The Wanted have offered One Direction to have a brawl

The Wanted have offered One Direction to have a brawl
The Wanted have offered One Direction to have a brawl

The rival boy bands have been locked in a war of words over who is best for months, and Jay McGuiness thinks the only way to settle it will be with a fight.

He said: "It'd have to be a pub brawl, wouldn't it? And we wouldn't be doing any of that fancy fighting. It's not like we know kung fu or anything. We'd just do what boys do."

Jay - who makes up The Wanted alongside Max George, Nathan Sykes, Tom Parker and Siva Kaneswaran - also thinks his group are a dead cert to win.

When asked about the outcome by the Daily Star newspaper, he laughed: "Who do you think?"

Max, 24, also joked about how the feud with One Direction - which includes Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson - started.

He said: "I think they fancy us really. It's just their way of flirting.

"It all started because we said they were like the Jonas Brothers. But we like the Jonas Brothers. We didn't mean it offensively."

The boy band battle stepped up in November when Zayn called Max a "geek" and a "wannabe" on twitter, prompting him to offer to settle their differences over Christmas, when they both played the Jingle Bell Ball in New York.

Max tweeted Zayn: "Tell me you're (sic) problems without the 8 security in NYC... The only problem I have with you is the s**t banter. Grow up son (sic)."

Zayn replied back:"I'd f**king love to, see you in new York big man ha u clown (sic)."

The Wanted's Siva Kaneswaran says they were broke before finding success

The Wanted
While the 'Glad You Came' hitmakers have had a hugely successful year, breaking the lucrative US market and supporting Justin Bieber on tour, Siva Kaneswaran admitted when they started out, the group struggled to make ends meet.

He told the Sunday World newspaper: "I'm not gonna lie, we are quite comfortable now. But it was never about the money. In the beginning, we spent 18 months doing school and club gigs with nothing coming in. We were all in the red before our big break. Now we can focus on what's really important in life, the music and taking care of family."

While the band are looking forward to a busy 2013 with the release of a new album, Siva is looking forward to a quiet Christmas first.

He said: "There are some pubs in Dublin where I like to sit in a corner and enjoy a drink. And I have a couple of country pubs in Longford and Cavan where I go. They have massive big fires and nobody really knows me there, it's brilliant."

The Wanted’s Max George thinks Lindsay Lohan is a ‘good girl’

Max George
The Wanted singer has defended the 'Liz & Dick' actress - who was arrested last week (22.11.12) after allegedly starting a violent nightclub brawl over him - and isn't worried about the potential legal implications of her actions.

Max was asked by a TMZ cameraman: "Are you praying for Lindsay to get out of trouble?"

He laughed: "She's fine. She's out of trouble", before adding as he made his way into LAX airport in Los Angeles: "She's a good girl."

The British boy band were heading home after performing at KIIS FM's 2012 Jingle Ball on Monday evening and Max appeared unconcerned about the plight of his party-loving friend, who was booked for misdemeanour assault and has faced jail time in the past.

Lindsay, 26, reportedly punched psychic palm reader Tiffany Mitchell at New York's Avenue club last week before hurling racist insults at her because she was jealous when the handsome 24-year-old singer started talking to her.

Max previously insisted he wasn't the root of the altercation, saying: "It wasn't me. I didn't instigate anything. It was nothing to do with me."

The flame-haired star - whose bank accounts have been seized - is allegedly relieving her stress about her worrying financial situation and her impending probation violation with daily vodka binges to numb the pain.
She could face up to 250 days in jail and is due to be formally charged on December 15 for lying to police about being behind the wheel of a car during a crash in June, which is a direct violation of her 2011 probation.

The Wanted's Jay McGuiness has publicly demonstrated his support for Lindsay Lohan

The Wanted
The Wanted singer was spotted wearing a homemade 'Free Lindsay' t-shirt on stage during the group's concert in New York just hours after she was charged with assaulting Tiffany Mitchell during a bar fight over his bandmate Max George.

According to EOnline.com the 22-year-old star proudly wore the statement top printed in pink block letters over with what appeared to be an image of a smiling woman throughout the band's warm up performance for Justin Bieber at Madison Square Garden last Thursday night.

The 'Mean Girls' actress was taken into custody in the early hours of Thursday morning and booked for misdemeanour assault after spending the evening with Max, Jay and their fellow bandmate Tom Parker, 24, at Avenue night club after their concert earlier that night.

Lindsay had set her sights on hooking up with Max, 24, and reportedly became "enraged" when she saw 28-year-old fortune teller Tiffany talking to him.

An onlooker said: "The four of them - along with a friend of Lilo's (Lindsay Lohan) - were drinking before heading off to Avenue club together.

"Come 4am, Lilo seemed quite drunk and you could see it was turning Max off. He then began talking to another woman, which is believed to have enraged Lindsay."

But the 'Liz and Dick' star's attorney Mark Heller has disputed reports she was under the influence of alcohol and drugs.

He told E! News: "I can tell you when I was with her this morning, she was in great condition. She was certainly not intoxicated, certainly not under the influence of drugs. She was clear [and] lucid, her eyes were clear. No alcohol involvement whatsoever on this occasion."

The 26-year-old actress, who received further support from Demi Lovato on Twitter earlier yesterday, was also formally charged with lying to the police over her car accident in June just hours after the night club arrest.

The Wanted plan to face off with One Direction in New York after Twitter feud

The Wanted (left) and One Direction (right)
Following Max George and Zayn Malik's feud on twitter - which culminated in the 'Little Things' singer calling infamous lothario Max "Chlamydia boy" - The Wanted star has invited his chart rival to confront their issues when they come face-to-face at a concert in the States.

Speaking backstage at the Detroit Jingle Bell Ball, Max told Channel 955: "I'm not sure what his problem is to be honest. It started off that I thought we were just having a bit of banter, but he seemed to get a bit serious.

"I tried to palm it off as being friendly again, but you can only take so many insults and eventually I just said, 'Alright listen - if you've got a problem, come and see me in New York when we're there doing a gig together and we'll sort it out'."

The older boy band think their younger 1D rivals  - who previously branded them "two-faced" - are immature and insist their dig at Max wasn't founded on truth, despite him breaking up with girlfriend Michelle Keegan after allegations he cheated on her.

Jay McGuiness, 22, joked: "I don't think it's based on any fact. It's like when kids in the playground go 'Poo Breath!' - rarely has that kid actually eaten faeces. I think he was just taking a stab in the dark."
Max, 24, added: "I think he's probably just finished Sex Ed so he's like 'Yeah whooo!' "

One Direction in Twitter feud with The Wanted - it all started when Zayn Mailik called Max George a "geek"

The Wanted and One Direction in Twitter feud
The Wanted and One Direction in Twitter feud

What began as perhaps a lighthearted feud between boybands One Direction and The Wanted has taken a turn for the worse. Dubbed the "battle of the boy bands" by the Global Grind, the online fight seems to be real.

According to the Examiner, it all started when Zayn Mailik called Max George of The Wanted a "geek."

George then tweeted a photo of singer PSY, writing: “Psy and me getting messy #geekandproud.”

Zayn Malik then tweeted:

“The first step is totally acceptance. #geekoftheweek. You display just how much of a wannabe you are.)”

Max then replied:

“That’s not very nice, @ZaynMalik. I was just starting to like you and your RnB songs, too.”

Tom Parker of The Wanted went on to say: “Zayn Malik had his '1 Stripes' knickers in a twist, bro.”

Malik retaliated later, tweeting:

“Mate, if I had a face like yours, my hair would be the last thing I would worry about. : )”

“Pipe down bad boy,” was the response.

Zayn Malik of One Direction later responded with:

“Let’s not even discuss vocal ability, boys. : ). I would love to chat but have to run through rehearsals.”

“Enjoy rehearsals,” said George. “Stay off the bud … It makes you cranky.”

The Wanted have reportedly said before that the One Direction band members were not very kind.

In an interview with UK magazine, Louis Tomlinson said,"If you want to create a rivalry, let's do it."

The Wanted would love Justin Bieber to join the group

Justin Bieber

The British boy band - Max George, Jay McGuiness, Siva Kaneswaran, Tom Parker and Nathan Sykes - think the Canadian pop heartthrob would fit in perfectly with them and would be a dream extra bandmate.

When asked who they'd pick if they could have one more member in the group, Nathan said: "Bieber would be absolutely mint."

The 'Glad You Came' hitmakers are also convinced Justin would gain them even more female fans.

The boys get sent thousands of letters and packages from their admirers but they admit not all the fan mail they receive is appreciated.

Tom revealed: "One of us got sent a voodoo doll before."

The band were quizzed by fans for a special show to be broadcast on music TV channel VIVA, and they had some fun with some of the questions.

When asked what their biggest fear is, Nathan cheekily said: "Waking up after a nightmare, turning over and Max is there!"

While Tom joked he is scared of his bandmates, saying: "My biggest fear is these four, I hate you all."
'VIVA Asks The Wanted' will be aired on VIVA on Saturday (03.11.2012) at 10:30am.

The Wanted are a ‘ropier’ version of One Direction

The Wanted
The group admitted they are sick of being compared to their pop rivals but Jay McGuiness can see the funny side of it.

He told the Daily Star newspaper: “It is depressing. But we are hairier and more decrepit. We are the ropier version.”

The Wanted – comprised of Jay, Tom Parker, Max George, Nathan Sykes and Siva Kaneswaren - recently admitted they probably do not have as many supporters as One Direction but think their strength would be more than a match for the other fans if a fight broke out.

Max said: "I wouldn't advise One Direction fans to fight with ours because our fans are really tough.

"Although, the quantity of theirs is probably a little bit larger. So, I think it'd be a good fight."

Both groups cracked the lucrative US market this year but the 'Chasing The Sun' hitmakers don't think America is ready for a reality show featuring their wild antics.

Jay said: "We won't get a TV show because only New York and LA would like us. The rest of America would think we were Satan-worshipping evil b******s."

One Direction and The Wanted go to war - who is more popular in the United States? - VIDEO

One Direction Versus The Wanted

A battle of the bands has begun. Comments between the boy bands One Direction and The Wanted are heating up to see which band will come out on top in America.

Max George from The Wanted said to The Sun, “Our song is No4 in the charts. Maybe when [One Direction] have a song next to us in the charts over there, they’ll be competition” and One Direction told Heat Magazine that they are shocked that Max would say that and angry that The Wanted are brushing them off.

Both bands have been referencing their place in the charts and awards to bolster their claim to top band. One Direction recently won several awards at the VMA’s including best new artist.

Tom Parker, a member of The Wanted said Monday in a radio interview on Radio One Breakfast Show that his band covers more genres of music. After BBC host Chris Moyles implied that One Direction was more popular, Parker said, “Our new single I Found You is a bit different. We like to mix it up. We try not to be stereotypical.”

Max has said that “there’s no rivalry” but both bands are quickly working their way to the top of the charts. The Wanted’s song has reached number four in the charts and this week One Direction’s album became number one in the iTunes chart.

However it ends, both bands already have large fan bases in America. One Direction was forced to change floors in a New York Hotel to escape an invading group of fans and Niall Horan cut short a sightseeing trip in Times Square because of screaming fans. The Wanted will play on Jay Leno’s chat show and MTV’s Spring Break show in the upcoming weeks.

Which band do you think will rise to the top?

The Wanted's Dubliner Siva Kaneswaran to wed girlfriend Nareesha McCaffrey

Dubliner Siva and girlfriend  Nareesha McCaffre
The Wanted singer Siva Kaneswaran has revealed he will definitely propose to his girlfriend Nareesha McCaffrey.

The Wanted’s Siva Kaneswaran will “definitely” marry his girlfriend Nareesha McCaffrey.

The Irish singer revealed he is so smitten with the luxury shoe designer that he thinks they will be together forever.

When asked on NBC Live in the US “Do you think you’re going to marry this woman?” Siva replied, "Yeah definitely”.

However, his bandmate Nathan Sykes was quick to jump in, joking, “He only said that because he knows that she's watching."

Meanwhile, it was recently revealed The Wanted’s Max George is planning to stay celibate on the band’s US tour in order to win back his former fiancee Michelle Keegan.

A source said: "Max is serious about behaving himself - in real life and on his phone.

"He's been telling friends he wants to persuade Michelle to take him back and is dedicated to not having relations with any other women.

"It's not going to be easy while the band are on tour. They are constantly surrounded by women they're meeting for the first time but Max is committed to the challenge."

The 'Chasing The Sun' hitmaker split from Michelle in July after he was pictured kissing another girl in a club.
The ladies' man was also accused of sending racy text messages to old flame Bobbi Aney, who claimed the pair had enjoyed a phone sex fling while he was in a relationship with the pretty soap star.

The Wanted were impressed by Britney Spears' Southern charm

The Wanted with Britney Spears

The British boy band supported the singer on her 'Femme Fatale Tour' when it came to England last year, and the five guys were all won over by her stunning smile.

Jay McGuiness said: "Everyone knows Britney, like from the age of being a kid you saw her swinging herself around in a school uniform and to see that smile in real life was like really surreal but great. She's got that Southern charm, that Southern Americans have and it was really cool."

The band - which also includes Max George, Siva Kaneswaran, Tom Parker and Nathan Sykes - are also fans of Justin Beiber, and have joked he has finally become a man since turning 18 in March.

Joking about how his voice has got deeper, Tom told Australian TV's 'The Morning Show': "Yeah, I think his testes have come down a couple of inches! He's a really nice bloke. He has done a lot of growing up over the last couple years, musically and as a person. He is a really nice guy."

The Wanted are currently touring in Australia, but Max is still plucking up the courage to fulfil one of his daredevil dreams while there.

He explained: "I want to swim with sharks. I've always wanted to do it. I want to go in a cage with Great Whites but I'm not too sure Sydney is the place to do it.

"I might do it on the next trip, maybe if we go to Perth."

The Wanted are excited about collaborating with Jennifer Lopez

The Wanted
The band's Tom Parker revealed that their bosses are in talks with her people about a possible project together and indicated that he and fellow members Siva Kaneswaran, Jay McGuiness, Max George and Nathan Sykes can't wait.

The 23-year-old told the Daily Star: "There's talk of us at the moment doing something with J.Lo, how cool would that be?"

Tom added that her musical talent isn't the only reason why the group are keen to hook up with the Latin-singing star.

He continued: "She's got a great arse. Our two labels are in discussions. It would be a dream come true for us."

The musical outfit first met Jennifer earlier this year when they performed on 'American Idol' which she is a panelist for.

The 42-year-old judge clapped and sang along as they belted out their track 'Glad You Came'.
She later grabbed Max for a hug before he planted a kiss on her cheek during his performance.

He later took to his twitter page calling the experience "one of the best days of my life."

Niall Horan and One Direction say The Wanted can support them on tour- VIDEO

Currently performing their first headline tour in the U.S., One Direction have offered their rivals The Wanted, a support gig on their tour!

Band member Louis Tomlinson joked that the Irish-British boy band would be only delighted to have them as a support act.

"We are hoping that they'll still get on with us, because, you know, there is potentially a spot on our arena tour for them to support us," Tomlinson told The Mirror.

Tomlinson  added: "I was going to say something rude then. Or something sexual. But that's something The Wanted would say."

The “What Makes You Beautiful”  hit makers arrived in Boston last Sunday to kick off their U.S. tour.
Tweeting to his fans on Thursday night, the Mullingar native Niall Horan said the boys had a great show.

“Incredible gig in fairfax tonight! Sooooo loud ! On another level! We had soo much fun on stage! [Sic]” said the Mullingar native.

The Wanted 's Siva Kaneswaran found a fan amongst his belongings when he moved house

The Wanted 's Siva Kaneswaran
The Wanted heartthrob was confused when he saw an unlabelled box amongst his belongings in a moving truck - and was even more surprised when he discovered its contents.

He said: "We moved out to different apartments and we had a moving vans going all over London.

"And in my moving van there was an unknown box and in that box was a fan and the fan was in there for about three hours. And so I got out and saw this random box and I opened it up and the box is lined with plastic and there was a girl ... a red faced girl sweating! She stank. She was in there for three hours. She wasn't supposed to smell like roses, was she?"

Despite his surprise, Siva - who is joined in the group by Nathan Sykes, Max George, Jay McGuiness and Tom Parker - wasn't angry with the fan and even posed for a photograph with her.

He told AOL: "I got her out of the box and she asked for a picture. So I gave her a picture and then I sent her on her way. She deserved a picture I think."

The Wanted wreaked havoc when filming their music video for 'Chasing The Sun' in America

The Wanted
The recording for the band consisting of Siva Kaneswaren, Max George, Jay McGuiness, Nathan Sykes and Tom Parker proved inconvenient for residents of Los Angeles when equipment resulted in a blackout.

After an electrical transformer they were using blew, the 'Glad You Came' stars were forced to apologize to those in the neighbourhood.

A source told The Sun: "The lads went from door to door saying sorry to most of those whose nights had been ruined."

The entertainers' tune has been chosen as the lead track on the 'Ice Age 4' soundtrack however people living in the area found it difficult to appreciate their situation when the band caused their lights to go out.

The source added: "It was funny in a way but a load of the neighbours were ready to punch them - it was just the lads' manners that saved the day."

The Wanted perform at America's Billboard Awards on Sunday where acts including Katy Perry, Justin Bieber, Usher, Kelly Clarkson and Nelly Furtado will be in attendance.

Justin Bieber punched The Wanted’s Irish singer Siva Kaneswaran at “The US Voice” - VIDEO

Justin Bieber on stage with The Wanted

Excuse us? Yep. You read that right. Not only that but he punched him twice, where it hurts!

According to reports in the UK’s tabloid newspaper, The Mirror, Justin Bieber punched Siva Kaneswaran, the Irish member of top band The Wanted, where it hurts, twice.

Apparently the rest of the boys from The Wanted just looked “on in horror”, and shouted a couple of curse words at The Biebs as the unlikely scene unfolded backstage at “The US Voice” in LA.

Oh but don’t worry, the unprovoked attack was a joke…erm? Ha? Ha?

The Wanted had just performed their new single, “Chasing the Sun,” which is featured on the “Ice Age 4” soundtrack.

Jay McGuinness, one of The Wanted boys, explained, “Justin Bieber is a prankster.

“He pranks people all day. Although I’m not actually sure that what he did to Siva was a prank…We’d done the show and Justin basically just came up and punched Siva hard in the b****. And then did it again. Siva wanted to hit him back, but you can’t go around smacking kids… he’s only little.”

The Mirror commented that Bieber wasn’t fully grown yet, remarking that they’re “not even convinced he’s been through puberty.”

These punches don’t really seem like they were part of a joking romp though. It seems The Beibs really hurt the over six-foot Blanchardstown boy.

Tom Parker said, “Siva limped into the dressing room and asked, ‘Why’s he picking on me?’ It was funny.”

Not my idea of a joke anyway.

I don’t blame Kaneswaran for plotting his revenge. The Biebs better watch his back next month when he’s set to share the stage with The Wanted boys at Wembley stadium, in London.

Kaneswaran said, “Who’d win in a fight, me or Bieber? Exactly. But you cannot go around hitting children. And anyway, he’s got million dollar sperm… I couldn’t possibly go there.

“But I’ll get him back...”

We’re right behind you Kaneswaran.

Here’s are The Wanted performing “Chasing the Sun” on “The US Voice”:

Britney Spears rep hits back at The Wanted over alleged 'false allegations'

Britney Spears battles with The Wanted
A representative for the 30-year-old pop singer has hit back at claims the boy band made in a radio interview on Monday.

Siva Kaneswaren, Tom Parker, Max George, Jay McGuiness and Nathan Sykes claimed the star's management asked them to face a wall while she emerged from her dressing room.

However her spokesperson has brandished the 'Warzone' singers' comments as "false claims".

They told E!: "What's even more interesting than the false allegations they made is the fact that they have claimed to be picked on by two female popstars in just a few days.

"Look out Lady GaGa - there are still three days left this week."

The band labeled Christina Aguilera "a bitch" after meeting her backstage on The Voice USA, where they claim she refused to speak to them.

Max told 92.3 NOW FM: "She was a bit scary to be honest."

Tom added: "She's a total bitch! She might not be a bitch in real life but to us she was a bitch. She just sat there and didn't speak to us."

Nathan explained: "She might have been in a bad mood that day - didn't she completely par Justin Bieber as well? He went in for a hug and she was like, 'Get away from me'."

The Wanted were not allowed to look at Britney Spears while supporting her on tour

The Wanted and Britney Spears
The 'Glad You Came' singers claimed that they were subjected to the diva treatment by the star’s team when they were the opening act for her Manchester concert last year.

The group – consisting of Max George, Jay McGuinness, Tom Parker, Siva Kaneswaran and Nathan Sykes - revealed they were not allowed to face the 'Toxic' performer when she exited her venue changing room.

Tom spoke up during an interview on New York radio station Fresh 102.7.

He admitted: "We signed a confidentiality thing that we should never say anything about what happened, but let's tell it anyway."

Siva said: "I was in the hallway with my tour manager. Basically we were looking with a laptop, trying to get WiFi... facing the middle of the hallway. [Britney's] bouncers came down with her and told us to face the wall."

Tom continued: "As Miss Spears is walking through. We're like, come on!"

Siva added: "We turned around and I faced a wall for about 10 seconds until she got really far away."

The Wanted have branded Christina Aguilera a 'total b***h'

The Wanted say Christina Aguilera is nothing special
The 'Glad You Came' hit-makers claim the 31-year-old singer was "scary" and refused to talk to them when they met her backstage at US talent show 'The Voice'.

Singer Tom Parker told Now FM: "She's a total bitch! She might not be a bitch in real life but to us she was a bitch. She just sat there and didn't speak to us."

Band mate Max George added: "She was a bit scary to be honest."

Siva Kaneswara said: "You know what, she was quite rude."

The boy band - completed by Nathan Sykes - claimed 'The Voice USA' panelist even shunned Justin Bieber when he attempted to embrace her.

Nathan said: "She might have been in a bad mood that day - didn't she completely par Justin Bieber as well? He went in for a hug and she was like, 'Get away from me'."

Max kissed Jennifer Lopez following The Wanted's performance of 'Glad You Came' on 'American Idol' earlier this month, and when comparing the 'On The Floor' hit maker with Christina, he insisted the blonde singer is "nothing special".

He explained: "J Lo is hot you know, Christina's nothing special."

The Wanted have the "perfect" track for Justin Bieber - UK / Irish band want to work with "Boyfriend" singer

The Wanted looking to team up with "The Biebs"
The 'All Time Low' group once toured with the 'Boyfriend' singer, and would love for him to work with them on record in the future.

Singer Tom Parker said: "He was really nice. A really, really nice guy."

Bandmate Jay McGuiness added: "We talked about collaborating, and we have a song that we think he'd sound great on."

The boy band - whose song 'Glad You Came' has just gone double platinum by selling over two million copies - area also hoping to work with singer Chris Brown at some point.

Siva Kaneswara said: "We've talked to Chris Brown as well, which would be really good. We talked to Chris actually when we were on 'The Voice,' and he said he was down as well."

Tom added: "It's all up for discussion," while Max George said the group also have a song they would Chris would sound "great" on.

The band - completed by Nathan Sykes - have previously said they are confident of their continued success, as their songs keep getting better.

Jay said: "You always want to do better than your last song, and we've always set a really high standard with 'Glad You Came' already. But I think we know now from the singles we've got in our pocket, there's no way we're going anywhere. We're here to stay, and our songs are going to get better and better. I'm just bragging so hard right now."
