One Direction's movie to examine fans reactions to hearing their music

Poster for "This is Us"

Director Morgan Spurlock - who is helming the documentary 'This Is Us' about the British boy band - was keen to explore "why" certain people were so obsessed with the 'Little Things' hitmakers, and even interviewed medical experts for their opinions.

He told the New York Post newspaper: "We ask the question 'Why them?' We talked to this one doctor who tells us what happens inside a girl's body when she hears One Direction - like what happens in her brain and what goes on inside of her."

As well as exploring fans emotions, the 3D movie will also feature scenes of group hunk Harry Styles shirtless and Spurlock even filmed the five guys using the bathroom at the BRIT Awards earlier this year.

However, it is unlikely that Taylor Swift will appear in the film after Harry - who is joined in the band by Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson - reportedly ordered all footage featuring his ex-girlfriend to be removed.

A source said recently: "During their relationship producers shot Taylor and Harry in Los Angeles and New York City but Harry has ordered that none of it makes the cut. He wants nothing more to do with Taylor, she was a fling and they're done."

One Direction set to buy a customized version of Scooby Doo's Mystery Machine

"Little Things" is one of One Direction's latest songs
"Little Things" is one of One Direction's latest songs

The 'Little Things' hitmakers - Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson - are investing almost £70,000 on a vehicle styled like the van from the popular cartoon series and they hope to use it as a new tour bus.

An insider told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "The boys love cartoons and 'Scooby Doo' is a cult classic.
"They wanted to do something special ahead of their US tour and decided to get a bespoke tour bus created. The guys are desperate to have it shipped over to America so it can join them on tour.

"Scooby's obviously a US import and massive out there so they know the van will be a hit with both the fans - and their mums."

The van - which features a plasma screen TV behind the driver's head and entertainment consoles for each member - may be kept as a British exclusive if management don't feel transporting it to the US is viable.

The source added: "If management decides it's too expensive and impractical then they'll simply keep it as a fun vehicle for travelling from city to city over here [in the UK]."

As well as the band's 1D logo being added to the van, it will also featured entertainment consoles for each band member and a plasma screen on the wall behind the driver.

One Direction star Louis Tomlinson has installed a panic room in his home

Calder and Tomlinson
Calder and Tomlinson
The One Direction star has spent £15,000 to build a safe area in his £2.5 million mansion in Hertfordshire, East England, to keep him and his guests safe after some jealous fans sent death threats to his girlfriend Eleanor Calder, 20.

A source told The Sun newspaper: "Louis loves the fans and isn't overwhelmed with paranoia. He's just a realist about the dangers of being in the spotlight.

"One Direction followers are notorious for tracking the lads down, so that's made him a bit cautious. This is just something that makes him feel safe."

Louis' girlfriend was previously targeted by trolls on Twitter, who sent the brunette beauty photographs of the singer's ex-girlfriend Hannah Walker before he lashed out at the comments made.

He wrote on Twitter at the time: "I'm reading some horrible tweets - very p***** off! (sic)"

Louis, 21, isn't the only member of the group to have high security in their home, with his bandmate Zayn Malik, 20, also having a panic room in his £2 million north London pad.

However, fellow member Niall Horan has insisted he is "carefree" about people trying to intimidate the group - also formed of Harry Styles and Liam Payne - over the internet and doesn't let them bother him.

He said: "It's only brave girls behind a computer, thinking they can say what they want. Other celebrities get freaked out about death threats. I'm carefree about them."

One Direction's mums disapprove of their tattoos

One Direction

The 'Kiss You' hitmakers - Zayn Malik, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne and Niall Horan - are fans of getting inked and while their fans enjoy looking at their quirky designs, their mothers aren't so keen on the idea of their boys going under the needle.

Speaking on UK TV show 'Daybreak', Liam said: "My mum went crazy about the whole tattoo idea."
Zayn added: "Simon [Cowell] hasn't said anything but our mums have been like, 'Maybe you're getting a bit too much'."

Although the group know they will never be able to change their mums minds on tattoos, they do love the support they receive when their family attend their concerts - even if their antics are "embarrassing".

When asked whether they planned to invite their mums up on stage during their show on Mother's Day Louis joked: "Our mums would absolutely poo themselves if we brought them on stage. My mum wouldn't know what to do."

Zayn added: "It's nice it's really nice just to like look out and see your family, however embarrassing they're being, even if they're on the chair dancing like it's just cool."

Liam's mum is so proud that she still can't get her head around her son's fame, as he revealed: "My mum just cries the whole time, my mum literally has not stopped crying for the past two and a half years."

The heartthrobs may have experienced global success with their music, but they also have their sights set further afield.

Louis and Harry both gushed: "I'd love to go into space."

Downton Abbey’s Allen Leech wants One Direction’s Niall Horan to star in PBS period drama

Niall Horan & Allen Leech

Allen Leech, who plays Tom Branson in the period drama “Downton Abbey,” has joked that One Direction’s Niall Horan would be the perfect person to play his son.

The Dublin actor reckons that the Mullingar popstar should make a cameo in the hit show’s fourth series as the blonde pair look quite similar.

Speaking to MTV Leech joked, “You mean, my son? My son Niall Horan. Absolutely, and then we actually do a musical episode and we get the whole of One Direction in."

“I pitched it to Julian (Fellowes, creator and writer). Weirdly enough, he hasn’t gotten back to my email.”

This bunch of One Direction and “Downton Abbey” fans are behind Leech on this one. Make it happen!

Michael Buble’s wife jokes on Twitter that she wishes One Direction’s Niall Horan was her baby-daddy

Niall Horan
Niall Horan
Michael Bublé's wife Luisana Lopilato was joking with the Irish element of One Direction on Twitter. The Argentinian model said she wished that Niall Horan was the father of her child.

Lopilato (25) announced that she was pregnant with Bublé’s baby last week.

On Twitter she wrote “'@NiallOfficial I wish that you could have been the father !! Hahah I went the "wrong direction" @michaelbuble says you can be the stepdad.”

Soon after the honorable Mullingar son tweeted “@lulopilato hahhahahaha! Thanks mike! Much appreciated haha! And Lu it would be an honour !”

What’s going on with Lopilato?! It seems she wants to adopt the whole One Direction band!

Last week after Liam Payne congratulated her on the announcement of Bublé Jr she invited him to become a member of the family.

Although who could blame her. They’re pretty adorable.

One Direction have joined a hunger campaign to help get food to Africa

One Direction
One Direction
The 'What Makes You Beautiful' hitmakers - Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik - appear alongside other big names in an official video for the 'Enough Food If' cause, calling on British Prime Minister David Cameron to take more drastic action in putting a stop to world hunger when the G8 nations meet in the UK later this year.

Harry, 18, opens the video by saying to the camera: "One third of children in sub-Saharan Africa are malnourished."

Zayn, 20, adds: "Big corporations avoid paying millions to Africa every day. If we stop this, all of Africa could have enough food to eat."

'Pirates of the Caribbean' actor Orlando Bloom also appears in the clip, asking: "The world produces enough food for everyone. Why are one billion people going hungry?"

Actor David Harewood, who plays CIA agent David Estes in the hit drama 'Homeland', continues: "When there is enough food to feed everyone, why are 870 million going hungry?"

Other famous names who appear in the video include Microsoft chief Bill Gates, 'Love Actually' actor Bill Nighy and South African social rights campaigner Archbishop Desmond Tutu.

Sarah Jacobs from Save the Children - who are one of the many charities pushing the campaign towards ending world hunger - hopes the famous names will gain them the attention and action they are seeking.
She said: "The last time a campaign came together with this many people involved was Make Poverty History.

"It's a major crisis that we need to tackle. We've made amazing progress in the last few years, but the issue of poverty has been sidelined.

"We need to make sure that promises which have been made by governments about life saving are carried through. World leaders can't ignore us if we come together in our masses."

The campaign - which is also backed by charities including Oxfam, Action Aid, Christian Aid and Unicef - launched in London on Wednesday night.

One Direction star Niall Horan denies rumors he was in car accident at Heathrow Airport

Niall Horan
Despite rumors saying otherwise, One Direction's resident Irish lad tweeted on Wednesday that he was not involved in a car accident at Heathrow Airport in London.

On January 23rd, Horan (@NiallOfficial) tweeted "I was not in a crash and that is not my car," which was followed a retweet of one of his fan's saying "always rumours."

Horan made no further mention of the incident on his Twitter feed after that.

The Sun had reported that eyewitnesses saw Horan crawl out of a vehicle that had skidded on some ice on the road before entering another van.

One Direction was reportedly at Heathrow Airport after returning from doing shows in Japan.

Horan appears to have slid back into his routine of chatting up his nearly 9.4 million followers on Twitter on Thursday when he tweeted "Goodmorning ! What's up? Sorry just been chillin last few days so hadn't been tweetin a lot! What's goin on?"

One Direction are improving their language skills to avoid feeling "embarrassed" abroad

One Direction's music video for "Kiss You"
The 'Kiss You' hit makers were left feeling awkward during a press conference in Japan last week after struggling to communicate with their fan base and although the group - Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson, Harry Styles, Liam Payne and Niall Horan - learnt some basic phrases, they wish they could have "bonded" more with those who look up to them.

A source told The Sun newspaper: "The press conference in Japan got embarrassing because the boys' culture shock was so obvious.

"Over the weekend they vowed to learn at least 20 of the most common words in the languages of the countries they're visiting before they land there.

"They think it will avoid embarrassing moments and build up a bond with fans."

In order to make more of an effort during their worldwide tours in the future, the band have vowed to "brush up" on their skills and educate themselves by watching videos online.

The source added: "They're just going to use YouTube tutorials to brush up on their language skills and think that's going to be enough."

Before they visited Japan, the five British heartthrobs took a trip to Africa to help raise money for Comic Relief's Red Nose Day 2013.

After spending time in the poverty-stricken town of Accra, Ghana, the boys described it as an "amazing" experience.

Niall, 19, posted on his Twitter account: "Just arrived back from Accra, Ghana! Best experience ever! This @rednoseday please get involved!

"Massive thanks to @rednoseday for taking us to Ghana! It was incredible! real eye opener! We take so much for granted over here ! (sic)"

One Direction's Niall Horan buys a Los Angeles house

Niall Horan
Niall Horan

Niall Horan, one fifth of the world famous boyband One Direction has splurged and purchased a $1.5 million new bachelor pad in Los Angeles!

The new home is in a luxury gated complex and has perks like a swimming pool and games room. However, the builders reportedly denied Horan's request for a bar to be included since he's not 21 yet!

A source said:  “The guarded community where Niall lives when he’s in LA is a good investment – and it’s packed with celebrity neighbours."

“As well as the Kardashians, other residents include Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne and Jennifer Lopez."

“Niall wanted a permanent place in the States because One Direction will be spending a lot more time there this year and he didn’t want to stay in a string of hotels."

With the move, Horan has reportedly befriended his young new neighbours, Kendall and Kylie Jenner - the daughters of Kris and Bruce Jenner - and the teenage sisters are keen for him to appear on their family reality TV show 'Keeping Up With the Kardashians'.

The source added to The Sun on Sunday newspaper: “He’s made friends already with his Kardashian neighbours and the younger Kardashian sisters love him and his Irish accent. They’re already talking about getting him on the family’s reality shows and they think he’s sure to say yes because he would find it funny.”

One Direction’s Niall Horan says his Twitter account was hacked - was it just one of the lads?

Niall Horan
One Direction’s resident Irish lad Niall Horan appears to have had his Twitter account targeted again! On January 16, a bizarre Tweet followed a string of the singer’s tweets about his recent trip to Ghana.

Just hours after Tweeting about his charitable visit to Africa with the Red Nose Charity, the Tweet "Have a massive spot on my arse. Wondering should I squeeze it. What do ye think?" appeared on Horan’s feed.

Funny? Sure. But Horan was quick to Tweet that he didn’t know why the Tweet had come up. Perhaps one of the jokesters in One Direction got ahold of Horan’s account?

Soon after, Horan Tweeted "OK I don't know what happened with that last tweet,” and also replied to a fan “I got hacked again.”

Horan had been visiting Accra in Ghana in Africa as a part of the Red Nose Day charity. He tweeted, “Just arrived back from Accra,Ghana! Best life experience ever! This@rednoseday please get involved!” prior to the ‘spot on my arse’ tweet.

Horan’s Instagram was also recently targeted by a hacker. On Twitter, Horan has over 9.1 million followers, making him more susceptible to hacking.

One Direction’s Niall Horan passes license test, splurges on Range Rover

Watch out! Niall Horan is on the roads

Atta boy, Nialler! Mullingar native and one-fifth of One Direction Niall Horan officially passed his driver’s license exam last week, and has reportedly splurged and purchased himself a new Range Rover.

RTE reports that 19-year-old Horan passed his exam in Essex in England last week.

A "source" said: "He stopped to speak with fans and signed lots of autographs during his lessons. He never turned anyone down who wanted to get their picture taken with him. Even with all of that, his instructor was still overheard saying he had never had a pupil so focused on passing his test."

Reports are saying that Horan purchased a new Range Rover, upwards of $100,000, to celebrate his passing the exam.

And, thanks in part to a new contract with One Direction, Horan is more than set financially as long as all the members of the group stick around for at least three years, after which they’ll get their big pay day.

One Direction have signed a new contract which means if one of them quits all the others lose out financially

Teaser from the band's new music video "Kiss You"
The 'Kiss You' hitmakers - made up of Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne, Niall Horan and Zayn Malik - have all agreed to the three-year legally binding document and they won't get their money unless all five members complete it.

A source told The Sun newspaper: "It's a really clever contract that the boys have signed up to. It means they have a real incentive to tough it out and stick together.

"The formal length is for 36 months and an album a year - but the clever part is they get the big pay day after the three years. If one of them walks away before then, then all five miss out on the money.

"They don't miss out on a few quid either, we are talking millions. They all get on really well, but it would be the kind of deal that would see them through the worst aggro possible."

Since forming in 2010 after failing to get through as solo artists on the UK edition of 'The X Factor', the group have enjoyed huge worldwide success and both their albums, 'Up All Night' and 'Take Me Home' topped the charts in several countries including the UK, America and Australia.

The Wanted have offered One Direction to have a brawl

The Wanted have offered One Direction to have a brawl
The Wanted have offered One Direction to have a brawl

The rival boy bands have been locked in a war of words over who is best for months, and Jay McGuiness thinks the only way to settle it will be with a fight.

He said: "It'd have to be a pub brawl, wouldn't it? And we wouldn't be doing any of that fancy fighting. It's not like we know kung fu or anything. We'd just do what boys do."

Jay - who makes up The Wanted alongside Max George, Nathan Sykes, Tom Parker and Siva Kaneswaran - also thinks his group are a dead cert to win.

When asked about the outcome by the Daily Star newspaper, he laughed: "Who do you think?"

Max, 24, also joked about how the feud with One Direction - which includes Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson - started.

He said: "I think they fancy us really. It's just their way of flirting.

"It all started because we said they were like the Jonas Brothers. But we like the Jonas Brothers. We didn't mean it offensively."

The boy band battle stepped up in November when Zayn called Max a "geek" and a "wannabe" on twitter, prompting him to offer to settle their differences over Christmas, when they both played the Jingle Bell Ball in New York.

Max tweeted Zayn: "Tell me you're (sic) problems without the 8 security in NYC... The only problem I have with you is the s**t banter. Grow up son (sic)."

Zayn replied back:"I'd f**king love to, see you in new York big man ha u clown (sic)."

“Air Force One Direction” - Niall Horan and the boys nab a private jet

One Direction

Well that’s one way to kick of the New Year with a bang! Cashing in on a private jet.

Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, and Louis Tomlinson, the One Direction lads, have definitely made it. As if record-breaking sales and incredibly loyal fans around the globe wasn’t enough, the boys who have everything have just bought a private jet.

Whatever the cost the boys will certainly use their new plane during their tours in Europe, Australia, New Zealand and America.

Already, brilliantly, dubbed “Air Force One Direction,” the boy’s new toy cost a whopping $3 million. But with the amount of time these multimillionaire songbirds spend traveling I’m sure it’s worth every penny.

And hopefully this will mean more international concerts and more opportunities for Niall Horan to get home to Mullingar and hang out with his Mammy.

Dubliner Siva Kaneswaran says The Wanted’s rivalry with One Direction hasn’t affected his friendship with Niall Horan

Siva Kaneswaran

Although Niall’s band mate Zayn Malik recently became embroiled in a Twitter fight with The Wanted’s Max George, Siva and Niall have managed to remain friendly against the odds.

He told the Sunday World newspaper: “I’ve met Niall a few times and he’s a sound lad. I have friends who live in Mullingar where he’s from and people there are quite sound. Whenever I see Niall, he says hello and we have the craic.”

While Siva, 24, is enjoying worldwide success with the ‘Glad You Came’ hitmakers, he admitted  being away from his loved ones is tough but he relies on video calls with his family and is girlfriend Nareesha McCaffrey when he is away from them.

He added: “It’s been bleeding mental this year, we’ve been all over the world.

“It’s quite difficult because you’re constantly on the go. You are experiencing things you want the person in your life to experience. But as long as you keep them close and keep in contact and share the day every day by calling.

“And, Facetime on the phone is a life saver. I don’t know how people in this business survived 20 years without it.”

One Direction teases new single ‘Kiss You,’ video to drop next month - VIDEO

One Direction

One Direction stopped by MTV last week and offered some tantalizing teases about their upcoming video for their next single ‘Kiss You.’

The lads were on hand at the US finale of ‘X Factor’ this week as well to perform their upbeat new song, one of the tracks on their record-breaking album ‘Take Me Home.’ Of course, the Irish-English boy band owes all their gratitude to ‘X Factor’ and Simon Cowell, who formed them in 2010.

The video for ‘Kiss You,’ which is scheduled to premiere on January 7, is directed by Vaughan Arnell, who also did the videos for the band’s other hits "Live While We're Young" and "Little Things."

Mullingar native Niall Horan sang Arnell’s praises during the MTV chat.

“I love working with Vaughan. He’s such a nice fella, he gets us,” said Horan. “And he’s real easy to work with.”

The lads described the video as ‘comedy’ and early peaks at the video show the band goofing off and cheesing it up for the camera. Can’t wait!

Check out the One Direction lads in an MTV interview here:

Rumors that Justin Bieber’s ex Selena Gomez is dating One Direction’s Niall Horan are nonsense

Niall Horan

What a tangled web they weave! Rumors that teenage superstars Niall Horan and Selena Gomez are dating are quickly being put to rest under the guise that no one wants to hurt each other’s feelings … or ruin any chances.

Selena Gomez and other pop star Justin Bieber have been making headlines lately with their on-again off-again relationship. With the apparent breakup came rumors that Selena Gomez had her eyes set on Irish cutie Niall Horan.

And how convenient if she had! One of Gomez’s best gal pals, Taylor Swift, is dating Horan’s bandmate Harry Styles. That’s too much star power for one double date if you ask me!

Sources are saying that there is no romance between Gomez and Horan, though. Even further, Horan wouldn’t want to hurt his relationship with Justin Bieber by dating Selena Gomez, and he still apparently only has eyes for Gomez’s other gal pal, ‘X-Factor’ mentor Demi Lovato!

"Niall and Selena are friendly with each other but they don't want to date each other," the source said, according to the Examiner.

"They're not attracted to each other. And if they were attracted to each other (but they're not), Niall wouldn't want to hurt his friendship with Justin [Bieber] by dating Selena. Niall still has a crush on Demi Lovato, who's been Selena's friend for a long time. He wouldn't ruin his chances with Demi by dating Selena."

Another insider said "Justin and Selena don't have full closure on their relationship.”

"They've broken up and gotten back together so many times that it's silly for anyone to think that Niall would want to move in on Selena when there are still some unresolved issues between her and Justin."

One Direction’s Niall Horan will be home for the Christmas holidays in Mullingar, Athlone

One Direction’s resident Irishman Niall Horan
One Direction’s resident Irishman Niall Horan
One Direction’s resident Irishman Niall Horan is very much looking forward to taking a break from being a popstar to return home to Mullingar to spend Christmas with his family and friends.

“I’ve never been away from home for Christmas and I don’t think I ever will be,” Horan told the Irish Sun newspaper.

“I will be back in Ireland again this year — and I’ll be eating until I feel sick!"

“We have little traditions like going to the pub on Christmas Eve and watching telly all day. It will be the same as always and that’s what I love about it.”

Niall’s father Bobby added that his son is no superstar upon arriving home: “I might want to ask a lot of questions about what is going on in the band— but Niall just wants to be himself when he gets home."

“We talk about soccer and everything else like we always have when he gets home.”

Bobby added, “He has the same friends he will call down to. He is just our Niall once he gets back — that really shows the lovely fella that he is.”

But will Niall have a security detail while spending time at home in Mullingar? “The band’s management are sticklers for security and the boys have at least one minder with them wherever they go."

“It is hoped that when they go home for Christmas this can be relaxed but no one wants to take any chances. Their safety is paramount.”

One Direction's Niall Horan to ring in new year in Big Apple

One Direction
Niall Horan will swap the bright lights of Mullingar for the brighter lights Manhattan this holiday season.

According to the Herald, the 19 year old One Direction member may be part of New Year's Rockin' Eve which will be hosted by US X Factor presenter Ryan Seacrest.

The event is transmitted every year to audiences of around 20 million and One Direction, now the biggest pop act in the world, are rumored to watch the ball drop in Times Square at the event this New Year's Eve.

Last month Niall told the press he was looking forward to chilling out in his hometown of Mullingar this Christmas, where he looked forward to getting 'fat' on roast turkey and mince pies.

The young Irish star reportedly couldn't wait to spend the holidays with his dad Bobby, his grandmother Margaret and his newly engaged older brother Greg, who is due to get married in March next year.

'I'll probably go home to Ireland and do the same thing as every year - drink, eat and sleep a lot,' he said. 'I'll just chill out, become fat. We always go to the pub on Christmas eve.'

But now instead of hanging out in Mullingar, Niall may find himself taking Manhattan by storm instead.

If One Direction sign up to perform they'll find themselves sharing airtime with other banner teens stars Justin Bieber, who's scheduled to perform as are the Black Eyed Peas.

And maybe at the New Year's Rockin' Eve we'll finally see the 1D boys dancing Gangnam style, as internet sensation Psy is scheduled to play too.

Oh, and expect some backstage drama when Taylor Swift, 22, who has reportedly been dating 1D star Harry Styles, makes an appearance. Swift has been pursuing Styles but ignoring the existence of all the other 1D lads. That's a major no-no in the fiercely competitive boy band world.
