‘Glee’ star Matthew Morrison is ‘great pals’ with Gwyneth Paltrow

Matthew Morrison and Gwyneth Paltrow

The 'Glee' star struck up a close bond with the actress following her stint as Spanish teacher Holly Holiday in the TV show's second series, and enjoys spending time with the blonde beauty, her husband, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, and their two children Apple, eight, and Moses, six.

He said: "We have a great relationship. She's become a great friend of mine, so have her family and husband. I got to see Coldplay in concert at the Hollywood bowl, they were incredible. It's been really cool being a part of that family, their kids are amazing and I've met so many incredible people through her."

The 34-year-old actor's profile has sky-rocketed since he landed the part of kind-hearted glee club mentor Will Schuester, but the role has triggered rumours about his sexuality.

However, Matthew - who is dating singer Renee Puente - has learnt to ignore the speculation he might be gay, fuelled by his love of Broadway and nimble dance moves.

He sighed to Britain's OK! magazine: "It used to [bother me], but now I'm honestly so comfortable with myself, I don't care! Some of my best friends are gay, so if I were to get offended then I'd be offended then I'd be offending them. I don't think anything's wrong with it because I love my friends whatever they are.

Cameron Diaz enjoys evening with pals Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin

Cameron Diaz

The 'Bad Teacher' actress joined her long-time friend and the Coldplay singer in Los Angeles' upmarket Brentwood neighborhood as the trio indulged in sushi and drinks while they chatted to each other.

Following the meal, Cameron drove off in her Aston Martin car, while Gwyneth and Chris – who have been married since 2003 and have two children, Apple, eight and six-year-old Moses – drove home in their own motor after a rare night out of being photographed together.

Cameron and Gwyneth were spotted laughing and joking with each other when the 'What to Expect When You're Expecting' star had her arm draped over the 'Iron Man' actress' neck while Chris walked behind the pair.

According to reports, Gwyneth and Cameron have grown even closer in recent months as Gwyneth has set her sights on trying to find a perfect man for the 40-year-old beauty.

A source recently explained: "Gwyneth is a nurturer. Cameron is bummed about being single, so Gwyneth sees her as a project. She's trying to set her up with guys!"

Gwyneth Paltrow was terrified about turning 40

Gwyneth Paltrow
The actress – who has two children Apple, eight and six-year-old Moses with husband Chris Martin, 35 – admitted she was not looking forward to reaching the milestone age on September 27 but now that her birthday is over she feels “happy and content”.

She told Us Weekly: "I was really worried about it, leading up to the day, but now I feel really happy and content with my life. I'm excited to move into the next phase. It's much more exciting than I thought it would be.

"I think I try to promote self-growth and reflection for myself every day.”

Although she is an Academy Award winning actress with a rock star husband, Gwyneth insisted they are no different to any other family.

She said: "We have a scrimmage soccer game in our yard every day after school. It's so fun. Though Moses prefers soccer, Apple has been really loving gymnastics.

"I feel that mental happiness and physical happiness are so closely related, and especially for kids, because they have so much energy."

Gwyneth Paltrow credits laughter for her successful marriage

Gwyneth Paltrow
The Oscar-winning actress has been wed to Coldplay frontman Chris Martin for almost nine years and she says sharing a similar sense of humour is part of the reason they're still together.

Gwyneth - who has two children, Apple, eight, and six-year-old Moses, with Chris - said: "We laugh a lot, and at the same jokes. We like the same music and we like to do the same things."

However, the 39-year-old beauty admits having similar personalities is not always a good thing.

She told America's InStyle magazine: "Our artistic temperaments together [is the hardest part]. Artists are sensitive. There are ups and downs, mood-wise. Musicians need a certain gravitas and focus in order to write. The temperament that goes with someone who is creative can be challenging."

Gwyneth also revealed the couple haven't ruled out having more children although she admits it might not happen.

She said: "My brain says, 'Oh, I think I'm done, the kids are so big now, and I don't want to go back to changing diapers.' But a part of me would love to have another. Of course, I'm old now!"

Gwyneth Paltrow admits she and Chris Martin 'fall in and out of love'

Gwyneth Paltrow - who has a seven-year-old daughter, Apple, and a five-year-old son, Moses, with her spouse Chris Martin - thinks their ups-and-downs have only made their union stronger.

The 39-year-old actress said: "My parents were married for 30-something years, and my dad said [it was] because they never wanted to get divorced at the same time.

"I think you do fall in and out of love and you just keep going, and every time you go through a really difficult phase, you rediscover something new and it just gets better. We've been married for more than eight years now, and we're still into it."

Gwyneth also admitted she believes one of the reasons why her marriage has lasted is because she is willing to "compromise" in order to be there for Coldplay star Chris.

She told the new issue of Harper's Bazaar magazine: "I have little kids in school. I want to maintain my marriage and my family, so I have to be here when he comes home."

Explaining that an unnamed friend recently came to her for advice, she added: "She is an actress and in a new relationship with someone else with a big career, and I said this may not be feminist, but you have to compromise. It's been all about you, and you're a big deal. And if you want what you're saying you want - a family - you have to be a wife, and that is part of the equation. Gloria Steinem may string me up by my toes, but all I can do is my best, and I can do only what works for me and my family."

Gwyneth Paltrow cries when she eats pancakes

Gwyneth Paltrow
The 39-year-old actress always loved the breakfast food cooked by her late father Bruce Paltrow but admits tucking in even now makes her feel emotional.

Asked which of her dad's recipes mean most to her, she said: "His barbecued salmon with ginger and thyme and his 'world-famous' pancakes.

"It is hard for me to eat them because I keep expecting him to walk into the kitchen when I do. I make them very rarely and I cry every time. They are the essence of him in a food."

Gwyneth – who has children Apple, seven, and five-year-old Moses with her husband, Coldplay singer Chris Martin – thinks she is a "very traditional" wife who thinks her main responsibility is to her family.

She told the Metro newspaper: "I am very traditional in a 1950s housewife way; cooking, making sure everyone's fed and everything's in order. I think that a wife has a responsibility to make a home and protect the family.

"I also believe that a wife should be able to do whatever she wants and work if she wants. My mother was a less traditional wife than me. She worked to support the family."
