Conan O’Brien jokes around during his family vacation to Ireland, his ancestral home

Conan O’Brien used some down time from his TBS gabfest to head over to the ancestral homeland last week, or, as he put it on Twitter, “I am back in Ireland, 150 years after the British made me leave for doing a crappy talk show in the village.”

O’Brien traveled to Dublin with his wife and two kids for a few days of R&R. He also was a guest at Trinity College’s Philosophical Society, the go-to location for celebs these days (Whoopi Goldberg was there last month), to accept an award.

O’Brien and his clan happily walked the streets of Dublin, and Conan had his camera out to share some snaps on his Twitter account. One pic was of a “preschool” in Dublin (actually a pub), and another showed the store Knobs and Knockers on Nassau Street, which he captioned, “I’m furious. I went into this store in Dublin and it was NOT what I expected.” Hardee, har har!

The O’Briens bunked at the Merrion Hotel during their three days in the Irish capital, and O’Brien said that he was glad to be back among his people.

"I love it here, I'm 100 percent Irish, every single one of us in my family is, so it's really wonderful to be here. When I was asked to come along I just thought, 'I have to go to Dublin,’” he said.

"The air just feels right here. I live in Los Angeles so my body has been telling me, 'You have to get out of here.’ I think I'll come back and probably impose on people and just stay on their couch."

Conan filmed a segment for his show at the Guinness Storehouse, so look out for it.

Funnyman Will Ferrell, currently doing press for his new film 'The Campaign,' stopped by Conan on Thursday night. Host Conan O'Brien almost immediately knew that something was bothering Ferrell.
Ferrell was at first reluctant to share his emotions with fellow Irish American O'Brien, but soon let loose as to what was bothering him.

In what appeared to be a spoof of super-fan Nutty Madam's tearful video post about Kristen's cheating, he said: "I don't know if you follow the news at all, but there's this actress, Kristen Stewart and she goes by K-Stew, and she had a boyfriend Robert Pattinson - he's R-Patz - and she cheated on him. And they've broken up, they're not going to get back together, ever."

"What they had was so special Conan, you don't even know what they had, they were in love and she just threw it all away."

Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, both of 'Twilight' fame, both made headlines recently when it came to light that Stewart had been cheating on Pattinson with her director from 'Snow White and The Huntsman' Rupert Sanders. Sanders is married with two children. The scandal reportedly left Pattinson feeling humiliated and heartbroken.

"I don't know if there was anything I could have done to prevent this," said a comically emotional Ferrell. "I don't know what it means to the 'Twilight' franchise. It's not going to be fine ever! (shouting) It's never going to be fine.

"She is a trampire, that's what she is!" proclaimed Ferrell, to which the audience responded with laughter and applause.

Conan O’Brien and David Letterman mock their common enemy Jay Leno - VIDEO

Conan O’Brien joined David Letterman on “The Late Show” where they entertained themselves by mocking fellow late night host, Jay Leno.

Over the years, star of “The Tonight Show”, Jay Leno has been favored by NBC over both O’Brien and Letterman. The two hosts spent some time during Conan’s appearance on the show discussing what they have in common.

After O’Brien sat down, the pair shared a long awkward pause before Letterman broke the silence to say, “The longer we sit here, the more uncomfortable it’ll make Jay.”

“You know Jay’s watching right now,” replied Conan.

As they joked, Conan refrained from going into depth about anything that happened with Leno but did put it across that the relationship between the pair is permanently damaged.

In the beginning of the interview, Letterman made it clear that he was overjoyed at Conan’s dismissal at “The Tonight Show”, and watching the events unfold which led to it.

Conan responded saying he was glad somebody was amused by what happened which cracked Letterman up.

The two TV hosts have been linked in many ways in the past, with Jay Leno interfering in both of their careers. NBC offered Jay Leno the “Tonight Show”, over Letterman. After Letterman had left the “Late Night” show in 1993, O’Brien took over. The show struggled with Dave Letterman appearing in guest appearances over the 16 years, before Conan called it a day.

O’Brien was given the “The Tonight Show” in 2009, and after a short 7 months NBC cancelled the show when O’Brien refused to push back the time of his show half an hour for the “Jay Leno Show” which was not doing well at the time. Leno then became the “Tonight Show” host and still has that position.

So, after not appearing on on Letterman’s show for 13 years, Conan and David had some steam to release at their common enemy.

She explained that she could not pass up the opportunity to ask Bachmann to support her rally. When the Congresswoman declined Griffin asked her “Congresswoman Bachmann, were you born a bigot or did you, like, grow into it?"

She replied “That's a good question. I'm gonna have to get back to ya."
