'Glee's' Jane Lynch admits she was once like cheerleading coach Sue Sylvester

The 51-year-old actress admits she used to be a lot like her 'Glee' character, menacing cheerleading coach Sue Sylvester, but thinks she is much "nicer" these days.

She said: “I was terrible. It was so Psychology 101 - I felt terrible inside and I projected it on everybody else. I made everybody bad, wrong.

“I was kind of shaming and humiliating, not unlike Sue Sylvester, so I had a lot to draw on. I wasn’t a nice person to have around. And I can say today, I’m kind of a nice person to have around!”

Jane – who is married to psychologist Lara Embry – is openly gay but admits she used to have a crush on 'Happy Days' star-turned-director Ron Howard when she was younger because he was "not at all sexual".

She told 'Access Hollywood': "It's a common - very common occurrence. Very safe guy.

“You know, [Ron was] one of those boys that is just a really nice boy. He’s not at all sexual, so, you don’t have to deal with that. No body hair. Like, if you look at Donnie Osmond and Davy Jones – they’re kind of like Ken dolls.”
