Piers Morgan claims Madonna's performance at the Super Bowl was "gruesome" - VIDEO

Madonna playing at the Super Bowl

The talk show host - who has had a long-running feud with the 'Hung Up' singer - was not impressed with Madonna's routine during the halftime show of the NFL game on Sunday because she looked like a "drunken aunt".

He told TV host Chelsea Handler: "That Super Bowl performance - it was like watching your mad drunken aunt at Christmas, wasn't it? I keep reading all these celebrities tweeting like, 'Wasn't she awesome?' No she wasn't! She was gruesome!

"But at least I've found that I have one common ground with Madonna: neither of us have sung live at the Super Bowl. She was lip syncing the whole damn thing. I was singing along with her and trust me, she wasn't singing."

Piers - who has banned Madonna from his talk show - has made no secret of his dislike of the 'Material Girl' hitmaker and has often spoken about several clashes they have had.

He once said: "There was a bread roll throwing incident in London in the mid '90s; there was an incident at a hotel in the south of France at the Cannes Film Festival involving a photographer and a bodyguard. And there's been an incident involving a pub owned by her recently departed husband, Guy Ritchie, where my brother was the manager."

Gisele Bundchen had to console husband Tom Brady after his team lost the Super Bowl last night

Gisele and Tom Brady
The Brazilian supermodel was in the stands as she watched Tom's New England's Patriots take on the New York Giants at the NFL showpiece game in Indianapolis, Indiana, and after they were defeated she ran down to give him a hug.

Tom looked very appreciative of his stunning wife's support but he later admitted nothing would be able to console him following the loss.

He said: "It always comes down to one or two plays in this game and if you make it, you're celebrating. If you don't, then you don't sleep for a week. I give [the Giants] a lot of credit for the plays they made. They deserved to win and hopefully we'll be back at some point."

Gisele - who has a two-year-old son, Benjamin, with Tom - loves going to watching her handsome husband play and recently admitted she acts like a "cheerleader" when she does.

The 31-year-old beauty - who married the NFL star in February 2009 - said: "He's such a gentle giant. I'm so proud of him. When I go to watch him play, I'm like this big cheerleader, jumping up and down for him. I was born such a passionate person. I don't know if that's my blessing or curse!"

New England Patriot’s Tom Brady talks about his Irish roots

New England Patriot's quarterback Tom Brady (Photos: Reuters)
New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is, not surprisingly given his surname, Irish through and through. Back in 2009, when the Pats played Tampa in London, Brady spoke fondly of his Irishness.

“My father is 100 percent Irish. We took a trip over there together and visited some of the places where my family came from. That was a great experience for me and obviously I am very proud of my Irish roots. I’ve been golfing in Ireland and Scotland as well. I’ve really enjoyed my time over there.”

The Brady roots, according to Tom’s dad, are in Cavan and Cork, and the ancestors came to America to escape the ravages of the famine.
