin though. Doherty says she's an actress and dancing really isn't her 'thing.' But even if Doherty had stayed on, her professional partner Mark Ballas would have had to bow out. He hurt his knee quite seriously during rehearsals and may be sidelined for up to six weeks.

Doherty, 38, the Irish American actress who shot to fame as troubled teen Brenda Walsh on the popular television series Beverly Hills, 90210 and later as the bewitching Prue Halliwell on Charmed, seemed unsurprised by the vote.

Shannen found herself in the bottom two alongside Baywatch star Pamela Anderson, but the viewers opted to save Anderson over the Charmed actress. On hearing the news, Doherty revealed her professional partner, Mark Ballas, was nursing a serious injury which would have prevented him from continuing on the series.

She said: “I think dancing isn’t really my thing. I’m an actor and it’s what I love to do. I did this for my dad and I did exactly what I wanted and I think it’s kind of fate that my partner is hurt and he’s out for six weeks and, to be honest, I wouldn’t want to go on without Mark.”

Here is Shannen dancing:

Kate Gosselin partner wants to quit 'Dancing with Stars'

Kate Gosselin’s second week on "Dancing with the Stars" nearly fell flat on its face as her partner Tony Dovolani threatened to quit.

He told her she needed to start listening to his instructions rather than tuning out.

"We don’t have enough time. I’m stressed!” Gosselin stormed.

“Really? Then why don’t you start to pay attention to my teaching then,” he said. “It’s like really? You’re telling me how to teach you how to dance? That’s what I do for a living.”

“I’ve been mister nice guy. I’m done,” he said to Gosselin and stormed off the set mouthing the words “I quit” to the cameras.

The drama took place before the pair were forced to make up in time to do a Jive that judge Bruno Tonioli labeled “a disaster.”

Now we know why.

Bono's Spider-Man in rehearsal for Broadway debut

Rehearsals for “Spider-Man”, the musical, have begun. Reeve Carney who is to play the lead has been blown away by Bono’s on set advice.

Bono and the Edge wrote the music and lyrics for the show, “Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark”. The show will open in Broadway this fall.

Carney, co-founder of the rock band Carney never dreamed he would be performing on Broadway let alone rehearing with Bono. He said “It was completely surreal sitting next to Bono in rehearsal, and having him show me how to sing the songs.”

U2’s manager, Paul McGuinness, has also announced that he has high hopes that the show will be brought to Dublin’s new Grand Canal Theatre after it takes the U.S. by storm.

Silver fox Helen Mirren beating Megan Fox for 'Sexiest Woman Alive'

Dame Helen Mirren is thrashing Megan Fox in the public poll for the “Sexiest Woman Alive”. Currently Dame Mirren is in the lead with 65 percent of the vote.

The poll, run by Esquire magazine, has pitted 64 women against each other in seven rounds. Dame Mirren is coy about her looks claiming it is all “hype” however the 289,174 people, that have voted for her so far, might beg to differ.

Esquire caught up with the silver fox, Dame Mirren, who said that she was “gobsmacked” by the results of the poll so far. She also said that she thinks Megan Fox is “one of the smartest, coolest, and [hottest] creatures in the Western Hemisphere.”

Other stars doing battle on the poll include Anne Hathaway and Rachel McAdams, Jessica Alba and Jennifer Aniston, Penelope Cruz and Paula Patton, and Eva Mendes and Sienna Miller.

Pattinson is 'a dude who’s doing his thing,' laughs Brosnan

While filming the romantic drama, “Remember Me” in New York, Pierce Brosnan was shocked by the number of screaming fans who descended on the set. He was also charmed by the shy superstar Robert Pattinson.

“Lovely lad, lovely lad. Just caught up in the vortex of fame,” said Brosnan. “I’d come out of my trailer and there’d be hundreds and hundreds of young girls. And I’d get a lovely round of applause and waves and photographs and I’d trip up the steps of the Plaza , feeling chuffed that I still had the juice

“And then - then Robert would appear and I’d hear this bedlam of beauties, this monstrous, monstrous cacophony of screams and shouts. And the circle grows, the circle grows. And you move on.”

Brosnan expressed great admiration for how the young star is handling his amazing fame. He said the two of them could in fact be father and son and had much in common.

They often chatted over a coffee and put money on horses together. “He’s a dude who’s doing his thing,” said Brosnan of the down-to-earth megastar.

High school 'boyfriend' betrayed Phoebe Prince

Sean Mulveyhill, the football star with whom Phoebe Prince had a brief fling, turned on her, allowing other girls to bully her mercilessly. (Mulveyhill is pictured above sitting on ground wearing No. 25 after a high school game.)

Soon after Prince moved to South Hadley from rural County Clare, Ireland, Mulveyhill began dating her, and they were expected to go to the high school winter ball together.

But they broke up, and Mulveyhill apparently turned on her.

Mulveyhill was one of those charged yesterday by Prosecutor Betsy Scheibel in Prince's death by suicide. He was also charged with statutory rape, which is having sex with an underaged minor.

The key ringleaders among the girls were named in The Boston Globe as Kayla Narey, 17, and Ashley Longe, 16, who took great offense when Prince began dating the star football player.

Globe columnist Kevin Cullen names two other "mean girls" -- Flannery Mullins, 16, and Sharon Chanon Velazquez, 16, and their male friend, Austin Renaud, 18. Renaud is also charged with sex with a minor.

Robert Pattinson avoids romantic comedies to avoid becoming the new Hugh Grant

Though Robert Pattinson is a fan of the romantic comedy genre, his reasons for not going near them are twofold; he’s never read a good one and he doesn’t want to have a Hugh Grant-like career.

The ‘Remember Me” start was talking to British channel ITV’s breakfast show GMTV.

"I'd love to (star in a romantic comedy) but they're always just so rubbish. I mean it's like... I'd absolutely love to do it but I've literally never read a good rom-com script,” said the 23-year-old.

“I think it's such a typical career choice for me as well to be honest - if you do a big franchise thing, especially for English guys, you know, (it's natural to) try and do a Hugh Grant part or something, which I don't think would be the best idea for me, mainly because it's quite hard to be Hugh Grant."

Rage Against the Machine want to duet with Susan Boyle

In what could be one of the craziest duets to ever happen, garage rockers Rage Against the Machine have said they would like to make beautiful music with Susan Boyle at a live gig later this year.

The rockers, who beat Susan Boyle out for the Christmas No 1 last Christmas, want to work with the Scottish songstress to end any perceived bad feeling behind the band and Susan’s mentor, Simon Cowell.

"I really hope there are no hard feelings with Simon. He seemed to think that it was a bullying campaign but the truth is the British people wanted a change,” lead singer Zack De La Rocha told the Sun, referring to an online effort that catapulted Rage Against the Machine to no. 1 spot at the expense of Susan Boyle and pop star Joe McElderry

"We love Susan Boyle, she is hot.

"To show there are no hard feelings we would like her to perform with us on stage this summer.

"She is a great vocalist and we would love to perform ‘Killing In The Name’ with her. Everybody knows her in the US and she can add her vocals to anything. It would be an honor for us."

The rockers play a free gig in London on June 6 in recognition of fans' efforts to get them to the top of the charts, so stay tuned to see is Susan finds her metal side in the sun this summer.

Shannen Doherty's ill dad attends DWTS, cheers daughter on

Shannen Doherty embraced her ailing father in an emotional moment after her second week jive routine on 'Dancing with the Stars."

The touching moment came after Doherty had performed a high energy jive with her partner Mark Ballas which helped them earn 20 points from the judges, two higer than last week.

The camera had flashed to her ill father during the routine and the bearded Mr. Doherty seemed deeply moved by his daughter's performance. He suffered a major stroke recently.

Doherty seemed poised throughout dressed as a high school girl with school tie and dark skirt. Judge Len Goodman who gave them the lowest scores thought she had lost control of the dance on a few occasions, but they finished a solid routine toloud applause from the crowd.

The positive judge's reaction and the wild applause from the crowd should guarantee the couple make it through to the next round

Pierce Brosnan reveals his picks for Bond girls

His days as "007" may be long gone but the Irish actor still knows how to pick a bond girl.

Pierce Brosnan, currently staring alongside Robert Pattinson in "Remember Me," said if it were up to him he knows exactly who he would be casting in the tight clad bikini in the Bond movies.

His pick, Megan Fox.

Pierce, 56, told Hollywood Life.com, at the premier of "The Greatest" last week that if he was doing the casting for the new movie, "Bond 23" due for release November 2011, he would chose Fox, the sexiest woman in Hollywood.

Unfortunately Fox wasn't in the running this time.

The new bond lady, staring alongside Daniel Craig is, Freida Pinto, 25, of "Slumdog Millionaire" fame.

Maybe next time for Fox.

Robert Pattinson wants wax work to be ripped with a six pack!

"R Phatz" said his waxwork figure, which was unveiled at Madame Tussauds in New York and London last week, better have a little muscle on the stomach.

The Twilight hunk, 23, who is dating his co-star, Kristien Stewart, 19, told GMTV he wasn't measured up before they created his wax like figure.

'I don't know how they got the sizes,' he said.

'I hope they have given me a six-pack."

However, the wax creators did capture Robbie's rugged features, his messy hair and uber sexy stubble.

And going by the pic above, he can make a good argument.

Lindsay Lohan snubbed by Victoria's Secret, invited by Perez Hilton to party

Poor Lindsay, it's getting worse and worse for the diva redhead every day.

Only last Thursday, she was turned away at the door from a Victoria's Secret party. She turned up looking all glam expecting to be allowed in, but when the doormen saw her coming they locked up the velvet red rope and said, "you ain't on the guest list gal, pal."

Lohan was gutted. She Twittered about her disgust.

So being the kind gossip expert he is, Perez Hilton -- who is sometimes on Lindsay's side -- told her not to worry. Via his ever-so-famous blog, Perez invited the party animal to his birthday bash.

The two will get on like a house on fire.

But Perez ,please keep her away from the booze table -- or she may steal your thunder. And oh we know how much you like the attention!

U2 manager warns Susan Boyle about her Irish financial advisor

A stand off between family relatives of Susan Boyle has led to a blazing row about who is minding her finances.

In the middle of it is U2 manager Paul McGuinness who has warned the family about Ossie Kilkenny, the Irish financial advisor to Boyle, in an extraordinary letter.

Gerry Boyle, Susan's brother, has been suspicious of how Kilkenny is handling Susan's wealth says The Daily Mail. Kilkenny was brought on board by Kirsty Foy, Susan's niece, an entertainment lawyer, who has handled Susan from soon after she became famous.

Gerry however, and his siblings have fallen out with his niece over Kilkenny. Gerry Boyle wrote to U2 manager Paul McGuinness a former associate of Kilkenny for his opinion on him after a businessman he met had warned him about Kilkenny.

Gerry Boyle's letter to McGuinness ran 'As everyone knows, the last few months have been a fairytale come true for our sister Susan, with her sudden rise to international fame and, as you can guess, we are all very proud of her.

'Recently, we received a call from **** ****** [the businessman who had tipped them off about Ossie Kilkenny], which indicated that our sister's "management team'' and in particular Mr Ossie Kilkenny were not the ideal people to be in charge of Susan's affairs.

'I wonder, therefore, with this is in mind, if you can provide any information in relation to Mr Kilkenny's past affairs with Bono and U2, as we are naturally concerned as to what is being described.'

Two days later he received a reply from McGuinness. It was short and left no doubt about what McGuinness thought of Ossie Kilkenny, who parted company U2 in the late Nineties.

'Dear Gerry Boyle,' he wrote. 'My late mother used to advise me that if I had nothing good to say about someone, to say nothing. I always take her advice in respect of Mr Kilkenny. I have nothing to say about him.'
The email concluded: 'I hope your sister has her own lawyer.

Gerry Boyle subsequently found out that Kilkenny had been fined and severely reprimanded by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ireland for breaching the professional code of the institute in dealings with several clients but no allegations were made that he had personally profited.
.
'We are very, very worried about Susan in light of what we have found out,' said Boyle, an entrepreneur, who runs his own entertainment company.

The family now wants to meet Kirsty Foy and Kilkenny to discuss their concerns about him. Foy continues to strongly back Kilkenny as evidenced from this e mail to Gerry Boyle earlier this month.

It begins: 'Dear Uncle Gerard, Ossie has worked tirelessly on Susan's behalf for the past nine months. Both Ossie and I spent a huge amount of time advocating for Susan and negotiating her recording deal.

'Ossie has also made lots of trips to London and elsewhere at his own expense and has funded Susan from the time her benefits stopped, as well as funding other expenses which were required. 'As a result of Ossie's and my efforts, Susan's deal is massively improved over its original form with no downside for Susan.

'Further, Ossie does not have control over Susan's money, so he will not have the opportunity to "fleece" her. Given all of that, I can't understand why you are making these completely untrue allegations. Ossie deserves a great deal of thanks for what he has done, he certainly does not deserve to be defamed after all these efforts.'

Sean Penn to shoot movie in Dublin this summer

Two-time Oscar winner Sean Penn is set to shoot a movie in Dublin this summer after signing on to star in “This Must be the Place.”

The shoot will take place in the Irish capital because producers are using an actual tax exemption for artists in Ireland to base their story there.

Penn will play a rock star that has retired to Ireland to benefit from, you guessed it, the advantageous tax laws and live the grand life.

However, as enjoyable as life in the Emerald Isle is, the rock star soon gets itchy feet and decides to spend his time tracking down the Nazi responsible for his father's death.

Paolo Sorrentino is slated to direct the film.

Penn has spent a lot of his time lately working in Haiti to help the earthquake victims and has been campaigning for further help before the rainy season starts.

Emilie de Ravin dishes on Robert Pattinson

Emilie de Ravin has been letting fans know about what it was like to work with Robert Pattinson on their recent movie 'Remember Me." She was speaking to the London Independent.

She is an actress that Pattinson clearly likes. She's really cool," Pattinson told the newspaper "She was actually the last girl we saw and she was cast on the day of her audition, so we went straight out to a bar. It was so close to filming that we didn't have time to rehearse. But she got it right from the beginning, so it was easy."

De Ravin agrees Pattinson was cool too. "Our relationship in the film is intense," she nods. "We spent a lot of time together, talking about our characters and their relationship, because it's so important to be comfortable together. Then, when we were actually shooting, everything fell into place and felt natural. It didn't ever feel like we were reading a scene or going through the motions."

But did they manage to have any fun on set?

"If you're getting ready to do a really emotional scene then, right before it, you're probably not going to be outside playing basketball," she shrugs. "But everybody involved was passionate about it so there was a good vibe."

Was she upset that Twilight fans and paparazzi had easy access to locations.

"It was distracting at times," admits de Ravin. "We shot 90 per cent on location in Manhattan or Queens so it was very accessible. It's not like they can close down Central Park. So it was difficult for Rob and I to figure out the logistics of a rehearsal when you've got thousands of people watching. Even if you're not looking at them, you're aware of it. It can be hard to focus."

Are Erin Andrews and her DWTS partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy an item?

It would seem that the 'Dancing With the Stars' love net might have caught Erin Andrews and Maksim Chmerkovskiy, as rumors abound that the two could be dating.

Chmerkovskiy waxed lyrical to People magazine about the ESPN presenter recently.

"She’s very friendly, super nice, great personality. She does not hold back. She’s open, and what you see is what there is. Everybody who meets her falls in love with her," he said.

Hollywoodlife.com quoted Chmerkovskiy as saying they were "maybe' dating, and DWTS judges have oft complimented the duo on their chemistry on the dancefloor.

Andrews also has nice things to say about her dance partner when he texted her after one of his basketball teams got knocked out of the NCCA tournament.

“When Kentucky was upset, he texted me about it. He was like, ‘You’re the only person I know that cares about this.’ He’s been adorable,” she said.

Tak a look at the duo in action doing the cha cha:

Further concerns for Lindsay Lohan's well being

Questions have been raised yet again about the well being of Lindsay Lohan after a close aide voiced their fears over the way the starlet is living her life.

"If she doesn't get help soon, she's going to die," a close aide told Entertainment site TMZ.

Lohan has never been shy to party, but the 23-year-old continues to burn the candle at both ends.

Lohan's one-time burgeoning music and film star career has stalled and she is more prominently featured in the news for falling out of clubs and her wild and erratic behavior.

Here's hoping she can find help of some kind soon.

Robert Pattinson still battling gay rumors

Are stories about Robert Pattinson playing action man hero James Bond put around to stop all the gay rumors about him?

Since he has stated that he is "allergic to vaginas"in his 'Details' interview Pattinson has been subject to a whispering campaign.

Old movie scenes like that in 'Little Ashes' in 2008 where his character was part of a gay encounter have been resurrected Some are even pointing to the oft repeated anecdote about his childhood that his sister dressed him as a girl.

Little wonder then that some Pattinson handlers want a big "He-Man" role next for Robert.

James Bond has been talked about as has the role of Spiderman. However, Pattinson himself has not indicated much interest in those roles.

My prediction? He seems safe and secure enough with himself to withstand any kind of whisperings. He will take whatever role he wants, not try and please the peanut gallery and their weird theories. Robert Pattinson will always remain a leading ladies man.

Peaches Geldof denies drugs and sex and Scientology romp report

Irish rock star and activist Bob Geldof’s daughter Peaches Geldof is denying reports that she posed naked while stoned on heroin last Thanksgiving and that she ended up in a Church of Scientology building center after a wild night of sex and drugs.

The naked pictures of Geldof are now a hot property on the web and the anonymous date she had on Thanksgiving night last year has gone public with his account on the web site Reddit.com

In a Reddit forum for "WTF one-night stand stories." Thatcoolguyben” describes an alleged heroin-fueled Thanksgiving Eve sex party—and waking up in the Hollywood Celebrity Scientology Center. Gawker has blasted the story all over its web site

Geldof’s lawyers have issued a statement saying it is not true, though not denying the naked photographs.

Peaches the 21-year-old daughter of Irish rock star/activist Bob Geldof. She spends time in the U.S. and U.K., but she's better known in Britain, her native country where she's a tabloid fixture for her hard partying ways.

Here's some of Reddit user Thatcoolguyben's story

"We drove all around LA looking for the supplies we needed. We drove to various pharmacies looking for needles and cotton. We finally found one, which as a look back on would be a funny sight. A well-dressed guy and girl walk in at 4am looking for a 10 pack of diabetic syringes. We get them and begin the drive home. On the way back she mentions this is heroin base, meaning we need to dissolve this in lemon (I guess this is a British thing, I never have seen this in my years in NYC.) We stop at a Dennys, asking them for a stack of lemons. Once again we got strange looks but it worked. We get back to the house, where I was promptly yelled at for stealing my friend’s car, and getting warned what I was about to get myself into. Once all the commotion settles down, we go to the girl’s room and rig up. At about 5am I was high as a kite and we start to watch a movie. …

I faintly remember her asking me for a ride and me driving her somewhere. I awoke at about 1pm in a sauna, I'm standing in the room groggy, in a Speedo, and confused as hell. I look around and read some stuff realizing I'm in the Celebrity Scientology Center in LA. This girl ended up being a hardcore Scientologist and a D-List celebrity, and we were doing a process called Purif. I showered, got my clothes on, got her, and drove back to my friends, nodding out and puking the whole way."

Sounds like Saint Bob has a real handful here folks!

Susan Boyle deserves her modest new home

So Susan Boyle looks like she has a new house.

Despite the headlines it is a modest purchase, a five bedroom home in her own village backing onto a small river. It is priced around $600,000 hardly a huge splurge by the Scottish songstress.

It is just 1,700 square feet and has nice views of the river in the back.

How typical of Susan however, to go for something low key rather than a splashy mansion It confirms her values are in the right place, that she does not see the need to splash out on items of great wealth.

The pundits were saying she would pay out for a major new apartment in London but that was never Susan's style.

Somewhere where she and Pebbles can roam, where family can stay , where she can call time on her crazy life is what she was looking for and she seems to have found.

Well done Susan.

Roger Ebert sings John Cusack’s praises in “Hot Tub Time Machine”

Legendary film critic Roger Ebert took firm aim at John Cusack in his review of the Irish American’s latest comedy “Hot Tub Time Machine,” and gave him the proverbial thumbs up.

Ebert, whose opinion is highly regarded and sought, was won over by the movie about four friends who time travel back to the 1980s after a mishap in the hot tub.

Ebert hinted at his pro Cusack position in the first paragraph.

“As a general rule, he (Cusack) isn't found in bad film.”

From here, Ebert has good things to say about the flick, complimenting Rob Corddry on a movie- stealing turn as the alcoholic friend and ending with another pro Cusack gem:

“The bottom line is, gross-out guy comedies open twice a month, and many of them are wretched excesses. "Hot Tub Time Machine," which wants nothing more than to be a screwball farce, succeeds beyond any expectations suggested by the title, and extends Cusack's remarkable run: Since 1983, in 55 films, he's never made a bad one. Well, I never saw "Grandview, USA."

Having this man on your side is no bad thing for your movie prospects.

The film opens today, take a look at the trailer:

Irish pubs will open on Good Friday!

Snakes alive! A centuries old tradition is toast this Good Friday: Irish pubs will stay open all day!

Until now Good Friday has been completely off-limits as one of the only two "dry" days in the Irish calendar, the other being Christmas Day, when Irish pubs lock their doors and do without business.

But on Tuesday a Limerick judge ruled that the city's 110 pubs can stay open this April 2 because the city is hosting a major Irish rugby match attracting tens of thousands of visitors.

The local public has overwhelmingly backed the unprecedented move, but Roman Catholic leaders are aghast.

Good Friday is the most solemn day in the Catholic calendar, it marks the day when Jesus Christ was crucified. Local clergy are astonished by the judge's ruling and are making no secret of their objections.

The monks who live near Limerick's rugby stadium said today that they will be praying and protesting outside the gates as 26,000 rugby fans arrive.

It's a case of piety for religions sake but Euros for God's sake.

Shannen Doherty and Kate Gosselin clashed heads on 'Dancing with the Stars'

"Dancing with the Stars" contestants, actress Shannen Doherty and reality television star, Kate Gosselin (above with 'Baywatch' babe Pamela Anderson) are said to have clashed heads on the show this week.

Sources say Gosselin really peeved Doherty off when she told her “I used to watch "90210" when I was a little girl!”

The Star reports that Doherty was fuming and walked away in anger.

Gosselin, a mother of eight, is only three years younger than Gosselin.

It is believed that the show's producers were trying to keep the divas apart to minimize the drama.

They even, apparently, went as far as scheduling their rehearsals at different times so the ladies wouldn't need to have much contact with each other.

A source close to Doherty told the Star, “If Kate doesn’t watch out, Shannen will bring out her claws and go right after Kate.”

The strange thing is we would expect Doherty and Pamela Anderson - also on the show- to be feuding because both women were married to Rick Salomon.

But according to a source on the show the pair are getting on great.

“They get along. They’ve both moved on,” says a source.

South Park calls Sarah Jessica Parker 'Transvestite Donkey Witch'

I'm normally a fan of South Park but this is going way overboard.

As a big fan of the "Sex and the City" star, Sarah Jessica Parker, I really do think she was treated unfairly by South Park creators.

In a segment called, The Tale of Scrotie McBogger, the characters refer to the actress as "ugly" and a "transvestite donkey witch"

In the episode, which also pokes fun at reality TV sisters the Kardashians, the characters write a disgusting book after their teacher makes them read JD Salinger's novel "Catcher in the Rye."

The book mentions Sarah Jessica Parker's name 465 times and each time a character reads it they vomit.

South Park fans thought it was genius.

Parker's husband, Matthew Broderick defended his wife.

"Obviously, I just think it's wrong to make fun of anybody's physical appearance. My wife is a beautiful woman and I know most people agree with me," he said.

I agree Matthew.

Susan Boyle's critics will look very foolish on April Fool's Day

Susan Boyle's birthday is on April Fool's day but the joke is on all her detractors.

The $8 million check she will receive from royalties will certainly make her rivals green with envy and let's check on where their amazing careers have gone since.

Amanda Holden:Who? Did a nasty skit on Susan on British television. She's currently judging something called the 'Dress Jeeves' competition in Britain and desperately trying to stay in the limelight by dishing on Simon Cowell's love life. Whatever happened to her glam new career in America?

Sharon Osbourne: She's even more desperate for headlines and attacked Susan's looks. Her latest Google story has her defending Sandra Bullock in her marriage breakup with Jesse James. Can this woman ever mind her own business?

Lilly Allen: Who? Oh yes washed up British singer who called Subo over rated. Her latest Google headline is a cat fight with Courtney Love at some minor British awards

Diversity Dance group: Remember them? -- they defeated Susan Boyle --so obscure now that there is not even a contemporary news reference to them on Google.

There you have it -- the message is cross Susan at your peril. The stars will align against you!

Screaming fans are making Robert Pattinson deaf

Robert Pattinson is worried that his screaming fans are damaging his hearing.

The 23-year-old actor already suffers from hearing difficulties and believes that his screaming fans are making matters worse.

“I'm almost completely deaf anyway. So I'm worried. I'm very worried,” he said

The famously shy star has made it very clear that he dislikes the hysteria surrounding him and “Twilight” co-star girlfriend Kristen Stewart, 19 and now it seems that his annoyance is getting worse.

Its not only his hearing that has been damaged by crazed fans. Last year, while filming “Remember Me” in New York, Pattinson was his by a cab as he ran from hordes of fans. Perhaps it is all getting a bit too much.

Even though Pattinson surrounded by up to five security guards he finds events such as premieres difficult.

“I never really know what to do with myself before a premiere. I just kind of freak out in the car on the way and then kind of remain in a bit of a daze,” he said.

Miley Cyrus mentor for Siobhan Magnus in 'American Idol'

Miley Cyrus is taking on a new role tonight - mentor for the top 11 contestants in "American Idol."

It'll be interesting to see how someone Miley's age is able to mentor singers like Siobhan Magnus and Crystal Bowersox who take their cues from singers, well, older than Miley.

Miley will also be performing "When I Look at You" on Wednesday night's results show.

Earlier reports - and judge Simon Cowell - had suggested Lady Gaga which would have been well worth tuning in for.

Anyway, we're stuck with Miley.

God alone only knows what the contestants will think.

But then again, Miley has made it big time so maybe youth will beat age on this one!

He may be Hollywood's hottest hunk, with a gajillion female fans and almost a hundred websites devoted to following his every move, but "Twilight" star Robert Pattinson clearly has some self-image problems.

He's already told the world that he smells, likes wearing ratty clothes, isn't any good at sex scenes, didn't ever think he could get a date, and that fans only love his character, Edward Cullen, not him.

Now he's topped himself: He says he thinks he looks like a transvestite.

India not impressed with Lindsay Lohan's antics

Lindsay Lohan’s documentary–making trip to India in December may be under investigation by authorities.

It appears that Linds did not have the appropriate work visa to shoot the documentary, and that might find her in a bit of bother with Indian immigration officials.

Indian authorities are also none too pleased that the starlet claimed that during her trip she had saved the lives of 40 children who were forced into a life of child labor, when in reality she had nothing to do it.

The Daily Telegraph reports that if India rules that Lohan violated any visa rules, she could be placed on an immigration black list.

Ireland ends free Guinness after blood donation

One of Ireland's most unusual traditions, drinking a free pint of Guinness after donating blood, is to be ended.

Diageo, the Guinness parent company, has decided to end the tradition.

“We felt this style and type of donation was not best suited to us now,” said Grainne Mackin, for Diageo. “Guinness has long stopped promoting the product as medicinal and we want to be in full alignment with our voluntary marketing code. It wasn’t driven by any commercial agenda.”

Paddy Bowler, the director of operations at the Irish Blood Transfusion Services, agreed. “The government is going to lower the blood alcohol limits for drivers,” he said. “So we didn’t feel it was appropriate to supply alcohol at the clinics any more, particularly those down the country.”

However some donors are less than pleased.

David Fitzpatrick, 37, a postman from Gorey, Co Wexford, who has been giving blood for 20 years, said he was shocked when he did not receive his pint after a recent donation.

“I thought they’d decided I was getting too old or they’d given me enough black stuff after 20 donations,” he told The Sunday Times. “This won’t deter me. My main reason for giving blood is to help people.”

Fitzpatrick said he had always enjoyed his post-donation Guinness: “I was always informed that Guinness is good for replacing your iron levels and when is a better time to do that than after relieving yourself of a pint of blood?”

Glenn Close to play 'Fatal Attraction' man in new Irish movie

Glenn Close will play a man in a movie set in Dublin, which is due to start shooting in June.

Close has lobbied hard for the movie, "The singular life of Albert Nobbs," based on a short story by George Moore.

The movie set in a Dublin Victorian hotel in the 1880s follows a woman who disguises herself as a man in order to find a job but then falls in love with a woman on the job and tells a guest about it -- a love triangle ensues.

Orlando Bloom and Jonathan Rhys Myers will also star. Screenplay is by Irish author John Banville.

“I didn’t know the story before Glenn came along," said Banville. "It’s not the greatest short story but it has made the most exceptional script. It doesn’t seem like the most likely movie material. It’s a strange story. I can imagine Glenn pitching it to someone in Hollywood — they’d have thought she was mad.”

Close said the movie adaptation would be the challenge of her career. “I believe in this story and its potential to take everyone on a sensuous, funny, heart-breaking, wildly unexpected ride,” she said.

John McHugh, the chief executive of Tyrone Productions, which is making the programme for RTE, stated that using an opinion poll was the most open way of drawing up the shortlist.

“There are a lot of people that you might think should be there and some people you think shouldn’t,” McHugh told The Sunday Times. “That is what gets debate going. The interesting thing is what it says about what we think is important. There is not an enormous spread of women, it has to be said.”

The nominees are:

Music: Bono, Joe Dolan, Ronnie Drew, Stephen Gately, Bob Geldof, Ronan Keating, Phil Lynott, Christy Moore, Daniel O’Donnell, Louis Walsh

She has been told that her first payday since hitting the big time over a year ago will occur on her birthday, when the money will be placed into her account.

Last night, a close friend told the Daily Mail : ‘People have thought of Susan as a millionaire for months already because her album was launched in November but she hasn’t got it yet.
