The Wanted have offered One Direction to have a brawl

The Wanted have offered One Direction to have a brawl

The rival boy bands have been locked in a war of words over who is best for months, and Jay McGuiness thinks the only way to settle it will be with a fight.

He said: "It'd have to be a pub brawl, wouldn't it? And we wouldn't be doing any of that fancy fighting. It's not like we know kung fu or anything. We'd just do what boys do."

Jay - who makes up The Wanted alongside Max George, Nathan Sykes, Tom Parker and Siva Kaneswaran - also thinks his group are a dead cert to win.

When asked about the outcome by the Daily Star newspaper, he laughed: "Who do you think?"

Max, 24, also joked about how the feud with One Direction - which includes Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson - started.

He said: "I think they fancy us really. It's just their way of flirting.

"It all started because we said they were like the Jonas Brothers. But we like the Jonas Brothers. We didn't mean it offensively."

The boy band battle stepped up in November when Zayn called Max a "geek" and a "wannabe" on twitter, prompting him to offer to settle their differences over Christmas, when they both played the Jingle Bell Ball in New York.

Max tweeted Zayn: "Tell me you're (sic) problems without the 8 security in NYC... The only problem I have with you is the s**t banter. Grow up son (sic)."

Zayn replied back:"I'd f**king love to, see you in new York big man ha u clown (sic)."

Dubliner Siva Kaneswaran says The Wanted’s rivalry with One Direction hasn’t affected his friendship with Niall Horan

Siva Kaneswaran

Although Niall’s band mate Zayn Malik recently became embroiled in a Twitter fight with The Wanted’s Max George, Siva and Niall have managed to remain friendly against the odds.

He told the Sunday World newspaper: “I’ve met Niall a few times and he’s a sound lad. I have friends who live in Mullingar where he’s from and people there are quite sound. Whenever I see Niall, he says hello and we have the craic.”

While Siva, 24, is enjoying worldwide success with the ‘Glad You Came’ hitmakers, he admitted  being away from his loved ones is tough but he relies on video calls with his family and is girlfriend Nareesha McCaffrey when he is away from them.

He added: “It’s been bleeding mental this year, we’ve been all over the world.

“It’s quite difficult because you’re constantly on the go. You are experiencing things you want the person in your life to experience. But as long as you keep them close and keep in contact and share the day every day by calling.

“And, Facetime on the phone is a life saver. I don’t know how people in this business survived 20 years without it.”

The Wanted 's Siva Kaneswaran found a fan amongst his belongings when he moved house

The Wanted 's Siva Kaneswaran
The Wanted heartthrob was confused when he saw an unlabelled box amongst his belongings in a moving truck - and was even more surprised when he discovered its contents.

He said: "We moved out to different apartments and we had a moving vans going all over London.

"And in my moving van there was an unknown box and in that box was a fan and the fan was in there for about three hours. And so I got out and saw this random box and I opened it up and the box is lined with plastic and there was a girl ... a red faced girl sweating! She stank. She was in there for three hours. She wasn't supposed to smell like roses, was she?"

Despite his surprise, Siva - who is joined in the group by Nathan Sykes, Max George, Jay McGuiness and Tom Parker - wasn't angry with the fan and even posed for a photograph with her.

He told AOL: "I got her out of the box and she asked for a picture. So I gave her a picture and then I sent her on her way. She deserved a picture I think."

Justin Bieber punched The Wanted’s Irish singer Siva Kaneswaran at “The US Voice” - VIDEO

Justin Bieber on stage with The Wanted

Excuse us? Yep. You read that right. Not only that but he punched him twice, where it hurts!

According to reports in the UK’s tabloid newspaper, The Mirror, Justin Bieber punched Siva Kaneswaran, the Irish member of top band The Wanted, where it hurts, twice.

Apparently the rest of the boys from The Wanted just looked “on in horror”, and shouted a couple of curse words at The Biebs as the unlikely scene unfolded backstage at “The US Voice” in LA.

Oh but don’t worry, the unprovoked attack was a joke…erm? Ha? Ha?

The Wanted had just performed their new single, “Chasing the Sun,” which is featured on the “Ice Age 4” soundtrack.

Jay McGuinness, one of The Wanted boys, explained, “Justin Bieber is a prankster.

“He pranks people all day. Although I’m not actually sure that what he did to Siva was a prank…We’d done the show and Justin basically just came up and punched Siva hard in the b****. And then did it again. Siva wanted to hit him back, but you can’t go around smacking kids… he’s only little.”

The Mirror commented that Bieber wasn’t fully grown yet, remarking that they’re “not even convinced he’s been through puberty.”

These punches don’t really seem like they were part of a joking romp though. It seems The Beibs really hurt the over six-foot Blanchardstown boy.

Tom Parker said, “Siva limped into the dressing room and asked, ‘Why’s he picking on me?’ It was funny.”

Not my idea of a joke anyway.

I don’t blame Kaneswaran for plotting his revenge. The Biebs better watch his back next month when he’s set to share the stage with The Wanted boys at Wembley stadium, in London.

Kaneswaran said, “Who’d win in a fight, me or Bieber? Exactly. But you cannot go around hitting children. And anyway, he’s got million dollar sperm… I couldn’t possibly go there.

“But I’ll get him back...”

We’re right behind you Kaneswaran.

Here’s are The Wanted performing “Chasing the Sun” on “The US Voice”:
