Robin Gibb's Irish wife feels "closer than ever" to the late star after visiting the island he was born

Robin Gibb

Dwina Gibb admits she is going to have a "hard" Christmas without the Bee Gees singer - who died in May aged 62 after losing his long battle with cancer - but in a "strange way" she felt like he was brought "back to life" when she recently visited Rebecca House, a children's hospice on the Isle of Man she supported with her husband.

She said: "Christmas without Robin will be hard for me. But coming to the Isle of Man and visiting the children at Rebecca House brings me solace. Robin felt so desperately sorry for all the children here. One of his last concerts was partly in aid of Rebecca House.

"Before Rebecca House, there was no hospice on the island for children. Parents had to take them to the mainland, which was costly and debilitating. He cared so much about children who were ill and suffering.

"Being at Rebecca House, on the island where Robin was born, has been so very special for me.

"It has made me feel even closer to Robin than ever and, in a strange way, has brought him back to life for me again."

Dwina - who marks her 60th birthday on the same day Robin would have turned 63 - has rarely left the 12th-century abbey in Oxfordshire, south east England, she shared with her husband and their son, Robin-John, 29.

And while she admits it was "incredibly painful" returning to Rebecca House - a hospice for kids as young as six months old who suffer from life-limiting conditions - she plans to go back again at a later date and carry on her and Robin's charity work.

She added to The Sun newspaper: "Going back to the house without Robin is incredibly painful.

"I am going to come back and do an art day with the children. The staff are wonderful and deserve all the support they can get.

"And I am glad I am carrying on the charity work that meant so much to Robin."

Hugh Jackman received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

Hugh Jackman
The 44-year-old actor joked he would use the coveted plaque as a form of "therapy" for his children Oscar, 12, and seven-year-old Ava - who were in attendance for the ceremony alongside the star's wife Deborra-Lee Furness and his 'Les Miserables' co-stars Anne Hathaway and Amanda Seyfried - when they get older as he unveiled the square.

He said:  "Say 10 years from now, when they're remembering all the things I did wrong, it's gonna save a fortune in therapy - they can come here, graffiti it, stomp on it, spill their soda on it, whatever."

Hugh - who also learned yesterday he had been nominated for a Golden Globe award for Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy for his performance in 'Les Miserables' - planned to leave the ceremony to buy a lottery ticket as he felt it had been such a lucky day for him.

And he was particularly pleased his star is positioned by Madame Tussauds Hollywood, where a waxwork figure of himself as superhero character 'Wolverine' is on display.

The actor - who hosted the Academy Awards in 2009 - told E! Online: "It's kind of a surreal day. I'll probably always remember Thursday, December 13 and I think I'm either going straight from here to buy a lottery ticket or to a casino because it just feels like someone is looking down on me in a very nice way at this moment.

"I'm excited. The star is right here outside where I got to host the Oscars and if the movie gets nominated (for an Oscar), it'll be nice to get up there and show a little bit of the show to everybody."

One Direction and the art of making swoon faces - VIDEO

One Direction
One Direction recently opened up about their new video "Little Things" which is a simple black and white clip filmed while they were in the studio.

"It was real nice for us actually because most of the video shoots we do we have to get an early night before cause we know we are going to be so energetic and jumping around a lot," Harry Styles told MTV News. "And this was kind of nice because we just sat there."

Zayn Malik added, "We had a chilled-out day in the studio, and they filmed us chilling out."

Apparently the hardest part of the shoot was making all those romantic swoon faces while singing the lyrics. So how do they get into the mood?

"I think you just get into the song and think about the lyrics and what it means to you," Malik admitted. "You might be looking out at the camera, but you might be thinking about something else. You're not thinking that millions of people are going to watch this, you're just into the song, into the lyrics, you're just feeling what the song is about."

The boys do admit they like to make fun of each other's swoon faces.

"When it's on the screen we take pictures of the screen," Harry Styles said. "We have a really good one, I think I have a picture of Liam."

Liam Payne added, "There's one point in the video where Louis pointed out to me and I didn't realize, but from the angle of the camera ... it looks like I've gone (cross-eyed). The funniest thing is they didn't tell me until they actually cut the video."

AMC's "Walking Dead" gets its Irish up with the ballad "The Parting Glass" - VIDEO

The Walking Dead Season 3 - absolutely terrifying
The Walking Dead Season 3 - absolutely terrifying

I've gotta say I've been a big fan of "Walking Dead" and the season premier last night did not disappoint.  In perfect preparation for Halloween I spent a great deal of yesterday evening hiding behind a cushion on my couch, and it was awesome.

What I was surprised about was when Hershel suggested Beth sing a tune by Paddy O'Reilly. So the farming Greene family are Irish.I must say when Beth and Maggie launched into a harmony of the Irish ballad "The Parting Glass" I was about ready to cry.

Season three joins Rick, his family and the gang eight months on in the post apocalyptic world and things are getting tricky. Lori is about to give birth and then gang breaks in to a zombie infested prison to find shelter. Things are tense, zombies are rampant and the fighting would appear to be getting more gruesome.

I for one am hooked and happily Robert Kirkman, creator of the show, told the Rolling Stone "We haven't even really gotten to the good stuff from the comic book yet."

Colin Farrell channels HoneyBooBoo during ‘Seven Psychopaths’ interview - VIDEO

Colin Farrell
Known for his trademark Dublin accent, Colin Farrell gives his redneck-hillbilly voice a try when an interviewer had him and his ‘Seven Psychopaths’ co-stars read lines from TLC’s hit show ‘Here Comes HoneyBooBoo.’

The show, a spinoff of ‘Toddlers and Tiaras,’ follows the family of pageant star Alana, who are comically redneck, so much so that much of the show requires subtitles even though they are all speaking in English.

In this interview for part of the ‘Seven Psychopaths’ promotion, the interviewer asks Farrell, Christopher Walken and Sam Rockwell to help “tie this into the greatest psychopaths in American pop culture today, HoneyBooBoo Child”’ by reading some lines from the hit show.

Superstar Taylor Swift defends dating high school senior Conor Kennedy in Rolling Stone

Taylor Swift and Conor Kennedy

Pop star Taylor Swift, famous for her songs about love and heartbreak, is on the cover of Rolling Stone’s annual ‘Hot Issue’ for October. In the magazine, Swift defends her romance with 18 year-old Conor Kennedy.

Swift, dubbed the ‘Heartbreak Kid’ by the magazine, tells Rolling Stone that the young Kennedy is “a grown man.”

Not so, when compared to other famous older men the singer has dated, including John Mayer and Jake Gyllenhaal, who were both in their 30s when they dated Swift. Kennedy is only 18, and a senior at Deerfield Academy boarding school, while Swift is now 22.

Swift defended herself to Entertainment Tonight after reports of her flying Kennedy to see her in Nashville in late summer were slammed as “desperate,” as well as a “kidnapping.”

A source told The New York Post about the August meet up: “Taylor missed Conor so much, she sent a plane for him a few days later. He’s been with her ever since, and his family doesn’t know when he will be back. Things have become so serious between them so fast that no one in Hyannis Port would be surprised if they eloped.”

Swift later responded to Entertainment Tonight: “You can't kidnap a grown man! These are serious accusations, now! It's an interesting way to spin something into a story. See, this is why I don't read stuff.”

In Rolling Stone, Swift chats about her views on love: “The way I look at love is you have to follow it, and fall hard, if you fall hard. You have to forget about what everyone else thinks. It has to be an us-against-the-world mentality. You have to make it work by prioritizing it, and by falling in love really fast, without thinking too hard.

“If I think too hard about a relationship I'll talk myself out of it. ...I have rules for a lot of areas of my life. Love is not going to be one of them," said Swift.

"I love the ending of a movie where two people end up together. Preferably if there's rain and an airport or running or a confession of love," she added. "It's a whole Peter Pan, Alice in Wonderland structure here. It's what the inside of my brain looks like, essentially."

'Master' actress Amy Adams thinks weddings are a waste of money

Amy Adams
Amy Adams

The 'Master' actress is engaged to Darren Le Gallo and while she wants to get married, she can't help but think it's a lot of money to spend on just one day.

She explained to PEOPLE magazine: "Weddings are not a good value and I like good value. Still, I'd be disappointed if we didn't have one."

Amy also revealed she is less focused on her career since becoming a mother.

The 38-year-old star gave birth to the couple's daughter Aviana in 2010 and says the youngster is now the most important thing in her world, leaving work in the shade.

She said: "I love my work but I'm becoming more successful at leaving it behind when I'm at home so my daughter feels I belong to her and not the world."

Amy recently admitted Aviana hates seeing her go out to work and she wants to do more to put her family first, without leaving herself unfulfilled.

She said: "I'd like to focus more on spending time with my daughter. My idea was to work a lot when she was young and when she started to be more aware of what was going on, I'd do less.

"She's a little less impressed with me working all the time now. Her lips are starting to turn down when I leave.

"But I have scripts I like and people I want to work with. This can be a fleeting time and I want to take advantage of as much as I can. But I also want to achieve a little more balance. I don't want to look back with any regrets."

Lindsay Lohan has labelled Dr. Phil a ‘fraud’

Dr. Phil
Dr. Phil

The 26-year-old 'Liz & Dick' actress took to her mother Dina Lohan's defence following her shambolic interview with the US chat host earlier this month.

The troubled starlet posted a series of bitter tweets about the TV psychologist on Saturday (29.09.12), most of which she later deleted.

She wrote: "@DrPhil You should be ashamed of yourself. What kind of man takes advantage of a woman @her most vulnerable state? YOU are the fraud."

Dina - who has been called "the worst mother in America" - was slammed by Dr. Phil as a "phony and inauthentic" for appearing intoxicated and making rude gestures during their recent interview.

Up until this weekend Lindsay had not commented on her mother's disastrous appearance, during which Dina lashed out at critics for condemning her parenting skills because of her high profile daughter's numerous stints in jail and rehab.

Lindsay also retweeted a message from a fan on Saturday that said: "ur mom is strong like u, Dr.Phil is an evil guy. Focus on your work linds (sic)".

After deleting the tweets, she wrote: "My last tweet was referencing my amazing, beautiful, talented, strong mother."

Dina also simply responded "karma" to a person who tweeted Lindsay a message saying: "It was painfully clear that @dinalohan was uncomfortable and he exploited her insecurities shamefully!"

Dina has repeatedly claimed her erratic demeanour during her interview with Dr. Phil was because she was so upset and not drunk.

Lindsay Lohan's alleged attacker will not be prosecuted

Lindsay Lohan

The 26-year-old 'Liz & Dick' actress had filed a police report claiming she was choked and thrown to the floor by Christian LaBella after she confronted him for taking pictures of her in a New York City hotel room in the early hours of this Sunday morning.

But a New York City Police Department source told US gossip website TMZ that all charges have since been dropped against the 25-year-old young man.

Christian had initially been charged with two misdemeanor counts of assault and two counts of harassment.
Lindsay - who has been jailed countless times for charges stemming from DUI (Driving Under the Influence) and misdemeanor possession to grand theft - was earlier said to be determined that Christian was prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

The actress claimed the young man befriended someone in her group at 1 Oak nightclub with the intention of getting closer to her.

She said they later got into a heated physical argument after she found out he had taken more than 50 photographs of her and was emailing them to his friends.

Lindsay reported the incident to police at 4:30am and alleged she was choked from behind and thrown on to the ground in her room at the W Hotel in Manhattan where she was staying with friends.

One Direction's Harry Styles uses '50 Shades of Grey' to improve his performance in the bedroom

The 18-year-old singer insists the best-selling novel - which tells the story of a billionaire introducing a young college graduate to the world of bondage and kinky sex - is "educational" and he's found the tome helpful and "interesting".

He said: "I haven't bought it, but a female friend of mine was forcing me to read it out to her the other day.
"They were like, 'Just borrow this,' and I was like, 'Hmmm'. It seems interesting. I could probably learn from it, I don't know. I feel like it's an educational and interesting read."

Harry has become friends with a number of stars such as Kate Moss since he shot to fame with boy band One Direction, but he still finds it hard to believe that he is mixing with people like the supermodel.

Harry - who along with his bandmates shot to fame when they finished third on 'The X Factor' in 2010 - explained: "It's cool with people like Kate Moss, I wouldn't say I was really good mates with her, but it's weird for her to go, when I saw her at the Olympics, 'Oh Harry, come over.' That's a bit weird.
"Kate was probably getting massive at the same time my mum was giving birth, so it's a bit strange."

While Harry - who dated 32-year-old TV presenter Caroline Flack, 14 years his senior, earlier this year - has picked up a reputation as a bit of a party animal, he isn't worried about going "off the rails" because he is sure his friends and family would be able to "protect" him.

He added in an interview with The Sun newspaper: "As for becoming a hellraiser? I don't like going crazy, crazy. I like having fun but it's nice to just wake up in your own bed isn't it? I can see how you get dragged into the bad stuff, but I've got good friends around me.

"I don't look at myself as the Robbie Williams of the band. I don't think that kind of comparison is on any of our minds.

"If I did go off the rails, I think that to a degree a lot of people like to protect me, so they would step in. At the same time my close friends know I'm not stupid. They know I'm not going to do stupid stuff, so they like to just help me through."

'Smash' star Anjelica Huston says her father made her feel unattractive

The 61-year-old actress was devastated as a teenager when she heard her actor dad John Huston say he thought she would grow up to be "plain" and his remark made her feel very insecure about her appearance.

She said: "I was not at my happiest in my late teens. I went from confident and secure to shy and insecure and back again.

"I wish I could have been more accepting of myself. I had once overheard my father saying, when I was about 15 or 16, that I might turn out to be plain. That was a particularly unattractive moment for me.
"My nose was growing and my chin was receding, by comparison, and no one knew more than me how plain I felt."

Anjelica - whose mother Enrica died when she was 18 - also admitted that working with her father on one of her first movies was such a bad experience, it put her off acting for many years.

She told The Sun newspaper: "I made a big mistake at 18. I appeared in my father's movie, 'A Walk With Love and Death'. It was a personal disaster for both of us.

"I don't think we said more than 10 words to each other during the making of the film. I was reluctant and he was parental.

"The whole experience turned me off acting for about the next 10 years. I didn't go near another film set.

"My father really gave me the part as a present and I didn't identify with it. I didn't know what I was doing and I wish I'd been better prepared."

One Direction Liam Payne dating Leona Lewis two weeks after splitting with girlfriend

The ‘One Direction’ star - who split from his girlfriend of two years Danielle Peazer just two weeks ago - is said to be already “loved-up” with the ‘Trouble’ singer after two dates.

A source close to Liam told the Sunday Mirror newspaper: “He is ¬really excited about how things are going with Leona.

“As soon as the chance came to ask her out he grabbed it – and they really enjoyed their dates together.
“Although they were in London they managed to stay out of the limelight and are really into each other.”
The 19-year-old heartthrob has admitted on several previous occasions that he holds a special place in his heart for the 27-year-old songstress.

He said: “My celebrity crush has gotta be Leona Lewis – everybody on my Twitter will know that. Love Leona.”

Leona originally dismissed the ‘What Makes You Beautiful’ singer’s public declarations of lust, saying: “He’s sweet. But they’re, like, two.”

But the ‘Collide’ singer later revealed the two had grown close after fans encouraged her to follow him on twitter.

Last September she said: “I met him and he is just the sweetest boy – he is so lovely, so I’m really pleased everyone got me to follow him.”

Now the pair are said to be completely smitten with one another after enjoying two romantic dates together over the past week.

Leona was reported to still be in a relationship with long-term boyfriend Dennis Jauch earlier this month but the according to the newspaper they also recently split after two years together.

‘Top Gun’ star Tom Cruise not ready to date after Kate Holmes split

The actor – who split from Katie Holmes in June after five years of marriage – has enjoyed a series of late nights out in London recently but pals insist he is not ready for a new romance.

A source close to the actor told People magazine: "When he's in London he's going to be seeing his friends. [But] there is no mystery woman."

The 50-year-old star is said to have made a number of new friends in the city and enjoys letting his hair down after long hours working on the set of his new sci-fi thriller ‘All You Need Is Kill’.

The actor was spotted partying until 3 a.m. at Annabel's nightclub earlier this month, where he reportedly chatted up several fellow-club goers.

The source said: "Tom loves the people here [in England]. They're friendly."

But three months after his third divorce, Tom – who has most recently been linked to actress Cameron Diaz - is apparently not ready to move on with a new girlfriend just yet.

The father-of-three is said to be focusing on his career and children, particularly his youngest daughter Suri, who lives in New York City with Katie.

Tom's attorney Bert Fields recently claimed the 'Top Gun' actor was so keen to be informed about Suri's upbringing he was calling her as often as twice a day.

He said: "Tom has been in England shooting a film. He calls Suri every day, sometimes twice a day.

"He loves Suri and is a constant presence in her life.  As in the past, when he's shooting in a foreign country, he has to rely on daily phone calls."

Robert Pattinson will only take Kristen Stewart back if she marries him

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart
Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart
The 26-year-old actor – who was left devastated when his 'Twilight' co-star publically admitted this summer that she had cheated on him with her 'Snow White and the Huntsman' director Rupert Sanders – is said to be "desperate" to get back with the brunette beauty, but he wants her to "truly commit" to him.

A source said: "Rob told Kristen the only way he can forgive her affair is if she truly commits to him.
“Rob has been keen to marry Kristen for quite a while and he doesn’t want to get back with her unless he knows she means it for life too.

“Although Kristen broke Rob’s heart he has realized he can’t live without her. He never stopped loving her and he believes she still loves him.

“He is desperate to make it work and wants to give her another chance but not unless she proves she really wants it too.”

Robert – whose 'Twilight' character Edward Cullen marries Kristen's alter-ego Bella Swan in the film franchise – had plans to pop the question to Kristen shortly before she broke the news about her infidelity, and while she has previously not wanted to rush into marriage, the 22-year-old star "will do anything" to win him back.

An insider added to the Daily Star Sunday newspaper: “They have both talked openly about marriage before and she’s been telling him for years that she doesn’t want to rush into anything.

“But Kristen will do anything to get back with Rob now and one of the conditions is to discuss getting married and the future. Rob is very romantic and traditional.”

Robert Pattinson blames the women in his life for his sensitive nature

Robert Pattinson
Robert Pattinson
The ‘Twilight’ star recently reconciled with long-term girlfriend Kristin Stewart after her affair with her ‘Snow White and the Huntsman’ director Rupert Sanders and has so far refused to discuss the cheating scandal.

But the 26-year-old heartthrob has admitted he is very sensitive in the new book ‘Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner – In Their Own Words’ by Talia Soghomonian, The English actor said: “I guess I’m like relatively sensitive. Also, I had two older sisters so I grew up with lots of girls and so I guess I kind of have a different mentality cause of that. And I never really played any team sports or anything, (laughs) so I guess all those things add up to that.”

Meanwhile, Robert has weighed in on speculation he is in the running to land the lead role in the big screen adaptation of the bestselling novel ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’.

He said: "I think the author has written me out of it. I saw some interview recently, and they went 'Oh, it could never be him.' And I'm like: 'Hey, I'm going to make you pay for that.’

"It's funny seeing all these other actors so openly vying for it. I've never seen that happen before. It's so strange. I haven't read the whole thing. I read bits of it, there's a book called ‘Fifty Sheds of Grey’. Have you seen that book? That's amazing, just a picture book of fifty grey sheds, and it's literally on the New York Times Best Seller list. People have got the wrong read."

Bradley Cooper’s romance with Zoe Saldana is back on

Zoe Saldana and Bradley Cooper

‘The Hangover’ actor was spotted leaving Zoe's Hollywood home in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The on-off couple met up again later yesterday for a cosy cinema date at the Arclight Dome Theatre on Sunset Boulevard, where they watched the controversial new Scientology-inspired movie ‘The Master’.

The former co-stars – whose relationship seemed awkward at the premier of ‘The Words’ earlier in September - appear to have rekindled their casual romance after breaking up in March.

A source close to the ‘Avatar’ actress said at the time: “They’re definitely not together. She and Bradley weren’t super-serious at all.”

While Zoe’s love life appears to be going well, the actress has had a tough time recently after the Hollywood Reporter revealed she has been cast as Nina Simone in the upcoming biopic ‘Nina’.

Some critics began an online petition at Change.org calling for the movie’s director Cynthia Mort to hire another actress “who actually looks like Nina Simone”, claiming Zoe’s skin tone does not match Simone’s dark complexion.

Blogger Tiffani Jones wrote on her blog Coffee Rhetoric: “Hollywood and the media have a tendency to whitewash and lightwash a lot of stories, particularly when black actresses are concerned.”

Jos has rekindled her friendship with ex-boyfriend "Dawson's Creek" co-star Joshua Jackson

Joshua Jackson and Katie Holmes
Joshua Jackson and Katie Holmes
'Inescapable' star Joshua - who is in a long-term relationship with German actress Diane Kruger - has revealed is thrilled to have reconnected with his former 'Dawson's Creek' co-star after she called him following her recent divorce from Tom Cruise.

The 34 year old said they had a lot to catch up on during a recent phone-call.

He told ‘George Strombolopolous Tonight’: "Like any old friend, it was like, 'Oh, hi how are ya? What's going on?' 'I had a kid'; 'Yeah, that's crazy, I heard!'... It was nice, it was very nice, actually."

Katie and Joshua dated during the first season of the popular TV series in 1998 but only recently got back in touch following the mother-of-one's split from Tom Cruise in June.

Canadian-born Joshua also recently revealed that although it's unlikely, he might still be willing to reunite with Katie on screen for a Dawson's Creek reunion.

He said: "Well, we killed the show so I don't think that's ever going to happen. Never say never. If I'm out of work for enough years, absolutely. We'll be old and grey and nasty by the time (that happens)."

Joshua has been happily dating Diane since 2006 but the couple are more interested in having children together than getting married.

He said: ''Kids are one of those things that kind of happen, aren't they? Certainly we're working on it if that's what you're asking."

One Direction band member Zayn Malik has reveled that the boys invented their own secret language to communicate with one another, according to Entertainmentwise.com.

Malik told BOP Magazine that he, Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Liam Payne, and Louis Tomlinson occasionally use their private language but he refused to give any examples.

"We say odd words that only we know what they mean."

“We use it occasionally, and it’s just banter between us but we think it’s funny."

“It’s a secret, I can’t give any more away.”

Although the One Direction singer was recently linked to 20-year-old model Cara Delevingne, he is said to be besotted with the 37-year-old ‘Torn’ singer after they both attended James Corden’s recent wedding.

A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “Everyone was talking about how Harry was really smitten with Natalie.

“They got on like a house on fire and were clearly very into each other.

“The next morning Harry was given a grilling by the other guests. He was overheard telling one that he thinks Natalie is an amazing woman.”

Harry, 18, and Natalie were greeted by catcalls at breakfast when they arrived at the same time although it is unclear if it was a coincidence or not.

Meanwhile, Harry and his One Direction bandmates performed a cover of Natalie’s single ‘Torn’ when they performed at the iTunes festival in London.

His friend DJ Nick Grimshaw, who was in the audience, wrote on twitter: “They are doing a cover of Torn by Natalie Imbruglia. LOLLLLZZZZ (sic).”

Valentino Garavani has designed Anne Hathaway’s wedding dress

Anne Hathaway and Valentino Garavani
Although the actress has tried to keep all details about her upcoming wedding to Adam Shulman under wraps, the legendary designer revealed he “did the dress” for her big day.

Valentino also revealed he thinks of Anne as a daughter and believes her latest movie ‘Les Miserables’ will make her an even bigger star than she already is.

He added to E! News: "She's a very good friend of mine.  She's like my daughter!

"She's sensational. She's fantastic. She's a girl that...She deserves what she has in this life. [That] means, she's already a great star. But she's going to be a great, great, great, great thousand times great star. She has all the qualities.

"And wait until you hear her voice [in ‘Les Miserables’]. She's amazing."

Anne previously insisted the nuptials won’t take place until 2013 as she is too busy this year with the release of blockbuster movies 'The Dark Knight Rises' and 'Les Miserables'.

She said: "We're getting married, probably sometime next year-ish. Not this year, its too big with two films coming out.

"I haven't started planning yet. I was filming 'Les Mis' when we decided to do it, and there was no way I could think about anything wedding-related with my head in the space it was in then. I've been so busy since then, I've not even decided what sort of ceremony I want."
