Emma Thompson is over her marriage breakup with Kenneth Branagh

Double Oscar winner Emma Thompson has no hard feelings towards actress Helena Bonham Carter, who allegedly was the reason why Thompson’s marriage to Kenneth Branagh went kaput back in the 1990s.

Thompson told the Sunday Times of London that she’s well over the heartbreak at this stage, and even called HBC a “wonderful woman.”

“All blood under the bridge. You can’t hold on to anything like that. I just think… pfft,” Thompson said.

“It’s pointless. I haven’t got the energy for it. Helena and I made our peace years and years ago.”

Thompson wed the Belfast-born actor/director Branagh in 1989, but the marriage ended in 1995 amid claims that Branagh hooked up with Bonham Carter a year earlier.

That relationship fizzled in 1999.  Branagh went on to marry art director Lindsey Brunnock in 2003, while Bonham Carter has been in a long-term relationship with director Tim Burton.

Thompson survived the heartache just fine too. She remarried and has a teenage daughter.
