Lady Gaga has been hailed the world's best loved eccentric - Ireland's Jedward make the list

The 'Born This Way' hitmaker Lady Gaga is known for her quirky outfits, which have included a meat dress and telephone hat, and often odd behavior but her strangeness has landed her the title, Most Eccentric Celebrity. 

The 26-year-old singer beat a host of famous names to top the poll of 2,000 people, including third placed rocker Ozzy Osbourne, fourth placed Prince Philip and Russell Brand, who came fifth.

Ireland's pop duo Jedward also made this list. The Dublin twins are known for their happy go lucky attitude to life, their quirky style and of course their matching quiffs.

A spokesman for Nature Valley, who conducted the survey as part of their new 'Sweet & Nutty' bar launch, said: "British people tend to have a soft spot for anyone out of the norm - anyone who doesn't conform to the ordinary. This is why celebrities such as Prince Philip, Lady Gaga and Russell Brand are close to our hearts.

"More often than not, eccentric attributes are harmless as they are often have the most brilliant personalities."

Other stars to make the eccentric list include comedian-and-actor Stephen Fry (seven), cross-dressing comic Eddie Izzard (eight), Icelandic pop star Bjork, Hollywood megastar Johnny Depp (17) and quirky couple Helena Bonham Carter (12) and Tim Burton (15).

“American Pie” star Tara Reid bring Irish pop duo Jedward to the Dublin premiere

“American Pie” star Tara Reid was reunited with Jedward this week at the premiere of “American Pie: The Reunion” at the Savoy, in Dublin. 

Reid told the Herald John and Edward Grimes (aka Jedward) are like here “little brothers”. The unlikely buddies met on “Celebrity Big Brother” in Britain in 2011. 

She said “"I just adore them, they're the smartest kids, they're so talented, I just love them.”

It seems that the Dublin stars Jedward stole the show at the premiere despite the Hollywood big wigs on hand. 

A source said “They were screaming even before Jedward had arrived and it was complete pandemonium when they did get there.

"They were trying to get all the stars of the film to go inside but Tara Reid kept going back outside to pose for pictures with the two boys. She couldn't get over how popular they were in Ireland and loved sharing the limelight with them."

Also at the premiere were Seann William Scott, aka Stifler, and the actress who plays Stifler's cougar Mom, Jennifer Coolidge.
