Taylor Swift is embarrassed that her love life has become a joke

The 'Love Story' singer who has dated stars including Jake Gyllenhaal, John Mayer and most recently One Direction's Harry Styles, was mortified when Golden Globes co-host mocked her romantic history at the recent awards show and she was the butt of jokes on an episode of 'Saturday Night Live'.

A source told RadarOnline: “The jokes being made about Taylor's love life embarrass her.

“At first Taylor just thought it was funny how much interest people had in her love life and she went along with it. But now she’s the butt of jokes on ‘Saturday Night Live,’ in the tabloids and on the late night shows.

She laughed it off, but the jokes made about her at the Golden Globes got under her skin.”

Taylor, 23, who has also dated Conor Kennedy, Taylor Lautner and Joe Jonas, is famous for using her relationships as inspiration for her songs but she is beginning to regret being so open about her dating history.

The source added: “She really wants to make an effort to slow down and not jump from boyfriend to boyfriend. In a weird way all the negative press has really opened her eyes and will be good for her!”

The Kennedy family set to honor Taylor Swift at a gala in December

Taylor Swift

Although the ‘We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together’ singer split from Conor Kennedy –the son of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and the late Mary Kennedy – recently, his family are going ahead with plans to pay tribute to her at the Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice and Human Rights’ Ripple of Hope Awards Dinner.

The event is set to be held at New York’s Marriott Marquis on December 3.

While Taylor and Conor reportedly split some time ago, the family are said to believe the romance isn’t completely over as it was his schoolwork and her busy schedule which tore them apart.

A source told the New York Post’s Page Six: “Conor has gone back to school, and the deans at Deerfield Academy in Massachusetts are not happy about him jetting around with Taylor. He was due to attend an awards ceremony with her at the end of the summer, but the school chiefs put the kibosh on it. He can’t just leave school to be with her at every point.”

Taylor Swift fears her ‘butterflies and daydreams’ days with Conor Kennedy will not last

Taylor Swift and Conor Kennedy
The 22-year-old singer - who has previously dated John Mayer, Jake Gyllenhaal and Joe Jonas - insists her mind is constantly filled with thoughts of both "faith and disbelief" about romance and she worries true love will not be part of her future.

She said: "I think that one thing I'm really afraid of is ... that magic doesn't last. That butterflies and daydreams and love, all these things that I hold so dear, are going to leave some day.

"I haven't had a relationship that's lasted forever. I only know about them starting and ending. Those are my fears. I spend a lot of time balancing between faith and disbelief."

Despite the 'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together' hitmaker's concerns, Taylor isn't worried about "looking youthful forever" but she is keen to have a young person's mentality for as long as she can get away with it.

She explained: "I think there's something we have as little kids that goes away sometimes. I don't care about looking youthful forever, but I care about seeming youthful."

While the blonde beauty is known for pouring her heart out in her song lyrics, which are largely based on her real-life experiences, she is thankful for having a "crazy imagination" during her childhood.

She added in an interview with The Guardian newspaper: "A fairytale is an interesting concept. There's 'happily ever after' at the end, but that's not a part of our world. Everything is an ongoing storyline and you're always battling the complexities of life. But what I got from fairytales, growing up, was a beautiful daydream. I'm glad I had the craziest imagination and believed in all sorts of things that don't exist."

Christopher Lawford, a cousin of Conor Kennedy, thinks everyone should butt out of his little cous’ relationship with 22-year-old pop sensation Taylor Swift.

Speaking to the Boston Herald, while promoting his new book, “Recover to Live” he said  whatever helps his young cousin, Conor Kennedy, needs to get over the tragic suicide of his mother, Mary Richardson Kennedy, is fine by him.

He said “Mary Richardson was a big-hearted individual who cared deeply for her kids and they’ve suffered greatly for her not being there.

“So whatever Conor has to do to comfort himself, he should do it as long as they are both happy and healthy ... and left alone.”

Lawford also praised Robert Kennedy, Conor’s father, for “always been a great father to his kids” and spending “a lot of time” with them since his estranged wife committed suicide last May.
