Peaches Geldof wanted to follow in her family's footsteps by giving her son a "ridiculous" name

The 24-year-old blonde - whose sisters are called Fifi Trixibell, Little Pixie and Heavenly Hiraani Tiger Lily - decided to name her one-month-old tot Phaedra Bloom Forever because she felt it was her duty to adhere to her family's tradition of mad monikers.

Peaches - whose father is Sir Bob Geldof and late mother is Paula Yates - told Britain's HELLO magazine: "I wouldn't be a Geldof if I didn't get stick in the press about my ridiculous choice of names. I've got to uphold the family's tradition. His full name is Phaedra Bloom Forever, which I think sounds like a rock star.

"We chose Bloom because my middle name is Honeyblossom and also in homage to Nirvana's 'In Bloom'. Forever we chose purely because it sounded cool."

Peaches' son Phaedra shares the same birthday as Paula - who died from an accidental heroin overdose in September 2000 - and she believes it is a sign her mother is watching over her.

The star - who also has 13-month-old son Astala with her musician husband Tom Cohen - said: "It wasn't an option. Maybe it is if you go private, but we didn't and were given the date randomly by a consultant. I was pretty amazed when I read it though, and had to smile. I couldn't help feeling mum must have had a hand in it."

Peaches Geldof displays impressive diamond rings after Christmas wedding

Geldor's engagement ring
The socialite - who is married to musician Tom Cohen - posted a picture on Instagram of the shiny diamond ring he gave to her at Christmas as well as her wedding band and engagement ring.

Accompanying the image. she wrote on Twitter: "My amazing engagement ring with my wedding band and the new Tiffany gold and platinum band Tom gave me as my Christmas pressie from him (it matches his wedding band) (sic)."

Peaches and Tom married in September last year at St Mary Magdalene and St Lawrence Church in Davington, Kent, South East England.

The church holds special significance for Peaches, 23, as it was where her mother and her father, Bob Geldof, had their wedding blessed after earlier marrying in Las Vegas in 1986. It is also where Paula's funeral was held after she died of a drug overdose in 2000, but she said she could feel her at the wedding.

She said: "I feel her presence all the time but especially today.

"Mum loved family celebrations and she would adore Tom and the fact that we've married here.

"I know that she is watching over me and feeling so happy for us."

Peaches is currently expecting her second child with Tom, which will be a brother or sister to nine month old Astala.

Peaches Geldof is pregnant with her second child

Peaches Geldof and her baby son Astala

The 23-year-old socialite - who already has seven-month-old son Astala - is expecting another baby boy with her rocker husband Tom Cohen, but admitted she is nervous about becoming a mother again so soon.
Peaches - who is into her fourth month of pregnancy - told Britain's HELLO! magazine: "Finding out I was pregnant again so soon was quite a shock. Tom was so happy. He loves being a dad so much and is brilliant with Astala, who totally adores him, so he was over the moon.

"I, on the other hand, did have a momentary panic and go, 'Oh my god, we're going to have a one-year-old and a one-month old! How will we cope?' "

The blonde star - who is the daughter of Bob Geldof and his late ex-wife Paula Yates - is planning to move out of London to raise her sons in Surrey, South East England, and she and Tom are delighted that Astala will have a brother to play with.

She explained: "There are massive benefits to having two children so close together. Astala's such a happy, sociable little boy, I think he will adore having a sibling... As much as I would love to have a daughter one day, I am thrilled Astala will have a brother. They can share clothes and toys and do boy stuff together."

Peaches plans to name her son Phaedra, and she explained: "It's a name that comes from an ancient Greek play. But it also features in a song Tom and I both love called 'Some Velvet Morning' by Lee Hazlewood."

Peaches Geldof was told she'd never have children

Peaches with her baby boy and father Thomas Cohen
The 23-year-old star - who has six-month-old son Astala with husband Tom Cohen - suffered from polycystic ovaries so knew conceiving would be difficult, and then experienced further problems three years ago when she was rushed to hospital after an ectopic pregnancy.

Speaking of her first diagnosis at 17, she told ELLE magazine: "I was really upset because I always knew I wanted kids and then I was told I would need major intervention if that was to happen."

Of her ectopic pregnancy, she added: "I woke up in the night in the worst pain. It was like something was ripping me apart. I had no idea I was pregnant.

"I was taken to hospital and they discovered what it was. I was told if I had left it even three more days I would have died. But I had to have an operation and the doctor told me he'd have to remove my fallopian tube. I was crying and begging him not to. When I woke up, he told me he'd saved the tube but it was badly damaged and my chances of having kids had gone from slim to almost non-existent."

Peaches says her ordeal destroyed her relationship - though she wouldn't reveal the man's identity - and left her suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder, and she even considered freezing her eggs in a bid to protect her fertility.

She said: "Afterwards, I suffered from post-traumatic stress. My relationship ended because of it and for me it was just more sadness to carry.

"I was thinking about freezing my eggs and all these things, but you have to face the idea you just won't have children."

The socialite wed musician Tom Cohen at the St Mary Magdalene and St Lawrence Church in Davington, Kent, Southern England, the village where she was raised.

The church has special significance for Peaches' family as it is where her mother, the late Paula Yates, and her father, Bob Geldof, had their wedding blessed after earlier marrying in Las Vegas in 1986.
The church is also where Paula's funeral was held in 2000.

Peaches, 23, and Tom, 20, exchanged vows in front of a small congregation at the church, before moving on to a reception in the grounds of, Davington Priory, where Bob still lives.

A female vicar was seen outside of the church ahead of the ceremony, wearing a traditional black shirt and collar teamed with a white patterned skirt.

On Friday (07.09.12) Peaches - who has a five-month old son, Astala, with Tom - expressed her excitement for the forthcoming nuptials on twitter, writing: "Very soon my engagement ring will have a wedding band under it! SO excited- my last few days of not being a wife!!!! (sic)."

The marriage is a second for Peaches, after her brief marriage to American musician Max Drummey, whom she wed in Las Vegas in 2008. The couple split in February 2009 but were not officially divorced until April 2011.

Peaches Geldof has confessed she feels older than her years

Peaches Geldof - feeling old
Peaches Geldof - feeling old
The 23-year-old - who gave birth to her first child Astala in April - believes the lack of sleep and demands of being a mum have made her feel aged and have led to her having plenty of early nights.

Peaches - who is engaged to musician Thomas Cohen - said: "I feel like an old granny when I fall asleep at 8pm, exhausted from the baby's 6am wake-up call.

"I walk in on my 16-year-old sister Tiger still asleep in bed at 3pm, having partied with her friends here all night long."

The former wild child - the daughter of Bob Geldof and the late Paula Yates - recently took the tot away on his first holiday to Majorca and she admits the trip away just reaffirmed how much she is loving motherhood.

In her exclusive blog for HELLO! Online, she said: "Astala is getting bigger by the minute! At 17lbs he's a big, tall baby and making my arms ache carrying him down to the beach.

"But his chubby little legs are so cute and I can't stop cuddling him, so I guess it's a win-win situation!"
When she isn't busy caring for Astala Peaches is busy planning her forthcoming wedding to Thomas.

One decision she has made is that her dad Bob - who first found fame in The Boomtown Rats - won't be performing at the reception. She revealed: "If my dad played at my wedding I think everyone would find it massively uncomfortable, can you get more cheesy than your father serenading you and your husband with a medley of his greatest hits?  I'd have nightmares forever!"

Peaches Geldof believes having a child has brought her closer to her late mother Paula Yates

Peaches Geldof
The 23-year-old socialite was due to give birth to baby Astala on April 24 - the same birthday as her late mother Paula Yates, who died in September 2000 of an accidental heroin overdose - and, although he was born six days prematurely, she felt the date was "a little wink" from her mother.

She said: "I've felt mum's presence all the way through my pregnancy and that has been really comforting. Becoming a mum has made me feel closer to her than I have ever felt, but it's also made me miss her more than ever.

"It has been upsetting for me that she hasn't been around to guide me and advise me and share in it all. She would have been such a cool grandma."

Peaches - who has three sisters, Fifi, 29, Pixie, 21, and Tiger, 15 - is also following in her mother's footsteps in the way she is weaning her newborn, and is amazed by the bond they have established already.

The blonde star - who is engaged to musician Tom Cohen - added: "He sleeps in bed with me and Tom, just as I and my sisters did with mum and dad in our early infancy. And I feed him myself on demand, like mum did with us. The bond I have with Astala when I'm breastfeeding is something which is so incredibly special. The realisation that I am his source of life, that my body is producing what is keeping him alive is amazing."

Peaches father is Live Aid co-founder Bob Geldof.

Bob Geldof "doesn't know" how to pronounce his grandson's name

Bob Geldof
Boomtown Rats front man Bob Geldof admits he is unhappy with the moniker his 23-year-old daughter and her partner Tom Cohen chose for their baby, Astala Dylan Willow Cohen-Geldof, and suggested an alternative for the two-week-old tot.

Asked how to pronounce the baby's name on 'Lorraine', he said: "Shut up, I don't know. I don't know, I haven't said it yet - I can't bring myself to say it.

"I wanted to call him Leonard - Leonard Cohen. 'Have you met my grandson Leonard Cohen?' But he's a fantastic little chap."

Bob - who also has daughters Fifi Trixibelle, 29, and Pixie, 21, with late ex-wife Paula Yates - is thrilled at how well Peaches and Tom have settled into family life.

He added: "He is cute and they're really good parents so it's great. They're really happy."

Bob is very happy that Peaches - who was previously married to Chester French drummer Max Drummey - has settled down with Tom - particularly because he likes the S.C.U.M. rocker's music.

Asked if he is happy Peaches is with Tom, he said: "I am, and he's a great guy, but importantly he's a fantastic musician - really, really good. I'm so thrilled that I can go to the gigs and not have to say, 'That was quite good,' I mean an amazing band. So it excites me actually, aside from the fact he's Astala's dad."

Bob Geldof thinks Astala Dylan Willow Cohen Geldof is a girly name

Peaches Geldof and her husband Thomas Cohen
Cranky grandpa alert – Sir Bob Geldof loathes the name of his first grandchild so much that he desperately wants his daughter Peaches to make a switcheroo in favor of something more manly sounding.

Baby Astala Dylan Willow Cohen Geldof entered the world a couple of weeks ago, and though Papa Geldof is happy to finally have a lad in the family after siring three girls, he thinks the child is going to be up for heaps of ridicule thanks to his name.

“Yuck, gawd, that is still the name. I’ve been begging them to change it.  What’s he going to be called in school? Ass? Stella? It’s a girl’s

name, let’s face it,” 60-year-old Geldof complained during a radio interview in Perth, Australia last week.
Well, Sir Bob is the king of christening children with monikers that could only lead to torture in the schoolyard. Besides Peaches Honeyblossom, he and his former wife Paula Yates had two other daughters, Fifi Trixibelle and Little Pixie – not exactly names in the Ann and Mary stable of normalcy.

But Geldof says there were genuine reasons behind the untraditional names.  Fifi was named after his Aunt Fifi who is still alive at 103. "When Peaches popped out, I mean literally, she had that beautiful, English peaches and cream complexion," the Irish rocker and humanitarian said.

"The same was true with Pixie; when she came out she was all scrunched up with pointy ears. She looked like a pixie. So it's all very logical, but Astala, where's the logic?"

Nonetheless, Geldof is happy that Astala – born in London to Peaches, 23, and her 20-year-old British musician fiancĂ© Thomas Cohen – has entered the world.

"I've swam in estrogen my entire life and now finally a little chap, it's great," he said.

Geldof also hopes to pass on his love of reading to Astala, noting that he grew up in Dublin without at TV at home and used to read for entertainment.

"The greatest pleasure in my life are books, I just read non-stop,” he said.

Peaches Geldof has given birth to a baby boy

Thomas Cohen and Peaches Geldof
The 23-year-old star and her fiance, rocker Thomas Cohen, became parents to a baby boy - who they had previously announced they planned to name Astala Dylan Willow - earlier this week and couldn't be happier.
Peaches tweeted: "yes, it's true - I'M A MUMMY!

"My little boy is the most beautiful thing in this world. When he holds @tomfromscum's finger with his hand its the sweetest thing ever. (sic)"

Tom added: "I'm a dad he is the most perfect thing ever so proud of his beautiful mum @peaches_g and overcome with joy x (sic)"

Peaches' publicist later confirmed the news, but didn't say when the baby had been born.

He said: "Peaches and Thomas are delighted to announce the birth of their son Astala, both were overjoyed at his arrival this week."

Peaches - whose father is Boomtown Rats frontman Bob Geldof - previously revealed she had been due to give birth on April 24, the birthday of her late mother Paula Yates, who died from a drugs overdose in 2000.
She said: "It was amazing for me when they told me that, very emotional and touching and just really beautiful. I was so happy.

"I feel like it’s a little wink from my mum; her way of sending a message to let me know that she’s watching over me and my baby."

Peaches Geldof's baby is due on her late mother Paula Yates' birthday

Peaches Geldof and Thomas Cohen
The TV star is expecting a boy on April 24 which is the same date her mum Paula Yates, who died of a drugs overdose in 2000 aged 41, was born and Peaches believes the significant date is a sign that her mother is "watching over" her.

The blonde beauty - who is expecting the child with her fiance Thomas Cohen - said: "I feel like it's a little wink from my mum - her way of sending a message to let me know she's watching over me and my baby.

"It was amazing for me when they told me that, very emotional and touching and just really beautiful. I was so happy.

Peaches - who is planning a "traditional wedding" with her 22-year-old fiance, who fronts of punk-rock band S.C.U.M - revealed her dad was "overwhelmed" when they told him about their engagement over the festive period.

She explained: "I knew he would be happy about it. I didn't realize how over the moon he would be. He's always been very supportive of me but he was really overwhelmed and emotional.

"He offered Tom a glass of champagne and told me he was glad it was Tom because, of all the boyfriends I've had, he's the favorite.

She said: “I got engaged six months ago, but we are only just making it public now.

Peaches - whose whirlwind marriage to musician Max Drummey ended in divorce after just six months in 2009 - says the couple are currently concentrating on renovating the new house they have just bought.

She told Britain's Star magazine: “We’ve just bought a house together in Whitechapel in east London. It’s a Victorian three-bed house and I’ve spent the whole of today trying to sort the mortgage – it’s strange adult territory! And it’s been a real bitch getting it, too. They nearly didn’t let me have it – maybe it’s because they recognised me. It’s the perfect place and size, and we got it pretty cheap for what it is.

“I can’t wait to start decorating! I’m obsessed with buying vintage sofas off eBay for £200. I have five! I don’t see the point of paying £300 for a new one. Thomas came round my flat today, which is tiny so you can barely move for sofas!”

Bob Geldof’s daughter Peaches engaged again

Peaches Geldof and her fiancé, Thomas Cohen
Yet another romantic tale of wedded bliss is headed our way with the news that Irish rocker/Africa activist Bob Geldof’s daughter, Peaches, 22, is going to march up the aisle for a second time with her latest guy, a musician named Thomas Cohen.

Peaches, who was married for a few minutes when she was still a teen, showed off her guy, and her bling, at the premiere of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo in London on Monday night.  In fairness to her, she looked quite well – much better than in recent years when she was plagued with drug troubles and a party girl reputation.  (Although she’s had another problem of late, shoplifting – she was accused in October of thieving more than $100 worth of cosmetics from a Boots drug store in London.)

Peaches, who’s trying to make a name for herself on TV as . . .um . . . we’re not quite sure . . . says she’s not going to say I do just yet.

“Yes, I'm engaged! We don't want to get married for a couple of years yet though so don't expect me in a dress yet. I'm so happy,” she told the Sunday Mirror.

Her crazy party animal days are a thing of the past, she says. “I’m actually really boring. Recently, I’ve been staying in with my fiancĂ© every night of the week, watching films like Babe,” she volunteered.

Meanwhile, daddy Geldof is thrilled that Glee is covering his iconic holiday song, “Do They Know It’s Christmas,” the star-studded fundraiser for Africa that kicked off Geldof’s global push for fairness for Africans.

“The reverberations of this little song continue down the long 26 years since Midge Ure and I wrote it. It could not be more timely now that Glee, with its vast global audience of young people, re-introduce it to a whole new constituency who are probably unaware of the great tragedy unfolding amongst the hungry, poor and dying of Somalia as a result of drought and a bitter and pointless civil war,” Geldof said.

Proceeds from the sale of Glee’s version of the song will go towards Geldof’s Band Aid Trust charity to end famine in East Africa.
