‘Glee’ star Matthew Morrison is ‘great pals’ with Gwyneth Paltrow

The 'Glee' star struck up a close bond with the actress following her stint as Spanish teacher Holly Holiday in the TV show's second series, and enjoys spending time with the blonde beauty, her husband, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, and their two children Apple, eight, and Moses, six.

He said: "We have a great relationship. She's become a great friend of mine, so have her family and husband. I got to see Coldplay in concert at the Hollywood bowl, they were incredible. It's been really cool being a part of that family, their kids are amazing and I've met so many incredible people through her."

The 34-year-old actor's profile has sky-rocketed since he landed the part of kind-hearted glee club mentor Will Schuester, but the role has triggered rumours about his sexuality.

However, Matthew - who is dating singer Renee Puente - has learnt to ignore the speculation he might be gay, fuelled by his love of Broadway and nimble dance moves.

He sighed to Britain's OK! magazine: "It used to [bother me], but now I'm honestly so comfortable with myself, I don't care! Some of my best friends are gay, so if I were to get offended then I'd be offended then I'd be offending them. I don't think anything's wrong with it because I love my friends whatever they are.

The 'Glee' star feels lucky to be alive after a terrifying near-death experience while trying out the extreme sport when the cord wrapped itself around his neck.

Asked whether there is anything the multi-talented actor can't do, he confessed to Britain's OK! magazine: "I'm not good at golf and I should be better at flossing my teeth. In fact, there are plenty of things. I like pushing myself and usually if I'm not good at something, I just won't do it because I'm a perfectionist. I tried kite surfing and I nearly died.

"The cord that goes around the kite somehow got wrapped around my neck, and the kite was going so fast and was dragging me underwater. I thought I was going to die. Eventually the kite dipped down in the water and released the tension on my neck. It was one of the scariest moments of my life."

Matthew - who has been dating singer Renee Puente for two years - also admitted he was terrified about losing his virginity because his father deliberately scared him off with stories of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) and pregnancies.

He laughed: "My dad was a midwife. I grew up with him telling me about all these pregnancies. But he put me off sex for a long time, I was so scared! I think it was intentional, he'd come home with these vivid pictures of STDs and I'd be like, thanks dad!"

The 'Glee' actress  doesn't find stereotypical beautiful women attractive, but admits she is more drawn to British actresses - with the 'Skyfall' star being a particular favorite.

She revealed: "Someone like Helen Mirren [does something for me]: she's a vixen and she's got a potty mouth and she'd be crazy. When I met her, she was so immediately familiar and hilarious.

"What I love most about British actors is that they don't have to be beautiful to work. Remember Juliet Stevenson in 'Truly, Madly, Deeply'? All those tears and all that snot coming out of her nose? She's beautiful in her own way but not classic looking."

Jane, 52, has been happily married to her partner Lara Embry since 2010 and - although the couple are content - Jane is aware that certain strong-willed celebrities would make her wife jealous.

When asked if there are any actresses Lara would be worried about, Jane replied to Britain's Glamour magazine: "Yes; Jennifer Saunders. I love actresses who make big choices, and she makes huge, gargantuan choices."

The actor - who plays teacher Will Schuester on the hit musical comedy show - insists that although many of the talented cast members are capitalizing on their fame by releasing their own music, they're not in competition with each other.

Speaking exclusively to BANG Showbiz, he said: "We're very supportive. I'm excited because Naya [Rivera] and Amber [Riley] are working on their new albums. I'm really excited for them. I feel like they're voices that should be heard. I respect them as artists."

When pressed further about friendly rivalry amongst the cast, he said: "Not at all."

Matthew, 34, is set to return to his stage roots for an album of Broadway musical covers, which he will release next year, and although he released a self-titled album in 2011, he feels this is the record he should've made all along.

He explained: "Coming from 'Glee', my first album, I really wanted to write some of my own songs just because I wanted people to take me more seriously. 'Glee' is pretty much karaoke, we're doing [songs by] established artists.

"For this album, this is what I should have done from the get-go - it's what I grew up singing. It's all Broadway classics. I spent three months just doing research on pretty much every Broadway song you could ever imagine. It was just an amazing experience. I kind of selected the best 15 songs that would fit me and fit the live show I want to put on."

'Glee' series four starts on January 6th on Sky1.

‘Almost Famous’ actress Kate Hudson is shooting a six-episode arc on the hit show 'Glee' and while she loves hanging out with the rest of the cast, insiders claim she finds Lea trying.

A source told Us Weekly: "Kate says Lea is a nightmare. Once, during a technical delay, Lea snapped her fingers and said, 'Let's go. I have plans!'

"Kate's keeping her distance."

However, Lea insists she and Kate have a great relationship. A representative said: "Lea has had a great time with Kate."

Other guest stars this season include Sarah Jessica Parker after network Fox vowed the show - which experienced a drop in ratings last season - is "poised for a creative renaissance" when it returns in a
new Thursday night slot later in the year.

Fox's entertainment president Kevin Reilly explained ‘Glee’ will become a "show within a show" following some of the McKinley High graduates as they attend a New York performing arts school, as well as introducing "some new faces" at the main Ohio educational establishment.

The actor - who plays high school teacher Will Schuester in the hit musical TV show - thinks the 'Rolling in the Deep' singer would make a great addition to the cast and is hoping it can happen.

Speaking at the UK premiere of 'What To Expect When You're Expecting' at the BFI IMAX cinema in London last night (22.05.12), Matthew told BANG Showbiz: "I'd love to see Adele. I don't think she should sing on the show ... I don't know what she would do but it would be fun to have her on the show!"

Adele could join the illustrious list of guest stars who have appeared in 'Glee' which include Gwyneth Paltrow, Lindsay Lohan and Britney Spears.

Although Matthew admitted fellow British star Cheryl Cole "would be great" in a guest role, he admits the decision lies in the hands Glee's producers.

He explained: "I think they all know who she is, so I think that it's up to them. I will lobby for people that I really want on the show but I haven't done that for her. But there's so many people that want be on that show!"

Nonetheless, the 33-year-old singer-and-actor was full of praise for the 'Call My Name' hitmaker, who has a cameo in 'What To Expect When You're Expecting'.

He said: "It was great working with her, she was amazing, she was very professional and really did a good job and did very well.

"Coming to London a lot, you can't get away from her or go without seeing a picture of her so it was great to finally interact with her as a human being, it was fun.

"I think she's a beautiful woman ... but I'm taken!"

Cameron Diaz, Cheryl and Chace Crawford also walked the red carpet with Matthew at the premiere.

FOX’s hit show ‘Glee’ is famous for their covers of popular songs. When Darren Criss, who plays Blaine, and Matt Bomer, guest starring as Blaine’s brother, performed a rendition of Gotye’s runaway hit song ‘Somebody That I Used to Know’ on April 10th’s episode, they weren’t quite expecting a diss from Gotye himself.

HLNs “Showbiz Tonight” reports that in the wake of the performance, Gotye commented to The Sunday Mail saying that the ‘Glee’ version was "dinky and wrong.”

However, Criss and Bomer have responded no less than graciously to the singer’s views on their duet version of the song. On the red carpet of the Met Costume Institute Gala this past Monday night, Criss said, "That’s a common example of the media running away with something I think was completely harmless."

He added, “’ve been a long time Gotye fan...The fact that Gotye even knows who I am and what my name is, I am super thrilled.”

“I was not mad or disturbed at all by what he said...He’s allowed to say whatever he wants.”

Bomer also commented on Gotye’s comments, saying that “art is totally subjective.”

Following the fallout from Gotye’s response to the duet, the singer clarified his thoughts at a concert in Los Angeles, saying that he was referring to his own song as "dinky" and that he actually thought the Criss-Bomer collaboration was "clever" and a "great idea."

One Direction's hit first single will appear on next week's 'Glee' episode

One Direction's hit first single 'What Makes You Beautiful' will make an appearance on 'Glee' next week in a special Prom episode, accordint to the Daily Mail.

'What Makes You Beautiful' reached number one in the UK and number four on the US Billboard Hot 100.

"To have a song in Glee is just fantastic. We're all big fans of the show and are so excited they chose What Makes You Beautiful for an episode," said One Direction member Niall Horan.

Said 'Glee' star Matthew Morrison: "I’ve just heard of them, they’re really taking over the States."

"We are covering one of their songs on Glee — What Makes You Beautiful. I need to YouTube it to practice."

"They’ve made it now though, they’re on Glee!" he joked. "This will probably help their record sales too."

'Glee' co-stars Lea Michele and Cory Monteith are set to move in-together

The ‘Glee’ co-stars – who have been dating since Lea split with her boyfriend Theo Stockman in February – are reportedly planning to set up home together at the actress’ $1.4 million pad in Los Angeles.

A source told Star magazine: "Lea is telling everyone she's never felt more sure about anything. She's ready for it all, starting with living together and planning their future."

The couple are said to be serious about each other and Lea previously admitted she would only ever consider a relationship with him if it was the real deal, because she didn’t want to ruin their friendship.

She explained: “I think if [an on set romance] was ever going to be an issue, it would have happened by now. I mean, for me, if it was going to happen with anybody, it would have happened with Cory. The moment I met him, I thought, 'This boy is very cute.' But he's like my big brother. He's such a great friend, and I am so happy working with him every day. I'm glad nothing has ever happened because it would have ruined something if it didn't work out."

The troubled actress celebrated the completion of filming of her small cameo role in musical TV show 'Glee' by heading to the Bar Marmont, where she stayed until 1.30am last Friday morning before moving on to a house party until 6am.

According to X17Online.com Paris - who was previously good friends with Lindsay until a falling out - was also spotted at the house last night and the night before, sparking suggestions the pair may have become friends again.

Lindsay was reported to be a "total nightmare" on the set of 'Glee' - which stars Lea Michele, Corey Monteith and Matthew Morrison - because she turned up late and did not know her lines.

A source said: "Lindsay was a total nightmare last Wednesday. She was three hours late in the morning and when she did finally arrive, she just didn't want to be there."

However, her spokesperson Steve Honig claimed it was simply a misunderstanding.

He said: "The production team came to us and said that they wanted to start [with Lindsay] right after lunch, which was at 2. They wanted to begin with Lindsay at 3, so that meant she had a lot of time where she wasn't doing anything. That's why people didn't see her. She was then in hair and makeup and began after lunch at 3."

The troubled actress - who recently won the opportunity to play the role of the late Dame Elizabeth Taylor in 'Liz and Dick' - turned up late on set and is believed to have been unprepared for the role when she arrived to play a part on the musical TV show.

A source told E! News: "Lindsay was a total nightmare yesterday. She was three hours late in the morning and when she did finally arrive, she just didn't want to be there. She did not want to work. She did not memorize her lines and she kept disappearing so no one could find her."

Lindsay filmed the first part of her role in the show - where she is playing herself - last week, but the follow-up shoot was not as successful.

However, Lindsay's spokesperson Steve Honig claimed it was a "misunderstanding" which made her late for her call.

Glee's Matthew Morrison is 'very happy' with girlfriend Renee Puente

The 'Glee' star has been dating Renee Puente since last summer and is pleased to have found love with someone who isn't famous because she gives him the "normality" he needs in his life.

He said: "I'm very happy. Renee's not in the industry - I need that normality. We like to stay home and cook, we're not that Hollywood."

Despite feeling settled with Renee, Matthew insists he is in no rush to have children, even though he has recently spent a lot of time with Sir Elton John and David Furnish's 14-month-old son Zachary.

He told Closer magazine: "I'm not ready for a family yet. I'm mates with Elton John and love his son Zachary, but I'm not broody."

Matthew has previously said he is a very good boyfriend.

He said: "People can think what they like. I know I'm a very good boyfriend. I take it very seriously. I am comfortable in my own skin."

Matthew - who plays teacher Will Schuester in the musical TV show - also revealed how being a household name hasn't changed his outlook on life and is still sensible when it comes to money.

He said: "Yes, I am a household name, but for me it's just another job that I love doing. I still live like a starving actor, to be honest. I'm very frugal with money because I'm scared of losing my job, so I still have starving-actor mentality.

"I'm very tight with money and real estate is the only thing I've put my money into. I've bought a home in Los Angeles. I don't think anyone can be fully prepared for how much this kind of fame can change a person's life."

The troubled actress - who has previously complained about the musical TV series for mocking her stints in rehab - is reportedly in final negotiations to appear on the programme to play herself as one of the celebrity judges in the annual nationals competition, website TVLine reports.

Meanwhile, Whoopi Goldberg has signed on for a stint in the show that is expected to last for three episodes.

The 'Sister Act' star will play Carmen Tibideaux, a professor at New York Academy of the Dramatic Arts (NYADA), the school which graduating students Rachel Berry (Lea Michele) and Kurt Hummel (Chris Colfer) have applied to.

Whoopi's character - who will first appear on US screens on May 1 - is expected to oversee the pair through their auditions.

Although Whoopi is only slated to appear this season, it is possible she may return in the future as Lea and Chris' characters will remain with the show next year, despite graduating from William McKinley High.

Fox Entertainment president Kevin Reilly said recently: "People are going to graduate, and their story lines will carry on through graduation into Season 4, also keeping the William McKinley High School paradigm intact and building in elements of characters who have graduated.

"It's a very cool way they've figured out how to do that."

The 'Independence Day' actor will team up with Broadway star Brian Stokes to play the adoptive parents of the character - played by Lea Michele - and the pair will sing a duet together on a special Valentine's Day episode, TVLine has confirmed.

Although Rachel's parents have often been discussed in the musical TV show, they have never been seen before.

Meanwhile, Corey Monteith - who plays Finn Hudson - has confirmed his character will return despite having graduated from William McKinley High School at the end of the season.

He said: "I will be back. I will be graduating from William McKinley High School and I will be returning to 'Glee' in season four."

Corey was particularly excited to get to propose to on-screen girlfriend Rachel recently.

She said: "I'm so excited. I spoke with Ryan today. We had a great conversation. He told me his plan and I will tell you it's incredibly groundbreaking and it's revolutionary for television, the way he's figured out how to use these graduated high school characters on this TV show."

Lea also admitted she almost cried when Ryan confirmed her return to the show, even though she never doubted her future with the programme.

The Oscar-winning actress has recorded lines for an episode of the musical TV show – starring Matthew Morrison, Lea Michele and Heather Morris – where she will be heard but not seen, although the part whose inner thoughts she will be voicing is not known, according to The Wrap.

The episode, titled 'Yes/No', will feature Matthew's character Mr. Schuester and Jayma May's Emma prominently.

A source told the Daily Express newspaper: "Helen recorded several long, hilarious monologues recently. She visited the kids on set – they had no idea she was coming and were stunned."

'Glee' is renowned for attracting big name stars onto the show, including Gwyneth Paltrow – who played substitute teacher Holly Holliday – and Britney Spears, who appeared as herself.

However, Britney's appearance was not easy for the regular cast members of the show as they had to have special security on the day.

Matthew said: "What was Britney like? I don't know - I didn't get to meet her. Not many people did.

"She had pretty big security around her. We actually had security bands to get onto our set that day."

Rolling Stone magazine slams Irish episode of 'Glee' starring Damian McGinty as a leprechaun

Oh dear, the reaction from Rolling Stone to the Pot O' Gold episode of Glee has been very negative.

It is the episode that featured the debut of Damian McGinty and the Rolling Stone folk were not impressed.

Critic Erica Futterman stated "Glee returned last night after a three week hiatus (thanks, MLB!), with "Pot O' Gold," premised on reaching one's goals. While the characters achieved varying degrees of success in that endeavor by the hour's end, the stale and unfunny "Pot O' Gold" outright failed to keep up the momentum started by the season's first three episodes.

Damian McGinty – one of the two winners of Glee's reality show The Glee Project – made his debut last night as Rory Flanagan, an Irish foreign exchange student staying with Brittany's family. She, naturally, believes that he is a leprechaun and promises him her "pot of gold" if he grants her three wishes. As she is is his only real friend and as he has a massive crush on her, Rory agrees.

He's quite endearing, though you can't understand a word he says until he opens his mouth to cover the Muppets. Rory channels Kermit's discontent over being green, wandering McKinley as everyone exists around him without actually seeing him. His voice is quite lovely, but – though a classic – this extremely mellow tune is not the way to welcome Glee back after three weeks, especially given that it's sung by a new character."

The 'Glee' actress was aware she was a lesbian from an early age but couldn't bring herself to tell her mother and father until she was 32, after talking about her fears with her therapist.

In an interview with TV talk show host Chelsea Lately, she said: "I was living the gay lifestyle prior to [coming out to them).

I was distanced from my parents. And I felt very, very separate from them.

“So I wrote them a letter pouring my heart out. But you're given a stamp and an envelope after you write it!”

However, Jane - who is now happily married to psychologist Lara Embry – had nothing to worry about because her parents were very accepting.
